Loading question

So... to anyone who's done more than one round...

This round I loaded high-fat, but probably high-carb too as I just didn't worry about it much. I was hungry the first week.

Does anyone have personal experience with high-fat/high-carb loading versus high-fat/low-carb loading? If so, was loading LC better? If so, how? What was the difference for you?

I was going to load 12/31 and 1/1, but our church Christmas party is 1/2. So knowing that there will be carby items there, I thought I'd load 1/2 and 1/3... not worrying too much about the carbs on 1/2, but keeping it LC on 1/3. Would that be okay? OR should I load on 1/3 & 1/4 and do high-fat/low-carb both days?

I'd appreciate your thoughts/experience. TIA

I've done all of those combos, and as much as it isn't fun, the high fat low carb for both days works the best for me both for hunger and for getting into 'virgin' weight. That said, if there's something I'm dying for, I think I would have it rather than start off feeling deprived. However it once took me a week to start losing real weight, so it's not so worth it to me anymore.

Debby you did so well your first round you are sure to have a great second round!

I agree 1000% with Paula!!! My first round was spectacular and I did my loading 100% low carb/high fat. Then with my second and subsequent rounds I just did whatever I wanted. My first round was the best ever!!

Bookmarking this for tomorrow! Good question!

I feel like I have been loading for the last 2 weeks. Seriously (hence the 3 lb gain) so I am not really craving anything.

Thanks! I did a 40 day round and had a lot of struggles, but did REALLY well in the last week of it. I'm so glad I hung on for that long, even thought it was really hard. It was worth it!

So... since the consensus is HF/LC... what is a good "sample" loading menu?

I did a low carb cauliflower pizza, avocado dressing for salad with olive oil, cream cheese muffins. I had lots of fun with it.

Over the course of 2 days I had a half of a chocolate cheesecake and it was yum!!! I made some of Linda Sue's casseroles--the ground beef ones that involved cheese so that if there were leftovers my kids would eat them. I love her white castle hamburger pie. I also made her coney island pie. I made an egg drink that involved 3 eggs; 3 TBL of butter; 3 TBL of coconut oil--very fatty drink. I also got in on at least one load day a total of 6 TBL of coconut oil Talk about fat!!! OMG!!!! That was my low carb loading menu in a nutshell!! I always have avocados on hand, so they were in my salads too with blue cheese dressing. My first round I wanted to do as cheap as possible so I went with foods I had already in the house and did not go out to eat. You do not have to have fast food to load!! It seemed when I started a long time ago everyone suggested going out to eat for some fatty stuff--the burgers and fries. I didn't want that. I can make my food much better than any restaurant.

WOW!!! That looks (and sounds) SO good. Thanks! I have some time (about 3 weeks or so), so I'll have to actually try and plan it out.

ARggh, my DH used to work in a kitchen for years, and he is TOPS at making messes. Someone else always used to have to clean up. There'll be sauce splattered on the wall/fridge, cheese and lettuce ground into the flour, bread crumbs everywhere. Takes more time for me to clean up than he spends cooking. I could do without his 'help.' Plus two pans used for every dish that would just take me one.

Don't get me started on the microwave. I had spent 30 minutes cleaning it a week ago, and an hour later he microwaves chili ... without a paper towel.
