Hey guys, newbie on her first load day. Ive noticed a side effect that hasn't been mentioned that Ive seen. My hunger is way down (makes it harder to load but yay!) but my thirst is also way down. I drink a lot of water naturally cause I just like the taste, but so far today I have had half a glass in the time I would normally drink 2-3. Has anyone else had this happen?

Wow! What a busy thread. I am so happy to see all of the new faces here. Today was a higher calorie day. I was hungry today. The thing that seems to really help me in my rogue plan are:
1. Eat nothing after 7pm...okay to drink, just no food. 2. If I feel snacky; I chew sugar free gum or have a cup of coffee w/creamer 3. 6 small meals a day works miracles 4. Set mini goals 5. If I do indulge; I indulge for one meal...not the entire day 6. I eat my fruit 5 out of 7 days 7. I eat my veggies and mix them

You guys are all doing so great.
I am back for another round! I was on Phase 3 for 3 weeks, and did 1 week of phase 4. I'm bouncing around 5 lbs from my last LDW, and I am getting impatient. I don't WANNA wait another 2 weeks to start phase 2. *insert ranty-pouty smilie here* So... 3 weeks of Ph 4 be dam*ed! lol I ordered drops from Yavonae (sp?). They have arrived. Let the loading begin! I'm gonna load mostly low-carb this time though. And I'm just gonna load for 1 day. I'm THINKING of doing the 500(ish) cal plan for 1 week, then changing over to that calorie-switching plan that somebody posted a while back. But now I read about you guys just eating a regular diet, dosing and still losing weight and I'm torn. HMMMM... decision! ![]() |

Hey Ladies! I am so excited to have found your thread! I went rogue about half way through my first round and never turned back! I am on VLCD2 of my R3P2 and am excited to get the experimenting under way. I am a little nervous that it may not work because I inject and most of you seem to use the drops, but I guess we'll see! My plan is to stick to 500 cals 4 days a week, and then 3 days a week I will do my normal exercise (because I don't want to give it up) and have about 1200 calories. I usually burn at least 500 calories when I exercise. So I guess I am trying to incorporate exercise and calorie confusion to P2. I have not done the fruit or melba since the beginning of R1 because I am insulin resistant, but am planning to try fruit before working out. Any suggestions/thoughts/ideas about my plan? I would love any input any of you BIG LOSERS have!!! Glad to be here with you all!!! Oh, btw, I am planning for this to be about a 5 week round with a one-day interruption for Thanksgiving.

So glad to have you with us. I love your plan and look forward to your results. This is a very hard time to start, and you're doing a 5 week round? The only suggestion I had is that you try to have some protein with your fruit. I hear ya' on the exercise, I've actually missed it (been 2 months since I did my Zumba class!) and have toyed with adding it back in during P3. We'll see. I try to walk or bike, lower intensity, but really need/want to get back to lifting weights. Please come post often. We rogues are a friendly lot!Quote:
I debate it all too! I lose VERY slowly and did a week at about 1200-1500cals, LC, while dosing and gained 2lbs. So, I know for ME I need lower cals to actually lose. But, I'm metabolically resistant, hormonally imbalanced etc. But, losing slowly is still losing and I'm thrilled with my experiment. Come post often so we can cheer you on and learn from you too!Quote:
I actually started the strict protocol and was SO hungry I learned to drink more fluids to compensate. Now that the hunger is gone ( LC!) I still try for a lot of water. Many think it helps the losses. I'm sure it's a YMMV thing. Do what you think is best, maybe experiment with it a few days and see how it goes. I'm getting ready for bed. On call for work, which inevitably means a call at 3am that I can't really help anyway. So, hoping for a loss tomorrow, even though I won't likely have a good night's sleep. I had about 500 cals today, VLCarb, protein shake for dinner, 2-3cups coffee w/ cream, 1.5 chicken thighs. That's it. Any NORMAL person would see a big loss, but I'm hoping for 0.5lbs. We'll see in the morning. Nitey-nite!

Glad to have you here!! Love that your hunger is down, isn't that awesome? I never had the thirst go down myself, but I am a big water drinker and didn't notice a difference. I also drink water all the time just out of habit, thirst or not... I'd say make sure you DO drink lots of water though, you need it when you lose weight quickly.. happy losing to you!!! I started my DASH plan yesterday. I have a head cold from hell though, right now. ![]() Does anyone know if the Infusion has the $30 discount? I'm thinkin it is the Platinum. |

Morning all. Can't explain why I am up .3 on day 10?? Too much salt? I had a low carb low cal day yesterday and TOM is not coming. Ideas?
![]() When this happens I start to tell myself that it isn't worth it. Why work so hard for no results? Which is usually when I quit. But today I am trying to talk myself out of it. I lost 7 pounds in 8 days. That is great! But the scale better start moving in the right direction soon!!! ![]() Hope everyone else had a good loss last night. Stacey |

Down 0.9 pounds today. Not what I was hoping for but I'll take it. That brings my total to 5.3 pounds on Day 5. Not too shabby. Now if I could only stick to this pattern, I'll be looking pretty good for the holidays. I noticed yesterday that I have been weighing my proteins AFTER I cook them. What was I thinking? So, I will not do that again and for the next few days I am going to stay off the fruit. Not sure if the carbs are holding me back. Carbs are definitely my enemy. They stick to me like glue. I've done very well with Atkins before so hopefully cutting out the fruit will give me a little edge on more loss. We'll see.
Having this board to get different ideas and suggestions is so wonderful. Thanks to everyone who posts. |

Hello all....just a quick update. 198.6 this morning, down 1 lb. I'll take it. Had 27 ww points yesterday...hubby came in and wanted to take me to look at the cotton(he is a farmer), and to lunch....had a hamburger and french fries. Ate every bite. Also had breakfast yesterday....bowl of oatmeal with a half scoop of vanilla protein powder. And made turkey taco soup for supper(yummy, one of my fav ww recipes). So 1 lbs is great to me!

Good morning everyone!
I don't know what the deal is, but the very same weight 3 days in a row.....VERY SAME. 190.6! I don't get it - you would think you would see at least a tenth of a pound fluctuation. Obviously what I am doing now is not the ticket and I would hate to think that I have to do what I am doing now to maintain. Time to shake it up a bit, just don't know if my head is in it to do a "real" P2. Low carb with the JUICE doesn't seem to work. I guess I could keep doing it for a week or so to see what happens though. I got nothing but time. Never heard of the frozen pickle juice either..... I used to drink pickle juice. Interesting concept. Have no idea about food today. You all rock on!

Good morning all... I'm down another one pound today bringing my total loss in 9-days to a whoping 15.2 lbs.
Today I'm a little anxious and wanting P2 to be over... but I'm going to stick it out... I'm just going to mix up my menu a little and see if that helps my mood... the 2nd week is always so hard for me... hoping 3rd week I feel better..... Hoping everyone has some good losses today. |

Nutrition professor drops 27 pounds on 'Twinkie Diet' in two months
Not to sway anyone from their current experiment however wanted to share this article I read this morning on how this person lost weight on this extremely non-conventional diet. Enjoy!
BY Meena Hartenstein DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Tuesday, November 9th 2010, 5:03 PM Boyle/GettyProfessor Haub ate Hostess Twinkies and other junk food to shed pounds. Want to lose weight without giving up junk food? It may sound too good to be true, but nutrition professor Mark Haub proved you can have your cake and eat it too - by putting himself on a "Snack Cake Diet" and losing 27 pounds in 2 months. Haub, who teaches at Kansas State University, set out to prove that losing weight is simple: it's all about how much you eat, not what you eat. In other words, you can eat whatever you want, but you have to cut calories. He tested the theory on himself, trimming his calorie intake from 2600 calories per day to 1800, and eating meals consisting of food typically found in vending machines. According to his food diary, in an average day he would eat Duncan Hines brownies, Hostess Twinkies, Cool Ranch Doritos chips, Little Debbie cakes and Kellogg's corn pops. Haub started the diet on Aug. 25 as an experiment for his students, weighing in at 210 pounds with an “overweight” body mass index (BMI) of 28.8. He kept track of the results on his Facebook page "Prof Haub's Diet Experiments." After two months of eating the "unhealthy food," his weight dropped to 174 pounds, and his BMI is now a healthy 24.9. Surprisingly, in addition to his weight loss, his diet seems to have improved his other health stats. In the latest results posted to his Facebook page on Nov. 5, Haub says his "bad" cholesterol, or LDL, dropped 30 points from 153 to 123, while his "good" cholesterol, or HDL, went up from 37 to 46 points. His triglyceride level, another measure of fat, dropped 39 percent. "That's where the headscratching comes," Haub told CNN. "What does that mean? Does that mean I'm healthier? Or does it mean how we define health from a biology standpoint, that we're missing something?" Haub says the majority of his meals consisted of junk food. He did not drink much soda, drank a protein shake every day, and took a multivitamin daily. He also ate vegetables, often a can of green beans, to be a good example to his kids, CNN reports. He didn't do any special exercise regimen as part of the diet, sticking to the moderate activity he was accustomed to before he began the experiment. Dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner says it’s not surprising Haub saw health benefits in conjunction with his weight loss, even though he was eating heavily processed snack foods. "When you lose weight, regardless of how you're doing it -- even if it's with packaged foods, generally you will see these markers improve when weight loss has improved," Blatner told CNN. However she warned against the idea that it would be a good idea to stick to the plan in the long term. "There are things we can't measure...How much does [a lack of fresh fruit and vegetables] affect the risk for cancer? We can't measure how diet changes affect our health." Though he has seen the results on his own body, even Haub isn’t recommending that overweight Americans run out and try his plan. "I'm not geared to say this is a good thing to do," he told CNN. "I'm stuck in the middle. I guess that's the frustrating part. I can't give a concrete answer. There's not enough information to do that." He does, however, offer a warning to dieters who think they are eating healthy foods but have struggled to lose weight. "There seems to be a disconnect between eating healthy and being healthy," Haub said. "It may not be the same. I was eating healthier [before the diet] but I wasn't healthy. I was eating too much." Lose weight by eating junk food: Nutrition professor drops 27 pounds on 'Twinkie Diet' in two months
