Stay strong, L&F!

I loooove cooking when I'm on P2. I don't know why. The smells and visuals are so rewarding. Usually I'm meh about cooking for my SO, but he loves it when I'm on P2. Unfortunately he's on a cereal and milk kick right now and doesn't want me to cook for him as much.

Am sending out stay strong vibes to everyone on P2 right now!
Paula, did you ever experience this? Why would the smell, and sights, and visions of eating this food be bothering me today? Sure, I noticed Non-Protocol food before today...but today...was something different, and hard to explain in words.

Well, P3 is different than P2, and if you cheat...and you go out of your window...there's the "Steak Day." (Which to me sounds pretty good right now.) I don't think that 1 slice of bread would throw you out of your window, but it's just the thing about not following protocol.

Did you eat bread in P4? What did you add back in during P4. Some people said that they were eating EVERYTHING, and maintaining within their window!?!

It may be that your at 23 days...that's when my resolve starts slipping and I crave fattier foods. That's why I am only doing 23 day rounds now. I did one round of 28 days, lost NOTHING the last week, and craved every minute of that last week. Nope, not doing that again. I can commit to 23 days and that's it.

Thanks, Ladidah!!!!

He finished his two Patty Melts. So, the temptation is gone.

My temptations are the greatest while I am cooking, as it is easy to "taste" things while cooking, and no one will ever know.

Yep, I'm on day number 24. What do you mean by resolve, and what would make the cravings start? I plan on going 40 days, but if week four is a repeat of week two, I will, probably, call it....unless, I can become stubborn, and JUST GET THROUGH IT...to see what week 5 brings. When I asked if anyone, who experienced a slow week two, had any other slow weeks in a long P2...no one answered. For me, weight loss-wise, week 1 was great, week two was crappy, then...week 3 was great....and now, I'm into week 4...we'll see how it goes. If it's an every other week thing with the crappy stats, and the cravings are there (they weren't in week 2)...then, it will take one crabby, mean, old, b*tch to get through it....but, I've been called one of those before...sooooo....

I measured out frozen shrimp. 90g is a good size portion to me. I wonder if there will be more when they are thawed and the water drained off of them?

I know overweight people swear that they don't eat much, but looking at a sample day it realy is more actual food than I usually eat, just a lot healthier. I am hoping the hhCG drops keep me from craving stuff.

Yeah...how does it taste? And...is there not any starch in it? Since around here...it costs about $5/small loaf...it would be nice to have your input...if you've had it before.

Try to make sure that you get in your 200 grams of meat/day, as it is the minimum amount that your body requires to not cannibalize it's self...for protein (structural muscle).

It is precooked and individually frozen so I was figuring that I would need to measure smaller portions since I don't know precooked weight. Maybe just measuring it at 100g into a little zippy and then seeing what it weighs thawed would be a better idea.

I did not and don't do P4...am hypoglycemic...maybe still prediabetic but maybe better (would be nice to get new bloodwork done).

However, in the long run, for me, I do like to have a cheat (carby) meal every other week or so. For now I'm trying to save that stuff just for loading days, and trying to just load fat and not carbs since it works so much better for me. But lowcarb is my lifestyle for the long run...no IBS, no low blood sugar moments, etc, so it's definitely worth it to me.

My first round I did about 4 weeks P3...and it was really incredible how stable my weight was that last week, even with calories being really variable from day to day.

Look at these #s from my last week:
176.4 calories 2200
176.6 - 2060
176.4 - 2500
176.4 - 1700
176.2 - 1600
175.6 - 1590
175 - 2040
174.6 - 2000

Anyways, it was certainly fun! Even without adding carby foods in! That was so many more calories than I could eat on Atkins. On Atkins, if I ate over 1500 calories, I gained weight.

Yeah...I know that it SHOULD be different, and cooked meat would be less. Maybe go on ******, and see how many calories 100 grams of raw shrimp would be, and then put in the cooked shrimp, and keep adjusting the amount of shrimp until you get the same calories? I'm sorry that I can't help you out with this, as I never ate shrimp on P2 yet...I read about some people experiencing slower losses while eating it....and I know that everyone is different, but I didn't want to try it. I tried lean beef once...and even though it is Protocol, saw poor results for two days after. So, I have...except for one 100 grams pre-cooked weight peice of lean beef...ate chicken, and fish, every day for the entire time.

Wouldn't you be SURPRISED if this diet, actually, corrected all of those things for you?

I hope, that once you have hit goal, you go and have your bloodwork re-done. In researching this, on other web-sites, I saw it over, and over again, how people no longer had to take their medications for everything from high blood pressure to diabetes. They were even eating things in P4 that they never could before...due to tummy issues. I hope that this is the case for you. It's, actually, scary how being over-weight can alter so many things in a human body in a negative fashion.

How did you get that many calories in? I mean, what did you eat?

I remember on the 2500 calorie day I had half a stick of butter with shrimp, and an entire avocado with olive oil as dressing for a salad that night. I had a good time.

And for a lot of ladies here...those are paltry calories for them. But with my metabolism, I was thrilled. I mean I gained weight up to 232 pounds eating less than that!

It ALL sounds so good right now, but scary too. I was wondering...how is your Round 2 going? I've read that no two rounds are ever the same. Has yours mirrored Round 1? I have read of many Round 2's from h*ll, but...then...a good round three, and I am worried about it.

I was frustrated by staying on protocol and losing 0.2 one day just to gain 0.2 the next day. I wanted fattier foods and moved on to P3 after 28 days, even thought I had originally planned on doing 40 days. I feel my body was telling me something and I missed fattier foods. I stabilized perfectly that round in P3, and I was eating a lot. I did 2 weeks of P3, re-loaded (I had went 14 days, plus, I needed a loading day) and did P2 again. That is why I don't have a clearly defined round I'm on right now. I've done a few interruptions, and I feel eating a higher fat meal, plus some carbs, jump starts my losses again when I stall out.

Do you remember if you happened to have a slow week 2, and was your weight loss consistant up until then? I would have done the same thing too.

I'm so happy that you stabalized well. What kind of things did you eat? Did you eat Hellman's mayo at all? I think that there is a miniscule amount of sugar in it, and some people buy Duke's brand...but I can't find it by me, and I'm NOT ordering it.

Since your interruption, have your losses been just as good as earlier in P2? Is this how you plan on finishing up...until you've reached your ideal weight? (By cycling?) Just wondering what your plan of attack is.

All my rounds have been pretty similar...average .48 first round, .47 second, and .53 this last one. This last one was technically a resumption of round 2...I did P3 for 2 weeks then cycled back into P2 after a one day fat loading day.

I did a long round my first time and hated it. Won't ever do that again!

That's good to hear about your Rounds not being too different. Why did you end up hating your long round? Problems, other than getting sick of it?

This has been my experience so far:

Round 1
Week 1 9
Week 2 5
Week 3 0
Week 4 4
Week 5 3
Week 6 3

Round 2
Week 1 5
Week 2 2
Week 3 5
Week 4 1
Week 5 4
Week 6 4

No pattern, really.

Impossible to predict. IMO, you cross your fingers and go for it! Or don't. Most importantly, listen to your body.

Since shrimp comes in different sizes, and then bagged by the pound, the number on the front of the bag should tell you how many of those sized shrimp are in one pound. Take that number and divide by 4, because there are 16 oz in a pound, and you will get approx. the number of shrimp that are in a 4oz serving. If you want to go one or two less, fine, but shrimp is low in calories and you should be fine with the 4oz. My bag says there are 40 shrimp in it. Divide by 4 = 10. ten shrimp is my serving. HTH

I was down .6 today and that was after eating out (which always happens on the weekend!) I'm excited I only have one more week before P3 and thanksgiving. Come on cheese!

My first round (28 days) was like this:
Week 1 -6.6 lbs
Week 2 -3.6 lbs
Week 3 -5.0 lbs
Week 4 -0.4 lbs

Then after a 14 day interruption eating mostly P3 style and loading again I did 16 more VLCDs and the results were:
Week 5 -5.0 lbs
Week 6 -4.6 lbs
I ended the round there and started P3.

I ate mayo; not Hellman's but Kraft. It also has a tiny amount of sugar. I figured since I was eating fruit that has sugar, the little bit in the mayo wasn't going to hurt. I didn't keep a record of P3 eating, but it was basically Atkins induction + fruit.

I do plan on cycling until I reach goal. I can mentally only do 23 days of VLC. I need the P3 time to recharge a bit. I like eating low carb + fruit (I try t stick with lower carb fruit like berries). Two weeks and I'm ready to do P2 again.
