I guess this is where it depends on if you believe in different types of fat.. On the Omaha plan he says there is only one type of fat, and it is all over the body and surrounding our organs.
I have also read other doctors who say there is no such thing as abnormal fat... HOWEVER... I don't have an opinion either way really. I have read so much about it from both sides that my head is spinning.... ![]() I know I will not gorge myself this time around, to me it was not worth it... I was honestly just feeling horrible. So to each his own...

I can't comment on the Omaha plan...as I know nothing about it. Honestly though its like playing telephone when you were a kid. What starts out at the beginning of the call ends up as something completely different by the end of the call. If you want 3 opinions on something medical...just ask 3 different doctors. They don't always agree. |

For flying, it's easier to comply with the rules and not get singled out. I would just put the drops (2 oz. in the original, marked container is ok) in a bag along with your toothpaste, etc. and put the bag in the bin beside your purse or shoes and no one will even notice because most folks are in such a rush to get through they don't pay attention to stuff like that. Soon as it gets through the machine, grab it and put it back in your purse real quick and co workers will be none the wiser!

Good Morning everyone.....
just popped in to say hello and still going strong,12 lbs this morning,day12 vlcd.I did cave in and have some popcorn Saturday night,I was going to be strong and measure it out and couldn't so I ended up eating waaaay more than I should have. That little salt splurge put me up 2 lbs.I've since lost that plus 1 more.Popcorn and chips have always been my weakness and I recognize that they will be my downfall unless I get a grip on them.So what I think I'll do is buy the individual size bags that are already premeasured seving sizes.I think it would be a lot easier to control that than looking into a large bag of chips and trying to stop. Everyone seems to be doing good, keep up the good work, don't beat yourself up over Thanksgiving if you over do it.Just jump back up on that galloping horse and go at it again. It's only a little blip on your radar, nothing to knock you off it completely. Happy Thanksgiving everyone ![]()

finally down 2 pounds after a week long stall. That was so totally weird. Feeling extremely anxious about undoing my good progress--I will have 48 hours of adult kids in the house, 25 guests coming for T-Day--having to put it all together--I am hoping that if I stray, I can get back down rapidly afterwards. I wish it was Saturday

Hello ladies
I am on R1VLCD22 and I think I am going to start doing the Omaha Weight Loss diet. I like the idea of unlimited lettuce & a wider selection on veggies/fruits, popcorn, 100 calorie slim buns, etc.... I have followed strict protocol so far and have lost 12.2 "real pounds" not including the 11.4 that I packed on loading (omg)!! I think it will be nice to have a big lettuce salad + 2c veggies along with my meat....wow, the things that excite me...lol Julieboolie~ I hope you are enjoying your time with your BFF |

This morning I stayed the same but it was expected given I was taken out for a late b-day dinner last night for sushi. All the sodium didn't help on the scale this morning. So I will drink lots and lots of water (after the floor guys lay the bathroom floor and put the toilet back because its the only one here). |

Morning everyone.
Not wanting to totally rehash yesterday's debate on not loading vs. Simeons protocol. But Torister you raised a good point about the difference between RX and hhcg. I can only say for myself, the hhcg takes effect within about 12 hours, and in that case, loading is a waste of time - for me. But I also want to add that my body responds amazingly well to hcg in the beginning, as it did during my early pregnancy. I also sympathize with all you guys who told your stories of gaining 5-11 pounds on loading. Ouch! At least it all works out in the long run though. I agree with Deb that Simeons ideas on fat were, as he admitted, speculative only. Everything he wrote was theory based on clinical observation. And it is possible that he made mistakes. And I have to say, that if his ideas are true, then why would I have lost fat on my heel after a week or two on 'healthy' Atkins induction fats and protein? I wasn't even skinny yet, I was still 5-10 lbs from goal weight, and I developed major heel pain until I gained 3-5 lbs back! I think it's great we don't all agree, as debate is healthy and enlightening. Back with an update on how I'm doing, in a bit. Last edited by lostfox; 11-23-2010 at 09:36 AM.. |

Hello everyone! I reached a new decade this morning. I am not trying to lose right now because i introduced exercise into my daily activities. As for loading...i will never do again because i do not load on good fats...i loaded so much last time that i puked. IMO loading is not necessary for me. I will miss the loading because i am enjoying my treats right now and know that load days are not on the horizon. i do not feel the need to eat to capacity. I enjoy feeling hunger...it means that fat is burning

Hoping everyone is ready for a good Thanksgiving (all our American peeps!).
I will be bringing the carby sides this year - homemade rolls and mashed potatoes. Mostly for my own family. I am going to get to see my twinsister and her 3 girls. It will be the "big reveal" - they will all be shocked, in a good way, to see me! I was 45 pounds heavier last Christmas when we were all last together. I'm going to bring some pumpkin bake as well...but I'll be the only one to eat it. Almost no one else can eat dairy (they can't even eat butter). On the loading....I am really glad I didn't carb load the last time after my interruption. Made a big difference in how I felt. In round 2, I loaded a lot more than round 1. Gained 6.4 pounds and it took till day 6 to lose the loading weight. That was incredibly frustrating. My first round it came off so quick though.

Paula~ How cool to be 45 pounds lighter, they will be knocked out!
I used to feel sorry for myself that wheat gave me so much trouble but afyer years of LC/Atkins style with a few hundred slipups, I feel very sorry for people who can't eat dairy! I have some issues with it, diagnosed as allergic when I was a kid and boy howdee did it tear up my insides! I knew what labor would feel like at age 3! But I outgrew the allergy. |

Looks like the activity here may be slowing down for the holiday weekend.
I actually started calorie cycling - on my 3rd day I had a high day, about 1350 calories - all healthy until I had 2 svgs of gf ginger cookies - all starch and sugar, and the next day (yesterday) I woke up to no gain or loss so I was thrilled! Another VLCD yesterday, I ate both eggs and salmon, veggies, and a tbsp of coconut oil, and a bit of apple, and today, was down a pound. That's 6 lbs in 5 days so far. Another low day for me today, and another high day or medium day tomorrow. I am loving calorie cycling. If I go VLCD too long, it effects me mentally and physically, and why do that to yourself, if you can cycle and still lose, while making sure your body gets what it needs?! What a great system cycling is. Hey Curvecontrol - I was an allergic to milk baby too! I guess I outgrew it as I was able to tolerate it by the time I was an older kid, but throughout my life, I wish I'd avoided it, because I had an allergy/addiction to it. I never drank milk, but I ate a lot of cheese. After cutting it out, I did find that if I ate it, I had major intolerant reactions to it. I am gluten free and casein free - just like my DD who is turning three. Feel so much better, physically and mentally. Congrats to Jen for entering a new decade! And to Paula for showing your secret weightloss to your fam for the first time, that's exciting! When I tell my friends/family that I dropped 5 lbs over a few days, or that I'm in a period of fast weight loss... they all say, don't do it! Lose it slow! They'll all be surprised too, to see how small I get, so quickly, while being healthy, and maintaining in the long run. They just don't know what we do! One day, hcg will be mainstream! BTW, I'm in an hcg forum, in the rogue thread, a lot of folks were very interested when I brought the calorie cycling plan a la Dakota over there. We started a new calorie cycling and rogue maintenance thread today. We are experimenting with new abbreviations, because when calorie cycling, the whole VLCD1 etc. doesn't work. Here are my stats with the abbreviations we're using: (R1P2) CC1 L 159.5 CC2 L 156.5 CC3 H 154.5 CC4 L 154.5 CC5 L 153.5 CC stands for calorie cycling, and the number is the number of days we have been on the hcg. L,M,H stands for low, medium or high for the calorie cycling. For me, Low = 500-800 calories, medium = 800-1200, and high = 1200-1500. Last edited by lostfox; 11-24-2010 at 09:32 AM.. |

Just checking in-staying at P3-sorta-with no drops. scale wt bouncing 2-3 lbs, but the bodyfat is staying the same, so I am really pleased. Feel like this is truly stabilization for me.
Still plan on another round of drops starting Dec 1-maybe sooner if the spirit moves me. Will see how I survive T-day. Family agreeing a NOSUGAR holiday. hooray for us. |
