I LOVE the taste of heavy cream, but I use 1/2 & 1/2 most often. I use about 6-8 T. a day. Coffee is my "go to" when I feel snacky.

The lowest quote I got was Blue Cross at $650 per month. (AND I would have to wait 6 months before they would start covering the pre-existing conditions) Are they joking??

Julie-I cannot believe how far you have come. You are amazing for what you have accomplished. I wish you luck in losing those last few pounds. I cannot wait to be in your situation.
Susan-Insurance is ridiculous. I cannot believe that is the lowest quote. The insurance I get from my work sucks a lot, but it is something.

Jennifer, I finally found something that works for me, I like my coffee "light". I use coconut milk which is 40 cals/cup plus a splash of cream or half and half. It tastes rich but has much less calories than the way I did drink it, which was lots of half and half, about 4 cups (of coffee) a day.

So far, going rogue is working for me. R1P1VLCD 13, twelve pounds lost. No ups and downs, just a steady downward trend. Basically I am eating about 5 oz of meat per meal with a vegetable or several vegetables per meal, two meals per day and an apple or bowl of strawberries. A couple of times I had whey powder in a smoothie with the strawberries. I sometimes have a couple of slices of cheese. I always drink my coffee with coconut milk and cream. Any type of meat, I ate beef mostly. Other than the apple I am eating regular low carb type meals, just trying to keep my portions smaller. Probably 800-900 calories a day. I did have Italian dressing on salad at least 3 of those meals. So I am feeling quite well, not hungry or having any strong cravings. If the weight loss slows down I will decrease my calories, but for now I am a happy camper in this town!

Thanks!! I've been down the majority of my weight for the past 6 years. I have been in the size 14 range for the past 2-3 years, and long to be an 8 again. I'm beginning to think it's really possible. I'm in 10's now, and having a lot of fun!! I am even thinking about shooting for the 140's. I was obese all my life, and am actually still adjusting to the "new" me. You're doing well too!! you'll look back on this time with a smile one day soon.

LOL! Eating like a queen is great!! I had a salad again tonight - horror! I'll likely pay for that on the scale tomorrow, but I want my body to accept salad as a normal part of life!! LOL!

I would love to experience and believe the hypothalmus adjustment part of this plan that would enable me to eat like a "normal" person one day, but I suspect my carb sensitivity will be with me all my days. It's not so bad, I'm used to LC and have found what works for me in maintenance. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain when I'm done losing! Not sure about my "goal" yet. I'm gonna' go lower, and see where I end up .

Happy so far though!! Ya' gotta' love the juice!!

I'm trying to do the same thing you are, basic low carb meals with 800-900 calories a day. Some days I do it, some days I don't. I love Italian Dressing and just do that with mct oil & apple cider vinegar and some sweetener and spices! I do take fish oil again and still take my coconut and mct oils too.

You are an inspiration! Wish MY results were like yours! Perhaps IN TIME?

Well, finally, some of the water wt left-5# worth. So I will claim that as a loss, since the inches are still coming off, Will stay the lowest carb I can do for a few more days, Plan today to have 2 servings of meat of some kind, looks like it will be turkey and beef. Yesterday I had 1 serving, a pork chop and a protein shake. That was my low day, probably about 600 cals. Am able to start exercising a little again (dancing). Nothing new or strenuous. Feels good, gets rid of some of my aches and pains.

I made Zero Carb Oopsie Rolls and Chocolate Delight today. The Oopsie rolls came out perfect and tasty, even the dog likes them. I used two of them to make a mouth watering cheeseburger with bacon. Tomorrow's breakfast will be a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, YUMMO!

The chocolate delight came out perfect as well. I love dark chocolate so I made them with Hershey Special Dark cocoa. I used tiny cupcake liners and made 20 small pieces of chocolate. I sure hope this will help me overcome the Halloween candy and sugar cravings I've been having lately.

I reached a happy Medium last night - a new skirt and jacket in Size M after having been a 2X!!! Last week, I know the jacket would not have fit as well - I've received a rash of "You're losing more weight" comments this week, so tomorrow a.m. can't come soon enough.

Zero Carb Oopsies Recipe, ENJOY!

This recipe comes from Cleochatra's "The Lighter Side of Low Carb" blog. Your Lighter Side...: Oopsie perfection at a good price

Makes 6 @ about 85 calories a piece, >1 carb per.

Ingredients

3 large eggs
1 packet of Splenda (I didn't use the Splenda)
1 dash salt
1 pinch cream of tartar
3 ounces cream cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Separate the eggs and add Splenda, salt, and cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together.

In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you're using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture).

Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites.

Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.

Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store them in a bread sack or a ziplock bag to keep them from drying out.

I beat the egg whites until they were fluffy and had peaks, 2 - 3 minutes or so, however after I mixed them with the yolks, it kind of lost some of it's fluffiness.

The secret is to slowly and gently fold the egg yolk mix into the egg whites. Try not to deflate the whipped up egg whites. The fluffier the better.

Well I am in a grumpy mood. I ran out of drops today. I thought I would have enough for at least 4 days but I ran out today and the new ones haven't arrived even though I ordered them on the 20th. There is no where in Vancouver to buy them. So needless to say I am heading into P3 even though I didn't want to be done P2 rogue style. I am 6 pounds away from where I wanted to be too. So now I have to try and drop that 6 pounds without the magic "juice". If I could use my "outside voice" right now I would.

Good morning all... One week down on my maintenance experiment and I have a net loss of 1.2 pounds.. Very excited about what this could mean!!.. I have continued my cycling plan of high, mid, low days of calories/carbs. I just added extra calories to each day to try to maintain.

I can see from just one week, that this could work in the long run. I MUST follow a HIGH day with a low or mid day to take off any temporary water weight or I will keep that gain. So up/ down/ mid/ up/ down/ mid. This is working for ME at this stage.. I would imagine as I lose more weight and get down closer to goal, I will have to make the adjustments in calories DOWN. common sense...

To everyone and all of your experiments, GOOD LUCK!! I hope everyone finds what works for YOU!!! Have a great weekend, I'll check in later...

Ok, todays once a week official weigh in is 202. And before people say "that's not much?" I have to say I did more UP days (+- 1400) this week than down, ate pretty much what I want tho low carb and did the drops. Effortless to me!! Slow and steady wins the race!! Im offically retiring my size 18P jeans, they look stupid on my buns!

Glad you're figuring it all out for you Deb! That's they key, finding out what works for YOU! I am slowly working on getting my calories back down and have finally dropped another pound. I think my 'sweet spot' is about 800 calories or less. I can't see how I can get it less and keep the carbs low tho! I want to find my 'ideal' calorie level [and ultimately my idea carb level too] before I start fiddling with the ups & downs in the calories! Are you counting carbs too or just calories? I forgot.

Learning as I go like everyone else!

Allykat,
Can you please share the chocolate delight recipe? Is it low fat or low carb?
Chocolate sounds really good lately. 2 days ago I went crazy and ate a LOT of homemade low carb vanilla ice cream that I had made some time back, and poured a large amount of Hershey's SF chocolate syrup over it. After so long without having had any, it was like heaven! LOL
Yesterday I went farther rogue and used HWC in my coffee....ahhhh bliss.....

Deb,
Refresh my memory....are you still using the drops while doing your diet vacation?

I have been really hungry the past 3 days so I have continued the drops, but have splurged a few times (as in the ice cream binge!). I have been using the drops for 4 weeks. Monday will start week 5 and I think I will continue the drops and see if I continue to lose or just maintain. My loss has been much slower than everyone else' seems to be, but at least its a loss. Beginning week 3 I started feeling more energetic.
At that point I was in FL where the weather is conducive to being outside walking. Back in OH now and not as motivated due to the weather, not due to lack of energy. So that is actually an improvement over where I was when I started this journey.

I am not at my goal and am a bit afraid to stop using the drops for fear of regaining what little I have lost.....oh decisions decisions!

WHO WOULD SAY THAT??? Dang Susan any loss is fantastic, and slower will hopefully make sure it sticks... that is certainly MY HOPE!!! So the most important thing is that you ate WELL, was SATISFIED and you still lost! Sounds like a winner to me!!! Congrats!

Marci, it really is an experiment we all have to go through. IN my opinion there is no one size fits all ANYTHING. Even the Protocol is an individual thing. That is why there are choices on there. Anyway! Congrats on the loss this week, and in finding your sweet spot!!... excited for you girl!!..

YES, I am continuing the drops... I feel so much better on them, and can keep control much much better! Will I continue indefinately?... No, but I will continue until goal most likely.

I hope you start to feel less hungry, maybe your body is telling you to eat more?. You have been doing this for some time now, and I found after 3 weeks of VLC my body was HUNGRY, and forcing me to eat more.. even with the drops... who knows? It is up to you, but that is what I would do.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, it really does know what is best most of the time... good luck to ya!!!....

Deb that is fantastic that your experiment is working. It sounds as if you are eating as a naturally thin person.

I am up this morning because TOM barged in last night. I hate unwanted uninvited guests. Lol. They bring baggage with them - exactly .8 of a pound. I feel so puffy like a stay puff marshmellow man.
