Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
I've been SO hungry today. . I haven't been hungry in a long time. More interested in food than I've been in a while. I even had an apple - a HUGE one, today. It was really yummy! Not exactly LowCarb, I hope it won't hurt me too much. Since I'm stalled, even when doing 550cals a day I'm not losing, so I hope to stay here at 159.x tomorrow too. Just coming to confess. I'm gonna' try to keep it clean the rest of the day. Coulda' been worse .

I just got back from Old Navy. 30% off w/ friends and family-great deals! I tried on their jeans, which never fit me. And I was wearing 10's!! I never fit into their jeans, they're not "pear friendly" but I wore them. They looked pretty good, but were a bit too high waisted to come home with me. But I felt great!! Gotta' celebrate the NSV's too!!

Have a great day guys!!
I need new bras too!! So hard to tell what works anymore. If Dillards is having a bra sale, I may try to pop in there this weekend. I need new underwear too.

For us pears, I found the most awesome jeans -- they are Lucky Brand "Sweet n' Low". Don't let the name fool you, they are not too low (like when you feel like your pants are falling down and you are afraid to sit because your butt crack will be sticking out). They are absolutely one of the best fitting jeans I've ever found. And being the cheapskate that I am, I found them at TJ Maxx and at Nordstrom Rack (refuse to pay $100+ for jeans).

I think last year I spent $45 and came back with 5 new bras (and these were 40-60 dollar bras).

I've stitched all my old bras up so they fit for now. They're on the tightest notch, and I"ve sewn up the straps, and darted the cups inwards so they don't wrinkle across the cups. Very makeshift! 6 more weeks though...
Oh.... not til New Years Day. Bummer. Don't think I can wait that long.

I wear a pretty common size, but I insist on the higher end brands when it comes to bras. But if I find a good bra that works, I can get by with one and the wait and stock up on that day

Yesterday was my first P2 day and today I'm down 1.8 pounds from my start weight and 3.4 pounds down from my post load weight. But the most amazing thing for me is my cravings are way down. That is my downfall on most diets. If I crave something I will eat it even if I'm not hungry. But I haven't even had a twinge of junk craving yet. I may actually lose this weight! So excited.

Water Weight Relief

Below is the recipe that I've used several times in the past from Julian Michaels. It really works well when you have excess water retention (more than 5 lbs) like I do from time to time. You are supposed to be able to lose more than 5 pounds in 7 days depending on how much excess water weight you're carrying around

Get 60 ounces of distilled or pure water
Add a tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice
Add 1 dandelion root tea bag
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
You Drink the 60 ounces every day for 7 days

Hey Ladies! I agree with a lot of what has been said...it is hard to feel put out and isolated when following the protocol exactly doesn't work for you. I didn't have this experience on the other thread, like Paula, I felt very supported on my first two rounds! But now we have this area to openly talk about the things we do differently and that is AWESOME! We are all here to lose weight and the more support we can give and receive, the better!

Update on me...I was down 0.5 today for a total of 6.1 lb on VLCD5 Now, I did gain most of that loading, but I was 1.4 below the weight I stabilized at today so I am hoping to keep on chugging downward!!!

Keep up the great work everyone, I love it in here!

Chubby Hubbies ?

I may have mentioned this before, but if not, here's the whole story.

For the last 10 years...I have mostly outweighed my 6'1" DH. In July, when I first started hcg, he went thru a brief depression and lost weight (and muscle), then recovered and has been gaining weight ever since.

He brought it up last night, that he has been gaining weight, and we discussed that maybe there's something psychological going on. Wife gets slender = hubby gets chubby. I don't know if he has gained as much as I've lost, but it's probably close to it.

He is a pepsi / candy / oreo addict. Now, this is all better than when he was a beer addict! He hasn't been that for 7 years or so now. However I know the amount of sugar he is ingesting is just about as bad for his liver as the drinking was. I do really worry about what he's doing to his health.

And of course, I know, there's nothing I can do. I mean, there was certainly nothing he could have done to help me on my journey, he did the best thing by saying nothing at all.

Guess I'm wondering if anyone else's spouse is going thru the same thing?

For most of my loss so far I have used thinkhcgdrops. They worked fine for me, no hunger but of course I always upped my protein. Good luck hon, you should not starve!!!! no way!

I remember you mentioning this before, and there were several here who noticed the same thing with their husbands.. I am sure they will jump in here today, but I notice with my husband he is eating much more crap food than he ever did.

I don't even buy it anymore, but now he does? I wonder since he is buying these things now himself, he is choosing more sugary crap because he has always liked it, but never had to go shopping.. or if he is acting out in some way and not even realizing it. He is still of normal weight and works a very physical job.. but if he keeps this up, his insides will not be healthy at all..

I do think there is something psychological with the wife losing weight and this is just the way they handle it? I don't know of course, I am just doing some thinking out loud. In any case, I wish there was something we could do, but like you said, he has to realize that on his own.

Show him the love, and make him feel secure, that is what I have been TRYING to do anyway...

@ Marci, you're right, and they have more protein than the same brand's "protein shakes". loll
I'm still fluttering around a bit too, Dessa. I did the hHCG My Way for 8 months and did pretty well overall. Every Round was varied in length, every Phase time varied too. Tried to stretch the 'my way' into low carb/low cal and didn't lose anything for two weeks, except 2 lbs the first three or four days.

I'm STILL a full three pounds higher than what I have reached and I do NOT count it when I RE-lose pounds I've already lost once! One week into P3/4 as of today and I have gained three pounds back! Now I'm starting to worry again. I have eaten some delightful foods I haven't eaten in awhile but thought I was 'pacing myself'... oy vay! Honestly, I have probably been more P4 than P3 and I deserve the gain.

I say all that to say I understand your quandary and feel your pain!!

Good morning everyone! Week one is complete for me. I tried with all my might to keep things within reason this week with some experimentations with carbs. I do not think carbs are my enemy any longer. Here are some lessons I've learned this week. Btw, I am down 8 lbs for Week one:
1. Sharing my lunch is a great way to assist in portion control
2. When my body does not have a release...have a higher fat day with cheese and cream
3. In order to lose consistently; my percentages of protein, fat, and carbs need to be close to equal (i am speaking about the pie graph in fit day)
4. I feel great when i have 700 calories with one high day of 1500 a week due to a mostly seated job
5. Weekends are different...eat to live...don't live to eat. Therefore, if I am active and need more food. I will eat more food. If not, then my body won't crave more food.
6. Listen to my body. Make better choices.

Have a nice weekend ladies. I will check in later.

Same here! I've lost 51 lbs since January and DH has probably put on about 30-40 lbs in the same time period. He normally eats horrible unhealthy food anyway, lots of sweets and starches and carbs galore ... but now it's excessive. So far, it's all in his gut. I've nagged and begged him for years and years to eat healthier but he just keeps plowing through. Finally I gave up and don't say much any more. Sad state of affairs for sure. Meanwhile he's now on THREE bp meds to control his high bp. Easier to take drugs than make the effort to make good choices, eh? Sigh.
