Thank you Angela! That is my goal, to eat like a naturally thin person.. and I do have one daughter who is 17 who is a naturally thin girl. She always has been, not sure where she came from...

Anyway, yesterday after school she was eating something and she just stopped. She turned to me and said " do you think I have some sort of disease? When I am full and I try to eat one more bite, I feel like I am going to throw up ".....I said NO HONEY, you have that natural stop sign that I am missing.... That is what I strive for. When my BODY has had enough, I just cannot take one more bite.

I am pleased that yesterday's wt held through my up day (1200 cals-10 carbs) So today is a down day as planned. Guess this is still R1 even though I didn't start losing for almost 3 weeks, until I cut out all the carbs and upped the protein. I sure have a stubborn body, grateful it still carries me around.

I almost don't consider myself on any 'hcg round' any more, even though I call it 'Round 5' since I'm SO rogue I'm really just doing Atkins Induction now with the 'juice'! And I CAN do Atkins or just low carb ... for life. For me, it's the healthiest and best way to live and the juice is an added bonus just to help me with that low carb lifestyle! I will be glad when I can raise the calories a bit AND the fat!

Hello. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and seeing success on their plan.

Thank you so much to everyone who cheered me on.

Pati, I think you need to change your stats. There is no “ugh” in that avatar photo just lots of gorgeous.

Deb, I love that you are losing on your maintenance week. What fun.

Paulabob, mysterious is the word for it! This weight loss thing can be so much more complicated than calories in and calories out. Congratulations on the 2.2lbs

BlueMonday, the last 8 lbs – wow! I can’t wait to get there. Congratulations on the size 8!

Violet Skye congratulations on the one inch. “The juice that makes pants loose”! I love this. And a big woohoo! For size medium!

Julieboolie, your stats are amazing. What an incredible job you have done. Congratulations on the new jeans.

Susique – awesome job!

Marci, congrats on the pound loss.

Nitenurse excellent loss!

Okay, I now have severe anxiety that I may have forgotten someone. Obviously this thread must be responded to frequently or it becomes overwhelming. I am cheering each and every one of you on!

Today is one week since I started loading and began my Rogue Experiment. I am doing this as a vegetarian and feel like there is no path to follow. It’s fun to blaze my own. The good news, I have lost 9lbs and I feel great. The bad news – what bad news?

Here is a typical day for anyone interested.

First wake up 2 cups of coffee with cream.

First meal 2 scoops of Vega meal replacement powder ( vanilla chai flavored) and 16 oz of Blue Diamond unsweetened Almond Breeze. This is perfect for me because I have a hard time with solid foods first thing so I like having something I can drink down.

In the afternoon – A big salad with lettuce, cucumber, radishes, cherry tomatoes, sea salt and salsa for dressing. Not mixing my vegetables was the hardest thing for me on protocol so this salad gives me a thrill every day.

Second meal 1 scoop of NOW Whey protein powder vanilla flavored mixed with one cup of 2% Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt and ˝ cup of pumpkin and pumkin pie spices. I find it quite tasty and very filling.

I sometimes have a third cup of coffee with cream in the afternoon.

This gives me a total of 832 calories with 24.2g of fat, net carbs of 49.7 (98.9 without fiber subtracted) and 84.2g of protein. Whew! Was that information overload?

I can see from just one week, that this could work in the long run. I MUST follow a HIGH day with a low or mid day to take off any temporary water weight or I will keep that gain. So up/ down/ mid/ up/ down/ mid. This is working for ME at this stage.. I would imagine as I lose more weight and get down closer to goal, I will have to make the adjustments in calories DOWN. common sense...

To everyone and all of your experiments, GOOD LUCK!! I hope everyone finds what works for YOU!!! Have a great weekend, I'll check in later...
Wow, love that!! Eat like a "natrually" thin person!! WTG!!! and losing to boot? WTG!!!

Chocolate sounds really good lately. 2 days ago I went crazy and ate a LOT of homemade low carb vanilla ice cream that I had made some time back, and poured a large amount of Hershey's SF chocolate syrup over it. After so long without having had any, it was like heaven! LOL
Yesterday I went farther rogue and used HWC in my coffee....ahhhh bliss.....

Deb,
Refresh my memory....are you still using the drops while doing your diet vacation?

I have been really hungry the past 3 days so I have continued the drops, but have splurged a few times (as in the ice cream binge!). I have been using the drops for 4 weeks. Monday will start week 5 and I think I will continue the drops and see if I continue to lose or just maintain. My loss has been much slower than everyone else' seems to be, but at least its a loss. Beginning week 3 I started feeling more energetic.
At that point I was in FL where the weather is conducive to being outside walking. Back in OH now and not as motivated due to the weather, not due to lack of energy. So that is actually an improvement over where I was when I started this journey.

I am not at my goal and am a bit afraid to stop using the drops for fear of regaining what little I have lost.....oh decisions decisions!
Ah, fat. I love fat (eating it, not being it ) You're doing great!! I'm dosing through my "interruption" too. I'm up 2lbs from my low, but it's ok. I'm going back to VLC on Monday and know it'll be off soon.

Busy, beautiful weekend here in AZ. We'll be doing a block party at my house tomorrow which will be a blast. I'm making chicken tortilla soup (I'll have mine w/o the tortillas, but the rest is on plan). Should be a lovely weekend. I'm not even tempted by the candy. It's been 7 years since I've indulged in Halloween treats. I think this qualifies as a habit at this point !

Be strong guys!!

Yes, that signal and the ability to hear it and follow it. That is what we'd all like to have.

I think that the up and down days really is a good prep for living life after goal and maintaining. Everyone is going to indulge sometimes and I really think that the key is to not just keep indulging once you've started. It should become a natural rhythm to eat less the next day, and maybe even the next few days, depending on the level of indulgence. I think that is how thin people eat.

I am happy to be at a new low. I actually had a release two days in a row, which is rare for me especially this close to goal. It is usually down, then bounce up a bit, then back to original down, then staying there, then maybe another down. So I dipped down to 146.8 today.... weird to be so close, but also thrilling.

Went to Nordstrom Rack and tried on 15 pairs of jeans.... why can't they make jeans that are no so low that it feels like your butt is falling out, or so narrow through the hips and thighs that you feel like you are trying to stuff yourself into a sausage casing?? The only alternative then being the "old lady" high-waisted jeans. Very frustrating.

Oh well, I guess there are worse things to complain about.

That menu looks really good. I mean really good. Its got me thinking that something I would like to try. And 9 pounds lost.

Ally, thanks for the recipe. I tried to make it out of my head but it was disgusting. I threw it out. I just tried 3 tbsp of cocoa and some coconut oil without measuring. Blech. Now I will try it your way.

To avoid the unpleasant oily taste, I only used 3/4 cup of coconut oil and about 1 1/2 cup of the cocoa. Perfecto and all I taste is the Special Dark Cocoa, just as it should be!

You CAN tweak it many ways. I've added and blended in vanilla protein powder or almond butter or peanut butter or coconut creme or finely chopped nuts or just about anything that you can come up with!! Also depends how rogue you are!

Who's up for some math?

I did the number-crunching for last week, including all the food I loaded, and I was 127 points over what I should have eaten. Which should have resulted in a gain of 2 pounds, more or less. But since I am juicing, I was...

Wait for it....

Down 1.8 pounds! At first, I was channelling Miss Peggy Lee (Is that all there is?) but after doing the math and realizing that a) I have been on WW for a looooong time, and since I am not a newbie, there is no "water weight" to lose, b) at the very least, the 1.75 cups of chunky PB I snarfed down would ordinarily leave me chunky but didn't, I will do a Dance of Joy!

My observations: On the days that I work out, I biologically need extra food. Cravings (a.k.a. head hunger) are pretty close to non-existent, even when I'm watching Guy Fieri have foodgasms. I can distinguish between being thirsty and being hungry. My appetite is not really suppressed per se, but it's "managed" on the juice. I can certainly do another 5 weeks of this (until the drops run out) and I should be 10 pounds lighter at the end! This is fantastic!!!!

Thanks for the recipe Ally. I shall get my chocolate fix!!

Joyful,
That Vega vanilla chai sounds really good. Is that a vegan protein powder?

Deb,
I totally get what you mean about our bodies not recognizing when they are full. Its frustrating. When I hear people say that they ate so much for lunch that they won't be hungry for supper I think WTH? I never feel that way! I think I am blessed with a
fairly high metabolism though (or I was when I was younger)and I am thankful for that.

Glad you found something that works! I am just very pleased that I am losing more weight than calories - in / calories out says I should. Is it the juice? Is it the plan? I don't know, but in all my years it's never happened.

Yes, I think it's been about 5 years for me. I do have my 90% Lindt chocolate in case I need a "fix". But I'm a chip girl, not a candy girl, so I normally get thru Halloween to New Year's with flying colors. Sending strength to all my rogue buddies today. Will even pray for us at church today.

I am totally with you. I've got a big belly and largish waist, so ALL lowrise jeans give me muffin top. Have to go with old-lady styles (I usually end up with Gloria Vanderbilt jeans since they tend to be roomy in the waist). And no matter what...I get the saggy butt going on. Although I love my weight loss, I keep checking out my butt in the mirror and feeling just a little bit sad for it. Where has it gone! And where is my chest?

Those are great results! I did great with WW once but stalled at the end...even doing every suggested Plateau Buster from their booklet for 12 weeks. Then I kept going back every 6 months or so...would lose 2 pounds the first week, 1 pound the second, then nothing weeks 3 and 4 and would give up. So watching you lose weight with EXTRA points...that's FANTASTIC!

Yes, even as a "thin" person - I as 98 pounds in high school, I never missed a meal or felt too full to eat a meal. Maybe that was the hypoglycemia. But keep in mind, I didn't have a fast metabolism. I would eat half or less what my peers ate...one slice of pizza would be a meal, or half a sandwich. I gained weight on a 1200 calorie diet in junior high (I was in "husky" jeans and trying to slim them). Definitely didn't have a raring metabolism. It's why I worry about that cute daughter of mine...she's only 11 and 62 pounds, but it's because she eats extremely little...no fast metabolism. Plus she's got her father's sweettooth. One day it might cause her everything I've been thru...I would so hate that for her.

Wow, forgot to post that I've hit a new decade today! 159.8 - that qualifies! Do the Happy Dance with me! Also did my calf raises and wall sits yesterday, and dropped the body fat percentage into 35.9! COOL!

Well without any juice I am lost weight this morning. I dropped .6 so almost what TOM brought with him. Now if he would just get the heck out of my house and take the rest of his baggage with him I will be happy.

Yes it is, but it is a bit more than that too as it is a total meal replacement. Its nutritional profile is rather amazing really. It gives 100% of RDA of just about everything plus other nutritional goodies as well. I think it has a lot to do with why I am feeling so much better this round. It isn't cheap, but I am spending a lot less on groceries so I figure it all works out especially if it gives me the energy I need to reach my goal.

Down another .4 today not bad since TOM is due any moment.

WTH, Now I'm Dreaming About Sweets

So now, I'm dreaming about sweets, for all that is holy, and what worst, I think the Chocolate Delights has increased the cravings, so in the trash they go! . I really envy people that could have a serving of chocolate or a cookie and be completely satisfied.

I've been planning all month to take today off and eat some Halloween goodies however I seem to be losing the same 1 - 2 pounds over the past three weeks despite the inches I'm losing. This happens every time I go on a diet. When I was on WW two years ago, I plateau for 5 months, just 15 lbs from my goal. No matter what I ate or how much I modified my workout, I could not get that scale to go down . After that, I just gave up and ate out of frustration.

It's taken me a year to get the weight loss going again, successfully, despite numerous attempts. I really wish that I did not care so much about the number on the scale and just went by how my clothes are fitting. But lets be honest, we want bragging rights, we want to be at our goal weight and whatever inches/dress sizes we lose is a bonus.

Having the opportunity to journal on this forum has been a blessing however I know too well that this is an individual sport and the onus rest solely on me to get that scale moving downward. I also need to remember to not let someone else's' weight loss success drive me to throw in the towel, AGAIN !

Congrats on the loss!!!
Sure throws the calorie theory out the window!! Now I have to ask you, how did you eat that much peanut butter?... OMG.. you must love it!!....

Deb,
I totally get what you mean about our bodies not recognizing when they are full. Its frustrating. When I hear people say that they ate so much for lunch that they won't be hungry for supper I think WTH? I never feel that way! I think I am blessed with a
fairly high metabolism though (or I was when I was younger)and I am thankful for that.
You are losing well while eating, woo hooo!!
Thank you, I don't know how this is happening, and I am being serious. This has never happened to me before. I have never been able to eat so much and have losses or not gain much. As I have said so many times, it HAS to be the juice! I am doing nothing else different. I am eating A LOT of food. Wierd.

Wow, forgot to post that I've hit a new decade today! 159.8 - that qualifies! Do the Happy Dance with me! Also did my calf raises and wall sits yesterday, and dropped the body fat percentage into 35.9! COOL!
Exactly my thoughts!!! And congrats on your loss and a NEW DECADE!!!

Congrats on the loss especially with TOM looming in the distance. I will be trying a protein drink week because I am out of drops and would like to keep hunger at bay. The drinks sound like a nice break from all of the meat that I have been eating. Believe it or not I am getting sick of eggs as well, so I want to try this way. I found the NOW protein powder but was unable to find the vega protein. I will go out and find it at a vitamin or health food store today. The chai sounds so yummy. Do you add any artificial sweetener to the fage yogurt? I cannot stand fage yogurt because it tastes tart to me.

So much for my planned down day-I didn't eat all day and had a large steak, and then was so hungry I ate 2 more meals before bedtime. About 2000 cals for the day, which is ok for me. BUT, the lesson, for me is not to try to go all day without eating, and then eating a 800 calorie steak.
Back to square one will have a couple meals today, and lower calorie, and that has been working fine for me.
Good news, I was only up a couple pounds which is wonderful, and today feels ok, no hunger.

I am SOOOO ready for the holidays. I did some experimental cooking this weekend, so I wouldn't ruin everyone else's meal on Thanksgiving, but some survival stuff for me.
I made a "stovetop stuffing" of onions, butter, Pork sage flavored bulk sausage (cooked) pecans, thyme-and some chopped up konjac noodles for a little bulk.(It's really good) I made some gravy by heating some chicken broth and thickening it with some glucomannen-like the taste better than other years when I tried some Xanthan gum. Had to boil it a little before it would thicken up. Last year I made some "fruit cake" of the one minute muffins, added cinnamon, nutmeg, walnuts and raw cranberries, that was good too. Also some cheesecake made with cottage cheese, and some almond flour cookies.
So Thanksgiving day may be 2000 calories-but it won't wreck the whole plan, or the next day.
Today, for a leftover, I made a bowl of the stuffing+leftover baked chicken+that gravy and my count for the day is 700 cals-I really hope this will let me survive both Tday and Xmas.
I am beginning to think the secret of life is looking ahead at the pitfalls.

That sounds really good nitenurse!

I have not even thought of Thanksgiving yet, but I know I won't be holding back much. I will stay as low carb as possible, but since I am going to my Mom's, I am sure I will have to try SOME things...

I am not sure we need a new weekly thread yet, only 7 pages, so I think we can stay in here another week or so.. seems to be slowing down with the holidays coming, and less dieting going on maybe?.... Oh well, I'm here for the long haul and hope you guys are too!!!...

This steak day thing on Protocol really never made sense to me. Why would he have you go ALL DAY LONG not eating, only to eat a HUGE steak at night?

If I was going to do a steak day, it would be a HUGE steak, spread throughout the day. Same calories, but not the feeling of starving then getting incredibly full. Or in nitenurse's case, setting off the hunger alarm so late in the day.

Really never will understand his reasons, nor would I ever do it since it goes so against everything I know to be true for ME.

Just MY opinion of course.

Deb, its funny you talk about this. I read the Omaha site today and they talk about this point exactly. They do not believe in apple days or steak days. They think that if you do eat more calories (in their program 700 cal.) it is better than 500 and that you are supposed to just wait it out and your body has no choice but to drop weight on a low calorie diet. Makes sense to me. I have done intermittent fasting but when you do get to the end of the day you tend to gorge.

Tonight I was such a rebel. I mixed not just two veggies but three! I made a broccoli, onions, red pepper egg bake with some cheddar. It was delicious. I feel like a little devil.

Today was a total bust for me! Had a church potluck and wow can we do FOOD!!! Plus it was "Pastor Appreciation Day" so we had a BIG CAKE on top of all the cakes and pies brought in! I didn't do TOO bad tho ... one piece of fried chicken, some green beans, raw carrots & cauliflower w/ranch dip ... two pieces of cake and a small dish of vanilla ice cream ... oh, and I chocolate chip cookie!!

I thought, dang, I'll have a green salad for dinner but then I thought, doggone, the day's a bust anyhow why not try the lasagna your hubby made for the potluck? Oy vay. Yes, I seized the opportunity and it was delish! So the whole day's been shot to blazes.

BUT tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity for success!!

Sounds like a yummy day!! That's a lot of temptation!! You've got the right idea, tomorrow's a new day. Back on the wagon. Maybe this will shake it up for you too?

I"m sure I'll be up a bit tomorrow. I had a Huge salad at lunch and am sure there was some sugar in the dressing (raspberry based), some tortilla chips in my soup and some beans, much higher carbs than I've had in weeks. I didnt go crazy, resisted many temptations, but didn't avoid it all. It's ok, the last day of P3 for me. Back to P2, rogue way, tomorrow. See ya' in the morning.
