Has anyone used the low fat Cottage cheese option

for a protein source?

I was thinking that would be a nice treat on a less hungry day. Toss in a handful of strawberries and save the veggie for my snack instead of saving the fruit for a snack
Anyone do that? how did it work for you?

I've done the cottage cheese/spinach/cocoa/strawberry shake thing. Unfortunately, cottage cheese is a food I can binge on (I spoonful extra won't hurt, right? ) so I don't do it/buy it anymore.

I worry about that too. the single serving ones are about 113g. And TBH I don't think that is all that much over. I can scoop out a tsp and weigh it. I am really loving my kitchen scale more than I thought I would.

I think I will buy some when I go to the store today for the times I am either just not very hungry or am eating a late supper or just can't face another chicken tender.

I have yet to try it. I may actually - I think there is a shake that some people do with cc. Hopefully someone who uses it will post.

But dont hesitate to eat lean steak and lean hamburger.

I know cottage cheese works for a lot of people, but it never worked for me. I was always up the next day, and also hungry the next day. You'll just have to try it and see how it works for you.

I was able to have it in P3, though. Put lots of veggies in with it along with some pepper, and it was quite tasty.

thanks for the input Debbie. I am probably going to save it for a day when I just don't feel like I can face meat or am really jonesing for something sweet and put in the splenda and cinnamon like puttchikins posted. Plus it is something I can share with the baby. Feeding her and not taking just a tiny bite has been really tough.

i do a 1/2 c at dinner or lunch with a salad. I like that it's light if Im feeling bloated and want a change. I use the fat free from walmart brand.

I had the Baked Tomatoes Oregano (post #67 in the recipes sticky) a few times during my first round. I would usually experience a loss afterwards. I really enjoyed that recipe.

It's also really good blended with roasted canned tomatoes or a low-carb/sugar free pasta/tomato sauce and spices into a soup. (I like Whole Foods 365 brand pasta sauce, only 30 cals per 1/2 cup) I usually add a dash of stevia and balsamic, a little chicken broth, and garlic and basil. I had this many chilly winter evenings last year on P2, and it didn't affect my losses. Cottage cheese does have a ton of salt though, so I'd usually stay off the scale the day afterward to flush it out.

I did four ounces baked into a hollowed apple yesterday. Let me tell you four ounces of cc is not much at all. I did lose last night but gheez it's a tiny portion. I was pretty sure that I would be down today. I was a bit hungry last night. Didn't do the FF just the low fat Breakstones. I really like it but don't feel full on it. This is a great option for days when you can't find anything that looks good. It's very hard to only eat a small portion like that Probably shouldn't buy this again. Sigh!!
