Refresh my memory. Are you doing VLCD or low carb or alternating them both? If you are alternating them, how are you doing it exactly? So you are doing EITHER low cal OR low carb but not low cal AND low carb, right?

When you say 'higher fat version' how much higher are you talking? Does going higher with the fat impede the loss at all? I'm trying to stay low cal AND low carb and it's difficult for me and I'm thinking raising my calories might help with the loss ... odd as that sounds even to me!!!

BUT he said flat out that taking hcg orally doesn't work and he was talking about the Rx!!! Geesh. So much for expanding your horizons!!

But he DOES use a transdermal Rx hcg cream! Never heard of that before.

I know one thing, Dr. Abbott's clinic is firmly into ONLY Rx and ONLY injections and is VERY expensive. Still, it's nice to read the info on the site just the same.
I don't care what ANYONE says about it... HHCG WORKS!!... it is no placebo, and the ones who say it does not work, are those selling the RX usually.. I know for a FACT that I could not lose 70 pounds in this amount of time without it.... grrrrrrrrrrrr

Hey Marci-When I call it VLC - I'm referring to low calorie, for me. I am a LCer (low carber) by habit at this point in my life and I do low calorie days as my "P2". I keep my carbs really low, and add more fats and higher protein than the Simeon's protocol. I don't do many veggies,, and no fruit or cracker/bread option. I have coffee and cream for bfast, meat of some kind for lunch (about 300-400 cals worth) and smaller protein meal for dinner (lately it's been a protein shake, but could be a small burger or shrimp, or chicken). My cals come out around 700-800/day on my low days. I'm not cycling daily, I'm doing 2 weeks (hopefully!) of low calories, then I will go up to Atkins induction like eating to "maintain" while I have company and get through Thanksgiving. I'll probably cycle back to the low calorie in early Dec. for a week or 2 and see how it goes. I usually gain 2lbs during that week of P3, but lose it right away when I go back to the low calorie. Not sure how the maintenance part will go for me long term. I will have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

Depending on where I am after Thanksgiving I may try that cycling throughout the week that Deb and several others are doing. For me, mentally, this works. I love the fat, and had chicken parm (homemade, very little sauce, "breaded" with grated parm) for lunch yesterday. Yummy! and I am down 1.2 from yesterday. Love this stuff!!

Hope that helps, and I didn't just confuse you further. I'm excited to see how low I can go before the holidays overwhelm me. Hopefully I can maintain w/i 2 lbs of it while not missing out on some good holiday meals through the end of Dec. We'll see.

Thanks for sharing that ... good to hear what you're doing and how you're doing!

I make a chicken parm dish that I grew up on ... you just coat the chicken with a mix of dried parm cheese, spices, bread crumbs and flour. Of course I tweak it a bit and omit the bread crumbs/flour and it still has a wonderful crunchy taste to it!

This sounds something like what I was doing before deciding to do another round on HCG! I was pretty much doing VLC/ZC while keeping my cals low on certain days. It works!!

This is essentially what I do, except that I try to throw in some higher calorie days so that my body doesn't get too acclimated to the VLC. The higher days typically end up being on weekends when I often don't have as much control over what is being offered and amounts.

Previously, after 23 days on P2 I was done. Could not stay on it any loner. Doing it this way I can keep in this "losing" phase longer, which is working better for me. When I am at goal, I will do a P3 and experiment w/ calories and amounts to keep myself within my window. And at P4, I'll introduce some other foods. But I fully expect that an LC lifestyle will be a lifelong thing for me. Maybe something where I eat carbs one or two days a week and not the others. Whatever kind of rhythm ends up working for me is what I will do. But I think this weighing everyday thing and taking corrective measures immediately will be key!

Today, I am below my low weight from Sat morning by .4 lb (after bouncing up from my naughty behavior on Sat night and Sunday -- many sugar-free pecan clusters were consumed, not to mention the wine).

Thanks!! I just used some store bought spag sauce. Gave the rest to the fam w/ some Dreamfields. It's a crowd pleaser. Even the leftovers were yummy!! Sorry to tempt you all

Thanks for the on my plan. It's working for me, and sounds like it's effective for you guys too!! Wonder if Dr. Simeon and Dr. Atkins would enjoy a lively conversation?

WTG on the loss!! you're so close to goal!! you'll have to be the guinea pig on the maintenance part. I'm afraid to try it w/o the juice!! You sound a lot like me. Did the 23days by the book and couldn't get to P3 fast enough!! With the rogue plan I don't mind lowering the cals, don't feel as deprived or even hungry.

You're all doing great!! Dropping some serious weight ladies!! I'm happy to lose up to a lb a day, and you're all dropping twice that!! WOW!!

Pati-where'd your pretty pic go? I avi's w/ pics, and yours was so pretty! So glad Deb finally put a pic up . It's nice to have a pretty face to go with the posts .

Ok, must go accomplish something. Did all the MAJOR grocery shopping and saved a lot, but was really hungry so probably overbought. Oh well, it'll get eaten eventually!

Today's Eats:
B: Tea, honeycrisp apple, 1 liter of water
L: Chilli + broccoli, 1 liter of water
S: 1/2 bag of 100 cal popcorn (this is allowed on Dr. Abbotts OWL plan )
D: Scrambled eggs, tea

Resting from the gym today.

What are you all eating today???
Hi I just wanted to say congratulations on your loss so far... and wanted to know if you are close to your goal wt. of 145? .... cause your tracker says you only have 6.6-lbs. to go for a total of 12-lbs.... if I'm being to nosey.. then I apologize... I just love it when people reach their goals....

P.S. did you do hhcg for all your wt. loss so far?...

Signed... Ms. Nosey.

Julie, are you dosing when you do the higher calorie days or no dosing? Just trying to figure out what's working for everyone. I DO NOT want to go off the drops again and make such a mess of things. Although, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the weight came back off and the losing began again.
I know that, like you, I will definitely be eating Atkins Induction style to maintain my weight loss. It's the only thing that works for me.

I would imagine the lower the cals/ the better the losses.. However you have to weigh that with what makes you feel satisfied and that you can stick to.. It really is a tradeoff!

Good luck to ya.. either way the drops really do work, just find what works best for YOU!....

I dosed on my P3ish break last week. Kept my "gains" to 1-2lbs at the most and kept the hunger at bay. I only ate about 1500cal a day, not like when I did P3 the first time. I am doing 2 weeks at the low calorie, then a week or so at the higher induction style eating. I think this time when I "interrupt" I will only dose twice a day. I will be travelling and entertaining a lot. After everyone goes home and the dust settles, I think I'll be ready for 2 more weeks of the low calorie plan before all the Christmas festivities hit. I'm happy with small and steady losses. I hope to be in the 150's shortly and then, dare I dream, shoot for the 140's! We'll see. I'm beginning to believe it's actually possible for me. I am very pleased with how it works.

Actually a bit hungrier today than I have been in a while. Not sure why, didn't do anything differently. Yesterday I wasn't hungry at all! Oh well, hope it means the scale will move tomorrow. I bought a pair of size 11 Jr's jeans today as incentive. The 13's fit great but I took them back. I'm looking for something to shrink into. . I can still wear my 10's and 12's a while longer and then hopefully stabilize and invest in some cute clothes!
