That is a whole lot of willpower girl! I suggest doing this round and see how you think you will be with doing that during Christmas. I know I couldn't!

I have discovered cooked/sauteed cabbage!

Never had it before. Had it tonight (sauteed in chicken broth) with my steak and yummo! I can't believe I waited until the end of this round to try it, but at least I'll know to make it for my next round (after Christmas)! I'm trying to drink water like a madwoman now because it was really salty (the chicken broth + silly me added more salt before tasting). Yay, cabbage!

It is a vicious cycle, isn't it? I hope and pray daily that I can get this weight off and eat healthier and teach my daughter (she'll be 3 in Feb) healthy habits so that she NEVER has to face this battle.

VISCIOUS cycle!!!!!

Misty...I'm sure that you will do fine, and by taking control of your own eating habits...you will be cooking much healthier for the whole family. Children eat what they are used to. You'll be a good role model!!!

I keep reading about everyone and their cooked cabbage. It reminds me of the filling in my Grandma's homemade perogi's....minus the butter. She would brown some hamburger with garlic, make sure that the meat was crumbled into the tiniest morsels, drain, add finely shredded cabbage, a little water, a bunch of butter, put a lid on the pan, and simmer until the cabbage cooked. When doing low carbs, I used to eat this quite often.

Yeah...I'm going to wait and see, but I really don't have much to do around the holidays anyways. All of my family lives far away. Alot will depend on if my oldest son is home from the Navy, as I don't know when he'll be back again. He already warned me...and he doesn't know about the hHcg...he thinks that I'm just counting carbs again: "You better not be cooking low carb crap if I get to come home. I want some of my Momma's lasagna and meatloaf."

Oh yes, cabbage was such a treat for me in P2!

I would dice it up very fine in the food processer, then saute it in apple cider vinegar and braggs aminos and add the extra-lean ground beef portion in there as well. So filling and tasty!

I'm trying to eat more fat, and I don't want to list what I have eaten, as it wouldn't be fair to those of you who may be hungry. BUT...did the Dr. really mean to stuff yourself when you're not even hungry?

What are all of your definitions of: "capacity?"

I feel/felt that same way. I read the Atkins book while recovering from having dd#2 (c/s). I started 2 weeks later and have lost over 100lbs. I've changed the way I eat, and my family eats. We're all way healthier and more active now too. My dd, who's now 7, loves cauliflower bake, chicken cesar salad, and takes her burgers off the bun!! More is caught than taught. You're doing a great job for you family!! (and yourself )

I wouldn't eat if you're not hungry. Unless you're very low on calories for the day. Like now, I'm gonna' go make myself a protein shake since I'm at about 400cal for the day. Not really hungry, but I'll eat a little with protein to keep my fat burning and not turn to muscle burning.

I was still hungry, but not "can't function" hungry for the first week.

It really does make a difference in that first week. Load with lots of fat! Don't fill yourself up with carbs, you won't be able to eat enough fat if you are full from the carbs.

I know you are ready to begin losing, but I'd do 3 good days of loading while dosing.

I'd also do 15 drops 2x today, since you can't get in 10 drops 3x.
Yep, I agree 1000%!! I had too many carbs my first loading (which although yummy, left me STARVING for 10 days!! !!) I did high fat, LC, b/4 this return to P2 and have had zero hunger.

[QUOTE=Mindfulness;14010444]Most people start with 10 drops 3x/day I believe. That's why I said 15 2x. (to get a total of 30) After trial and error, I found that 8 suits me just fine. Everyone is different. They say that if you are hungry to try less drops and it worked for me.
I am now doing 10X3 instead of 6x6 my first time. It's much easier and I feel fine.

Hope you're all continuing to melt away!! Great job guys!!!

Okay, not sure if this is the right place for this...

but first of all- hello all! im new to the forum and going on one week on my first round of HCG following the simeons protocol. Buuttt i have a few questions

Im only losing like .5lb a day after the first two days of VLCD where i lost like 2lbs each day, not sure if i should be expecting more?? I started at 166.9 and am down to 158.5 this morning and tomorrow will be day 7. Any thoughts if thats on track?

I've been drinking 2-3L of plain water daily and to be honest havent been eating my full amount of calories due to me simply not being hungry and almost feel like i have to FORCE the food. Should i be trying for more water maybe? Or pushing myself to eat the full 500 calories?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I'll have to try that. I made chicken picata tonight. It was yummy, but salty too from the broth and the capers. I didn't use flour, but did use olive oil and lemon, so I guess I'm rogue. LOL It's just hard to cook meat without a little bit of olive oil. I hope my wt is not up tomorrow from the salt. I've really watched what I ate all day.

Lauren - I'm too new myself to offer much advise, but .5 per day after a bigger loss the first few days can be normal for many. I was losing at that rate, but was down 2.3lbs today. I'm not exactly to plan since I used oil to cook and sometimes have combined veggies. You may want to check that you are exactly to plan and you may find like me, you will have future days at much higher losses.

What are braggs aminos and where do you get them and what else can you use them to cook? Do they help lose wt?

I found it in the specialty section of the market (the gluten-free, dairy-free, health food section). Tastes like soy sauce to me. I don't know if it helps lose weight, but it gives a good flavor to the food.

Julie...Thanks for your input!!!! (((((hugs))))) It's always nice to know that someone here is willing to share their experience to help someone else out. I am trying to eat more fat, but I just can't figure out why I'm just not hungry at all?

Lauren0728.... In the protocol, the doctor wrote that, on average, women will lose .5lbs/day, and men 1lb/day. So, your losses sound about right. He, also, wrote that by eating less calories on the diet, than the 500 cal., one may actually slow their weightloss. I've done ALOT of reading...researching & learning about this diet...and am just starting out...but this is the info that I could tell you. Maybe, someone who has more experience on here will chime in.

I had ground beef mixed with cabbage tonight it was really filling, I haven't even had my 2nd apple or melba toast tonight. I just mixed in the cabbage when I was frying the hamburger and only added mrs. dash seasoning and some sea salt.

Hmmmmm...I wonder if someone, who was more hungry than normal today (((((Stacey))))...is going to have a visitor from the whoosh fairy in her sleep tonight, as...sometimes...when I was real hungry one day, I lost more than normal the next day...almost like the body was trying one last attempt to hang on to the weight?

She should, probably, make note of her hunger...somewhere easy to reference in the future.

I am going to run out of drops before I am ready to move to P3. I ordered more tonight, but don't think they will be here before I run out. Now I have to decide whether to go hungry for a couple of days, do an interruption, or move into P3. Hmmmm. What to do, what to do. I am on day 19.

Ohhh, Chouter!!!! You only have 10 more pounds to your goal; according to your status. If you are on day 19, how long were you wanting to stay on P2? How many more days worth do you think that you have on hand?

Hi everyone- I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post.

This is my first round of HCG. I'm on VLCD23 and am down 18.8#s.

I've been struggling/stumbling my way through P2. I lost pretty steadily and then AF showed up and has not left- it has been nearly 2 wks. Before AF, I was losing over 1#/day and since it has been much less... 70% of the loss was before AF!!

I thought dropping the fruit/toast would help, but that just made me stall more. I have been using EV coconut oil for the past wk, which has been a lovely change, flavor wise and has assisted with the weight loss, I think. Also added back one toast and the fruit.

I'm nearly done with P2 (1-2 days worth of drops left). I'm hoping I can get to 20#s lost before P3. I will be done with P3 before Thanksgiving and will maintain through the holidays (try my best). I'm not sure if I want to do another round of HCG post-holiday season. I do have (@ least) another 20#s to lose. I love the effectiveness of the protocol, but I'd be lying if I said it was easy for me to stick to it. Reading these threads has been very helpful & motivating.

ETA: I've also recently discovered cabbage! My favorite version is cooked in CO with shrimp & garlic. Add in Braggs aminos, a bit of water, cilantro and red pepper flakes.... favorite P2 meal!!

Sure is. You need to take what you have lost total and divide it by the amount of vlcds you have had and that is your average. Dr. Simeon said "on average" women should lose 0.5 lbs per day...he did not say they would lose that every day. For example, I have lost 17.0 lbs in 8 vlcd days. That is 2.12 lbs per day. That said, I had two days that I lost nothing and the last two days I have lost 0.4 lbs. Do I wish the lbs were coming off at 2 lbs a day? SURE! However, that is not realistic. I have already lost in a week more than I lose in over a month on a typical diet which is 1-2 lbs a week. You just need to keep the losses in perspective.

Congratulations on your losses. I am sure you know that coconut oil is not on protocol....you would be better off weight loss wise to ditch the coconut oil (which is GREAT for P3 and P4...love the stuff!) and stick to the fruits, veggies and protein of the diet as written. That is what I would do. We all make our own decisions tho! Good luck with P3 and P4!

As for me...today is vlcd9 for me and I woke to a 0.4 lbs loss. That makes a total of 17.0 lbs lost!

Not looking forward to today. I have to get a tooth pulled...BLECH! NOT fun....but necessary!

I love reading these posts, because it has really kept me from throwing in the towel. I was so grumpy angry yesterday I almost had MCDONALDS! But I had my 1 egg, 3 egg whites for dinner instead. My loss was so good the first week, that I got spoiled, and it has been hit and miss for the last 9. It does average out to .75 pounds a day- but when you see losses of only .2 or .1, it is hard!! I lost 8.5 in the first 5 days and only 3.5 since then. Today is my VLCD17.

ANYHOO- thanks Ladies for reminding me to average my losses, not expect the same in weeks 2 and 3.

ANYHOO- thanks Ladies for reminding me to average my losses, not expect the same in weeks 2 and 3.
Another thing, that I have read, is that alot of people seem to slow way down with weight lost in their third week, and it...for some...picks back up again (for those doing longer P2's). Also, Simeon's wrote that on days when the scale is not moving, the inches are still moving.

I hope that you measured, and took before pictures. I'm excited to read about your overall successes!!! You are doing great. Hang in there, and stick with the people here. They are wonderful people.

Another loading day!!! Blech!!! It's first thing in the morning here, and I awoke to the most bloated, and nauseating, feelings that I have had in quite some time. Yesterday, I ate plenty of fatty meat, cheeses, and oil and butter. That being said, I also ate plenty of carbs along with them. Today, I am reminded how carbs make me feel...sick!!! Bernice, is a nagging problem...always showing her presence , my nose is stuffy, and I feel hung-over.

The weight loss with this diet will be amazing. BUT...I will need to remember what the larger reasons for wanting to do this diet were.

1) Inches lost from my stomach
2) A successful maintenance
3) Maybe, once at goal & in P4 for awhile, I will still be able to maintain, and not feel like I do today from eating a cracker, and a bun.

She should, probably, make note of her hunger...somewhere easy to reference in the future.
Well, if that was the case, I screwed it all up. You should have told me that yesterday!

(update from my journal)
R2,P2,VLCD #23
Weight on VLCD4#1: 175.8
Yesterday's weight: 161.8
Today's weight: 163.8
# below VLCD #1: -12 lbs
# gain/loss from yesterday: +2 lbs

Well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't eat too much extra yesterday since I was SO hungry. I haven't been that hungry since the first few days. It was really weird.

But seriously, TWO pounds? WTH?

It's not like I totally went off plan and had a carb fest... This really sucks. I wanted to be in the 150's this week! Where's the temper tantrum smiley?

P'd off and contemplating an apple day...

Yesterday's menu:

Breakfast: coffee with stevia
Snack: apple
Lunch: Hamburger and cabbage, 2 Melba's (I made enough hamb/cabbage for my daughter too, she didn't finish her's, I finished it for her)
Snacks: apple and walden f chocolate, extra grissini, 2 pieces of deli ham
Dinner: Chicken breast and sautéed cabbage, sesame grissini
Dessert: sliced strawberries with stevia

Peggy you are a rock star. Sorry about the tooth though.

I am down another 2 pounds so since I have been back on protocol since Monday I have dropped 4.8 and I am happy about that but keep kicking myself for going off protocol because I could have been at goal but instead I am working my way back down and have to extend P2.

Stacey, I betcha its the deli ham and all the sodium. There is no way you ate 7000 worth of extra calories to gain 2 pounds. Impossible. Drink lots of water and you will be fine.

I had forgotten about the coincidence of being super hungry and the whoosh fairy visiting. I will have to remember that because I was super hungry yesterday.
