Ok, this is my menu for today:

B - Omelete w/ onions, mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers and jalapenos
L - Scoop of tuna salad, hardboiled egg, cup of lettuce w/ ranch dressing
S - 4 (pre-made) chicken meatballs (no sugar or starch added)
D - Roasted cauli w/ olive oil and garlic, rib eye steak

Good? Bad?

Looks good to me! I know everyone is going to say "more fat!" and I totally agree, but if it was me I'd see how the scale does eating like this for the next couple days and add more fat once stable.

Ugh. I just can't get past the more fat thing. I'm so close to being 2 pounds over my LDW. I'm petrified of getting on the scale tomorrow morning after eating a good sized steak for dinner. Plus, well, I haven't "gone" since I started P3 on Saturday. Sorry, TMI.

I have GOT to get this figured out!!!

OH! I did have a cup of coffee with heavy cream this morning.

Part of your issue with stabilizing is probably that you haven't gone. That happened to me last round... I started p3 and everything stopped moving.

You could always do something to make it happen... vitamin c flush, large dose of magnesium, or smooth move. They'll all work

I am there too...it's so hard to believe that fat is your friend when you've been beaten into thinking it's not...I had a lot of ranch (IMO) and caesar on my salad today and I NEVER would have cooked my broccoli in butter lol! I did it...we'll see....I am roasting a chicken right now for tomorrow just in case.

Ironically, I drank some Smooth Move on Saturday night (which was my first day on P3) and nothing happened. I'm drinking a cup right now so we'll see.

I'm hoping I don't have to do a steak day tomorrow because A.) I had steak tonight and B.) my boyfriend is coming home from some work travel and I was going to cook us dinner ... and steak wasn't on the menu. LOL

Fingers crossed.

I'll be thinking of you, I was loving stepping on the scale and now i'm back to dreading it...I am going to order some type of enzyme to help me digest this food better because even though i went this morning, I don't feel the way i normally do when i took smooth move in p2...im gonna go to cvs tomorrow and look for some magnesium

Let me know what you find.

I used to LOVE waking up on P2 and getting on the scale .... now I dread it. SUCKS!

If I wasn't going to Vegas at the end of December, I'd probably jump back on the P2 wagon, but alas ... I have to wait until the first weekend in February to start my second round. Bummer.

I'll let you know def...I would get back onto to p2 right now as well but i did a full 40 and I do need a break, just not to make me crazy! There's so much going on in december that I'm going to wait till jan 1 unless you see me standing on the side of a bridge with raw steak in my hand

Ahh, I wish I could do January 1st, but I'm headed out of town (again) the first week of February and I don't want to deal with this P3 madness while I'm gone. It's supposed to be a trip for pleasure, afterall.

Ok, Smooth Move is officially off my 'menu'. The first time I drank it, it worked like a charm. Second time - nothing. Third time (last night) - nothing. What gives?

I might need to look into magnesium, just concerned about the taste (assuming it's a liquid). Maybe there is another type of decent tasting tea out there.

The good news is I'm down .4 to 198.7. I just need that number to keep going down to about 196 and I'll be happy as a clam. Today is Day 5 of P3 and while my weight has certainly fluctuated, at least I've still been within my 2 pounds +/-.

How did you do today, Heather?

I use Twin labs magnesium - capsules. No taste. You start slow, before bed and see how many your body needs to get things moving. I have tried tablets and they never worked, I needed the "capsules".

The tea always hurt my bowels with cramping. Magnesium does not have any cramping going on. Just have to be aware if you take too much too start, you will be in the bathroom a lot! lol

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I'm a BIG baby and have a REALLY hard time swallowing pills. It takes an act of god to get me to take Advil. I know, I know - pathetic! LOL

I definitely need to try something though!

Oh yeah, that is an issue. Hope you find something. When I tried the tea, it stopped working at times so I double the tea, let it steep for a long time and chucked it back. But boy did it hurt my bowels. Good luck!!

My Natural Calm comes in a powder that you mix with water--hot or cold--and the flavor I have is raspberry lemon. Tastes quite nice!!! Even DH takes it. When I had trouble in one of my rounds I went back to my old standby of psyllium caps while in P2. They work like a charm for me. I have the Smooth Move tea but was scared to take it because of the "effects" I have heard about If you are in P3 the added fats should be working to lube the system. I take coconut oil in the day and psyllium caps at night and boy it works!!!! Regular like a clock. Good luck!

You could try adding some flax into your menu. I know Dawn says to wait, but I had it on day 1 (minute muffin) and didn't have a problem. It might be worth a try.

Also, I've heard that coconut oil can help with regularity. I've been drinking Coconut Hot Cocoa (TBSP cocoa, TBSP coconut oil, TBSP HWC, cup boiling water, 1/2 tsp xylitol, 8 drops liquid stevia) and really enjoy it. I believe there are other health benefits to coconut oil as well.

Good luck!

I take Betaine Hcl with pepsin for digestion of the protein. My doctor recommended it to me after getting a hair analysis done. It showed I was not properly digesting anything--proteins or carbs. Not sure of the fats, but still.......I take one after every meal that contains protein.

OMG i want to reply to everyone lol!

Jenifer- .6 up but that is way better than the 2+ up or down I've been having...! I think we'll see tomorrow but this is a MUCH better day than the others

Smooth move tea is not working for me anymore either...I let it steep for 15 min and it's just not the same as p2 was...i would be "cleaned out" lol after the one cup the next morning...I haven't had the hurties with smooth move but now it just doesn't work. I cook with coco oil and put it in my coffee and that doesn't help with bathroom parties but i don't care i love coco oil and do believe it has helped a lot with everything else!!

LOL i'm opposite Jenifer as in I'd rather take pills then gag over liquid i saw magnesium in flavors at CVS Jenifer but couldn't make myself buy it I'll have to look into the psyllium caps or the magnesium caps.

Dawn is Betaine Hcl with pepsin available over the counter? I tried Naked coconut water...mmm kinda gross lol

I was looking at NOW super enzymes on netrition

Last edited by heatherwagnon; 12-01-2010 at 10:42 AM.. Reason: Edited to include super enzymes

I *think* xylitol is a sugar alcohol and for some, it can cause stomach issues. Hey, maybe I should just ingest large quantities of that! Just kidding.

I'm sure someone else has more info on all three.

Oh, I'm not a good liquid person either, but if it's not too bad, I'd rather do liquid than a pill.

I get mine from my doctor, but in a pinch have bought one I found at Vitamin Shoppe. It didn't have the pepsin in it but thought it would work. I prefer to shop for my products in a brick and mortar store than over the internet. I am funny that way, my DH is quite the opposite. Anything he can get on the 'net he does!! Anyhow, the coconut water I get is O.N.E. and I like it. The brand Vita Coco is not that great. So I think the brands differ in taste quite a bit. Good thing my work has both!!

Xylitol is dangerous if you have dogs. But it is also what major gum makers use in their sugar free gums. Ya know like Orbit or Trident. They say it is good for the teeth. The main difference is where they come from . I am not a scientist and won't pretend to be one. You just have to try each one and see which you like. My doctor wants me to use exclusively stevia but I hate it!!! I use it for my hot teas but that is all. I use Splenda for cheesecakes and things like that and I have xylitol if I run out of Splenda or feel like using it. It is good for baking, whereas the stevia is not so great. Maltitol is what you need to steer clear of--talk about tummy issues

Maltitol looks like a familiar word but with the article "100 names for sugar" i get confused what is that found in? well i have splenda and stevia and i don't mind the flavored stevias (as long as it is not too much) the pure drop stevia is lookds like i'll be just fine without xylitol if i plan on using splenda in baking (which i was doing with those damn cream cheese muffins lol)

Two more thumbs up on NOW Super Enzymes.

On the flip side did ya'll know that smooth move tea is habit forming?! I didn't not until "vitamin guy" told me...of course i also believed him about the capsules and not natural calm (which they had) dang

Yes, the Smooth Move is NOT to be used with any regularity--pun unintended!!! It can cause you to have a dependency on it. Not good in my book at all!

Darn =(

Magnesium (if you got mag citrate) is a pretty sure thing. I'd just take a capsule an hour or maybe every 30 mins with a full glass of water each time, until you feel gurgling and need to go. 'Too much' magnesium is eliminated from your body that way, so you shouldn't get sick or anything (but stay close to a commode). I think it works because it causes your digestive system to absorb water.

'Too much' magnesium is eliminated from your body that way, so you shouldn't get sick or anything (but stay close to a commode). I think it works because it causes your digestive system to absorb water.
