I could only stand so many cups of tea But, yes, that was my only deviance as well. And it kept me away from so many other bad things that were surely not on protocol!! It worked for me as well. |

So begins day 1 of VLCD for me. I hardly slept last night. I read that sleep issues sometimes happen with this, but it scares me. Not sleeping is usually something that makes me hungry the next day. So far I am not too hungry. I'm sitting here having my black coffee and for a few seconds I will feel kinda hungry then it goes away. I'm going to have some chicken breast, steamed asparagus, an apple and a grissini for lunch. Honestly that seems like a pretty good amount of food.
I ate a ton yesterday and tried to concentrate on healthy fats. I even supplemented with 3 tablespoons of Udo's oil. I also used a green foods product called Amazing Grass, which has a lot of concentrated veggie matter in it but it also has Yerba Mate and Matcha, which are like caffeine. Maybe that is why I could not sleep. Stats so far: P2D1 (loading): 169.4 P2D2 (loading): 170.0 P2D3 (VLCD 1): 170.8 It doesn't seem like I gained very much during loading compared to some but I swear I ate like a pig all day! |

Started drops at bedtime last night, 2nd dose today. I am excited to get in the P2 groove. I find that I pick of steam after day 3. Just lots of detoxing and back on the protein, fruit, veggie, water wagon. Eating healthy gives me so much energy. Hope all of you have a great week with staying on plan. Good Luck |

R2 vlcd2 for me, down 1.4 from yesterday still above the ldw for R1 but I know I will be in the 150's next week so that is exciting.
I have cut out coffee again as I need to have cream in mine but it is only for 3 weeks. |

Good job Luckyd...I'm right with you, let's conquer this together! I also need my sleep...a bit worried about that!
So, I started loading on Saturday, Sunday woke up at 191.4, loaded all day Sunday, woke up this morning at 188.6? Weird! I ate like there was no tomorrow yesterday and lost? Hmmm... Got my food all ready for the week as today is VLCday1! Feelin' good. We shall see how I'm feeling later this week, but I'm so determined this time! I believe preparation may be key for me ![]() Thanks for the advice on the cream in my coffee...I just really can't stand the stevia, so I'm gonna see how I do adding just a tiny bit of splenda in my coffee every morning and see if I still get any losses! Happy Monday all!

I'm too much of a chicken to deviate, but I sure wish I could. Lol. I would be in heaven if I could do fat free half and half with my coffee and splenda. I'm hoping to stay on strict protocol again this time. I gained 3.5 # loading. Wowsa!

VLCD #1 today for me. I gained 2.8 loading, and, including that weight, have 40 lbs. I need to lose, and hoping to get it done in 2 rounds.
I was going to try to give up coffee for this round, but I may have it (with the 2 T of half & half and liquid stevia) if I really need it. My food for today will probably be: chicken & cabbage with chicken broth & cilantro, red pepper flakes & bragg's aminos 1 apple tomato & cottage cheese bake with miracle noodles, swisschard (counting the tomato as a fruit) Lots of water & tea. I don't do the grissini or melba. I've found in the past they are too easy for me to overeat on if I am having hunger problems. I know it's controversial, but I do use the miracle noodles. They are very filling and I do lose with them. I usually use them with 1 meal per day. Good luck & congrats to all who are already losing. |

So mad at myself, and the scale showed a .2 lb gain. I gues it could have been worse, but I am back on track today. Adjusted my dose a little lowered from 150 to 130. Hopefully that helps some. |

Hi all!! I checked in at the start of the thread and haven't checked back in til now. Today is R 2, VLCD 2 for me. Feeling much better this round then I did the first, but I also had major detoxing during R1 due to being a huge Diet Coke drinker. Haven't had a drop of it since then. Anyways...after loading, I ended up 10 lbs. above my LDW from R1, however this morning I was happy with the scales--6.6 lbs. gone. Almost into virgin weight territory and I can't weight.
Having a little bit of hunger today...downing tons of water and hot tea and am counting down the minutes til lunch. But no complaints!! I am loving being back on P2!! Have a great day everyone!

I'm pretty sure the cottage cheese is listed in Pounds & Inches to use periodically. You'd have to see how your body reacts to it, but I know several people have used it - 4 oz. of the 1%. I mix 1/2 can petitie diced tomoato (that I've cooked with some garlic powder & oregano) with a package of the miracle noodles. I put that in an oven proof dish & top with 4 oz. of the cottage cheese and bake for about 20 minutes. Holy cow it is sooo good! And very filling. I think it was Gracie that posted this recipe - I added in the miracle noodles. I use an organic brand, Pacific something, that I buy in Costco. Last edited by MellaBella; 01-03-2011 at 09:53 AM.. |

Mella Bella, Where do you find your miracle noodles? Do you have to rinse them alot to get them to taste good. On my first round I did use 4 oz. of 1% cottage cheese and lost 22 lbs. I think you have to see if that would work for you. Thanks for the recipe!

They are not made with soy which I really like. Here is how I prepare them: Rinse REALLY REALLY well cook in boiling, salted water about a minute or so drain, then I return the noodles to the empty pot, and with the heat on, I stir the noodles to "dry" them. Then I add to whatever dish I am making. |

Back for R2!
Hello everyone. Been a few months of personal drama for me. I started on my first round of hHCG back in September. It was LARGELY successful not only in getting off 34 lbs in 32 days...but in retraining my thinking on eating. So basically, I learned some valuable weight loss lessons.
I was doing well keeping it off for about 2 weeks with P3 maintenance. My body had in fact "learned" the new weight I was at. THEN...I went into a serious bout of depression from a recent break up. Long story...but short version is I was finally involved with someone again after the death of my fiance 2 years back. He turned out not to be the person I thought he was and it sent me into a self sabatoging tail spin. I gained back all but 8 lbs lost. BUT...I'm here to tell you all that I DID learn how to keep the weight off. And had I not intentionally been trying to sabatoge myself I KNOW for the first time in my life that the weight loss would have stayed off. On to happier days and thoughts! I am back on the plan starting today. I will keep you all updated with my results AND in sharing my experience with keeping it off. This forum provides me so much inspiration...so nice to see everyone posting and sharing our victories and roadbumps! Good luck to everyone starting this year! |

checking in while I'm still home from work being
Finally took a moment to see where I am in the numbers. This is my first time trying out hHCG drops. I did 4 load days, which for me weren't about the fat eating but were more to get enough of the hHCG in my system so the hunger wasn't there. My first round I used Rx HCG (oral) and my hunger went away immediately ... this round and formula that didn't happen so I adjusted on the fly. By the 4th day things felt the way they should and the hunger went away. Technically this is my 8th day dosing, but VLCD3 Gained 3.3lbs loading, 8.4lbs gone as of this morning. ![]() whew. there. now I fell all caught up with y'all. |

Celtic -- thanks! I am down another 1.8 today... I cannot believe this!!!
I am using the Yavonae drops, with alcohol, 3x strength. I am totally going to order another bottle of those! (even if I don't end up needing them). The same seller also sells pellets, and I am considering those, too, for when I am out and about. I'm sticking fairly close to protocol... here's where I am deviating: I swapped out 1 fruit daily for my handful of vitamins, figuring the calories/carbs/etc. would balance out that way. I am eating turkey as well as chicken, and I am (gasp!) mixing my greens. I have had NO cravings, and almost zero hunger as well. I am still using body creams, and I am still using my hormone replacement creams too. I have had a hard time getting all the food in... never in a bizillion years did I think I would have trouble getting in 500 calories, but there it is!

I'm the same way, Mini. I really want to deviate but I'm too scared. Lol. My last round was only chicken for my protein but this time I'm adding beef! I'm both scared and excited.
Your losses are awesome! I hope to see a loss tomorrow. |

Today was my first VLCD day. Not too bad so far. I did experience some serious hunger around 4pm but drank some herbal tea which seemed to help at least for awhile. Now I'm getting hungry again and looking forward to dinner. I do hope I can sleep tonight. I think that would help a ton.
How many days of hunger is there supposed to be again? I forgot ![]() |

Oh, PHX --- HUGE hugs to you! What a horrible experience... and I am so deeply sad to hear about your fiance. I can't imagine what you must be going through.
The weight thing is small beans by comparison to the emotional upheaval you are facing. You can totally do this... put the self sabotage behind you and get back on track. Do it as vengeance to that cad who just hurt you, if need be! ![]() Or, let it be for now, and take care of your emotional needs, and restart later when your head is in it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Well, I'm back. LOL
I weighed in this morning with 3.4 pounds of the 9 pound load weight gone. I had started loading my two days with the 2.0 pounds I had seemed to keep just about permanently after I stabilized from my last round. So now I have 7.6 pounds to go to get into new numbers. Maybe I said that already! Yes, I'm in R4. I started last year at this time and my rounds went like this: R1 40 days, 31.4 loss (actually lost weight loading) R2 35 days, 23.6 new loss not counting load gain/loss (gained about 2 pounds loading) R3 25 days, 18.0 new loss not counting load gain/loss (gained about 4 pounds loading) I maintained over the summer and could have started R4, per protocol wait-times, on the 20th of October. But I was undergoing some intensive therapy for my hip and doc said needed more protein than on VLCD. So I waited. I almost wish I hadn't. I had a bit of trouble stabilizing and maintaining this time. I don't know for sure why, but my suspicions are 2 possibilities: 1. I deviated from protocol (only in the 3rd round) by using coconut oil and chocolate powder and macadamia nuts occasionally (2-3x a week?) that people have said they used without problems. I monitored my ketones with a urine strip and I could see that I was burning more ketones when I used it. I know people say you can "add" it, but I was afraid to do that and not account for the calories, so at least I would shave a little protein off and I didn't have at least one fruit, maybe neither, for the days I did have some. 2. I started maintenance immediately after the 72 hours by enjoying some alcohol with my husband for our anniversary (30 years) and ended up doing a steak day by the 3rd day - and a steak day about once a week for many weeks- when previously in first and 2nd rounds' maintenance, only having to do ONE -- and it seemed to take forever to stabilize. So, this time, I'm not taking any chances. No coconut oil for me (unless I weaken LOL) and no alcohol until at least I stabilize in M1. My plan this time is to get down another 20 NEW pounds, but 27 would be magnificent, because that would be 100 lost and a big boost for me emotionally. After this round, I will for sure do one more, maybe two. Thanks for the warm welcome! Last edited by C'Marie; 01-03-2011 at 09:34 PM.. Reason: clarification |

Fantastic results, C'Marie!!!!!!!! I am super impressed!
And, SomewhatD -- WAY TO GO!!!!! What a great drop to see in one day! Another thing that amazes me here... I have totally given up diet soda, and I don't miss it. I was a pretty hardcore soda drinker before, but kept thinking I should stop. I am still drinking my black coffee, but I don't think I am drinking as much as before. I should get a pretty good detox out of all this, I would think. |

Good Morning!! Weighed in 1.2 lbs. less this morning then yesterday. Woot!!
Was a little bit hungry yesterday...but nothing I couldn't handle. Actually, when I'm hungry I drink water to try to subside it (or sometimes hot tea), so maybe the hunger isn't such a bad thing.A few of you had mentioned that you are strict P2er's. I am too!! I have an organizer with a monthly calendar that I post my daily weight in, and it has a weekly planner that I write down everything I eat including the calories I intake when I'm in P2. I'm obsessive about it!! And if it's not on Dr. S.'s official protocol then I don't eat it! Quote:
