I love crushed red pepper. One of my staples on P2 and beyond.

Hey HHCG buddies--I was back down to my pre-Thanksgiving weight this morning (I gained *8*!!!!! pounds and was scared to death--so I am feeling a lot better--some social challenges ahead for the next several days--a dinner meeting at my house tonight--pot luck, so I have little control except for what I make--I don't really want to eat my P2 foods in front of everyone, so may just set out other food and play with whatever is on my plate--and a big dinner dance on Saturday night where alcohol will certainly be a factor. Trying to plan and be proactive--Thanks again for all the support!

I know, right? I am quite pleased with that!! Yesterday I had coffee/cream/splenda/sweetnlow, drank a LOT of water (splash of crystal light in it), then had some P2 chili for lunch, and a protein shake in the late afternoon. I had a second one for "dinnner". About 600cals yesterday. Monday I had coffee for bfast, chicken soup (some broc. and cheese in it), and a protein shake for dinner. I do the MRM LC protein powder and the Silk Almond milk (unsw) for my shakes. I'm running around a lot this week. About 600 cals Mon. too. today, so far, I've had coffee and a burger. Shooting for a light dinner, probably some chicken. You're losing well!! Are you glad you tried the hHCG? You're almost to goal!!

Wow!! Great job getting back down!! Those social eating situations kill me!! That's why I plan my P2 rounds around life. I just don't do well trying to resist. I become somewhat hermit like when sticking to my plan. I have been known to go out to dinner and have iced tea! Dh is pretty supportive .

Feeling good. Not really hungry, but I miss eating again. Sigh. I'm starting to make all teh Christmas treats I give away. Trying cake ball this year. So hard ot know if a new recipe is good since I can't taste it!! Dh and dd's are very willing to help in taht area !

Have a good night!

I just got down to my pre-Thanksgiving weight too,put on 4.5lbs.My body did not want to give those up but I just kept chugging along.I do notice a HUGE difference in the way my clothes fit! I put on a pair of jeans that I could get buttoned but was too painful,I can now pull them down without unbuttoning them...yahoooo.It has really helped to measure, the last time I measured I was down by 3 inches on my waist and thats with only a 13lb loss.

Good morning! Thanks for the welcome and support.

I'm down 1.8 lbs. today for a total loss of 7.4lbs. in 3 days! I am so psyched I went a little more rogue yesterday by having more protein, half & half in my coffee and tea (about 4-5 Tbs. total) and 2 light beers  I don't plan to drink everyday, but I wanted to test it. I have a work Christmas party on the 12th to Olive Garden that I am already trying to prepare for. We're not really doing entrees just drinks and appetizers. I could order fish or chicken with veggies if we were doing entrees, but I'm not sure what to do with the appetizers. I will probably have a couple of light beers or a rum and diet coke as my drinks. Any suggestions on how to handle the appetizers would be welcome!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm in a lousy mood.

VLCD day 5, and third day at 154. Also still congested from my cold!

This is my slowest round yet...but it's got to drop sometime. I'm guessing it's going so slow because of the cold? I am super thirsty at night and can't get enough to drink.

I am 3.2 pounds down from Thanksgiving morning though...it's just slower than I am used to.

25-Nov 157.4
1 26-Nov 156.4
27-Nov 155.4
28-Nov 156.4
2 29-Nov 156.2
3 30-Nov 154.4
4 1-Dec 154.8
5 2-Dec 154.2
The #s days are vlcd's, and other days are low carb maintenance (P3).

I must be due for a giant drop tomorrow!

Your body is just fighting on two fronts at the moment ... the cold and the fat! Give it some time, be patient, take some extra C, keep kicking back the fluids, rest and relax and let your body do it's thing. It'll be ok and back on track soon!

Good morning! Well I am on the way. Started my drops yesterday and tried really hard at this "loading" thing. LOL Not used to eating high fat stuff. I felt like the drops made me really thirsty...anyone experience this as well?

I'm so excited to see how this works. As a side note, I am a Public Health Major at Portland State University and I'm closely documenting my experience with this thinking I will use it as a research project on alternative medicine for obesity. Possibly I could use it as a thesis for graduate coursework...hmmm my mind is going wild with the possibilities. LOL

I'm off to Load Day 2. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning!! I was disappointed this morning with a bit of a gain less than a pound but still bummed. I am at 232.4 for a one week loss of 7.6. While that is great I was hoping for 10. I am just going to continue with my goal of being below 200 by Christmas. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Put it in perspective girl, 10 pounds are what I usually get for 3 weeks of Protocol. So almost 8 in a week is FANTASTIC! Don't be bummed, think how fast it's dropping compared to anything else you have done... It's definitely faster for me, even if I come on the board whining and complaining when it's slow. And (I remind myself!) it always speeds up after a slowdown or stall.

Now my chest is starting to hurt, so I better take care of myself. It's been years since a cold moved into my chest. Even worse, DH is getting the cold, and he's the whiniest baby of them all. OH, I am so going to be irritated later today. He'll be too sick to take out the garbage...too tired to pick up our son from school trip tomorrow night (and dang, I'm a menace on the roads at night with my bad night vision).

OK, sorry for all the whining again.

Yesterday was supposed to be an upday, but stayed about 700 cals cause I just wasn't hungry and lazy enough not to want to bother with cooking.
I still feel like I'm losing wt, but not in any new territory yet, but if I can lose at least 1# a week, I can live with that, that's about what I had settled into with JUDDD before.
This round I am not getting the crazy 10# bounce with the water wt, whatever that was all about. I certainly feel better.

I am SOOO down and frustrated!!!!!!! My new scales SUCK! (bangs head on wall) They weigh me 20 pounds more than my old ones before they got killed. So did I lose at all? Did I actually weigh more? Should I just give up and stay fat? EEERRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

OTOH my DD is estatic, they have her at a 10 pound loss...yay for her!

I have been a lurker, and now I would like to join in the conversation! I had done a previous round of HCG-stuck to protocol to a T.. it was VERY difficult for me, and while I lost 12 pounds, I gained it back in P3.. now I am going rogue I LOVE calorie cycling and having more food options.. and aside from a few small setbacks.. so far so good.

Here are some of my recent developments, hoping the full disclosure may be helpful to someone

I know I gained a few pounds over the 4 day holiday, but didn't weigh myself afterwards. I did 2 VLCD, and when I weighed myself yesterday I was 155.4. Up 1 pound! So I think I gained 2 or 3 pounds, then released most of of over my 2 VLCD days. So yesterday I had a high day, and did Bikram. I probably had between 1,200-1,400 calories, but Bikram burns about 1,000 cals. Here is the thing though, it also builds muscle and can make you hold onto water, especially if you are only doing it 1-2x a week like I am. So today, on the scale, after a high day and major exercise yesterday, I am still at 155.4... grrrr... I am NOT changing my weight loss ticker below yet.. I am an optimist! I will only change it to go DOWN ! Hahah. On the up side, my clothes are feel looser and I feel "tighter" after yesterday.

My husbands Christmas party is today, so I am having liquids until mid-day, then maybe a filet and vegetables.. I know I'll have a glass of wine or two, so I may make that my only "meal" today, then have a few bites of protein and veggies before bed, and have a low-moderate day of 600-700 cals. So we will see tomorrow

I have a few thoughts about my plateau:

1. Maybe it's not a plateau! With calorie cycling, maybe a 1-2 pound loss per week, especially since I have a total of 10-15 pounds to lose is what my body needs to be doing

2. I did go slightly crazy crazy over Thanksgiving, so maybe the 1 pound gain over the last week isnt the worst price to pay

3.some people on strict Simeons protocol get stuck in plateaus for a very long time.. and not even cheating at all! I would be very depressed to be eating that very limited choice of 500 cals a day and not losing day after day, even a week! So while I am at a plateau, I have had some enjoyable meals and snacks

4. this weight, 155ish, is usually my "sticking point" weight. I have gone down to this weight from the low 160s many times without TOO much difficulty, both with and without HCG. So I may be at a point that my body is saying "whoa, wait.. you want to go lower? I need a little adjustment period" At 5'8 1/2", the absolute lowest I want to get is 140.. and I will be pretty darn happy at 145

Also.. I have a plan for Las Vegas next week.. I talked to the gal that I buy my HCG from and she suggested that I do my last HCG injection this saturday, then stay on VLCD sat, sunday and monday. Then starting tuesday ( the morning we leave for Vegas), go on P3 and stay there until I get back home.. 6 days later. MUCH better plan than trying to be on HCG and calorie cycle in Vegas I think! So I will have a short P3 break ( rather excited about this), and then back to HCG and cycling I will of course let you all know how that goes.

Lostfox,

Don't feel bad about falling off the wagon! We all do it and I hate to say it, but when someone else gets off program, and then gets back on and lets us know about it, it is soooo helpful! That is the kind of encouragement we need!

Now my chest is starting to hurt, so I better take care of myself. It's been years since a cold moved into my chest. Even worse, DH is getting the cold, and he's the whiniest baby of them all. OH, I am so going to be irritated later today. OK, sorry for all the whining again.

Glad you are NOT having those crazy bounces.. that was nuts!!...

That is why I follow these threads and not the "Simeons Protocol Only" threads where you may be berated for eating 1/4 cup of blueberries.
I'll join Jan in saying WELCOME!!!! Nice to have you here and please keep posting!!!

It's not whining, it's venting. Completely different . Def. take care of yourself. Fluids, rest, etc. I agree, dh is a huge baby when he's sick. Me? I did my black Friday shopping with food poisoning/flu!! Show me a man who could do that baby!!

OTOH my DD is estatic, they have her at a 10 pound loss...yay for her!
Not sure what ot tell ya. Scales are awful, and changing them always gives you new data. Maybe take it back and get a different, kinder one? Don't give up, but maybe take a day or 2 to regroup. Hang in there!!

Down to 157.2 this morning!! That's the lowest I've been in 4 years!! YEAH!! SO happy about that. Shooting for 155 before I stall out again, which usually happens around Sat. So, 2 more lbs by Sat? I may be able to make that. Looks like my body likes to lose the first week back to strict plan, then it plateaus for the next few weeks, regardless of what I eat. I'm gonna' keep it low until I stall again, then go to P3ish for a few days, while dosing, then lower it and see if that gets me losing. I seem to need a good re-charging in between losses. We'll see!

Have a great day guys!!

Yes, that is the kicker! I'm avoiding those scales for a week. If no loss, they go back to Wally World!

OMG, that .25 loss I showed yesterday morning is back. This sucks. I know the problem, I think, I ate the same both lunch and dinner plus both fruits. I usually have only one fruit per day sometimes none. Today was steamed shrimp and spinach for lunch and I have ocean perch planned for dinner. Tomorrow is another day......

Congrats to all the great losses......even if I was not one... :-(

I think we have been at a certain weight so long and have seen ourselves looking and feeling fat we still have that mental picture of ourselves even if we have lost many pounds and are slim......As we lose we have to lose that old perception of ourselves.

I totally agree with you on this. I lost it so quickly that my mind has just not caught up to what is in the mirrror. I can look at pictures and say, yeah I have lost. However, in the mirror, I SEE the same me... it will just take some adjusting...
