Good morning ladies.

I'm on R2D3 and nearly back to what I was before I went of plan and called those days load days.

It's so good to have everyone here to chat with about this along the way and to see the successes.

Today's weight: 162

# gain/loss from yesterday: +.4 lbs

Alright, this is just spooky. On round 1 day 20, I had a gain of .4. Here in round 2 day 21, my first gain day is .4. I guess this is when my body starts to say, "Whoa, what the heck are ya doing? I really don't wanna let go of ALL this nice, comfortable fat." This is also the same day my average loss dropped to .7/day. It's so cool having round 1 stats to compare to.

It's all good. I am confident that I'll see the 150's by the end of the week.
We had a great weekend. Went to a party where we did a picture scavenger hunt where we had 1 hour and 15 min and a list of random stuff to go out and take pics of. (Things like the entire team in knee deep water, in a dog pile at Walmart, pumping gas for a stranger...) Each thing had points and whoever got the most points won the pot. It was a blast and we won!

It was also way more running/exercise than I'm used to!

It's the last day of boy scout popcorn sales and I'm really glad to be done with it! Now I can get my house in order, finally.

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast: coffee with stevia
Lunch: P2 chili, sesame grissini
Snack: apple
Dinner: Round steak, sliced tomatoes, Melba
Dessert: sliced strawberries with Walden Farm chocolate dip
Stacey - it sounds like you had a fun, fun weekend. Your journal has got me thinking I need to start a journal here too. It's getting to be too much to track in my siggy and I'm new to this.

I really have to go find a scale too. I've been eyeballing my protein and I think I've been eating too much overall, making my wt loss slower, but still pretty good at around .5 per day, if I don't factor in my back slide.

Anyone have any suggestions on scale brands? I think I will look at BB&B since I couldn't find one at Target, but would prefer a price like from Walmart. I haven't looked there yet. Are we ok to talk about those stores for scales? I hope so.

I have the same scale, but I gave a little more for it. I love it, though! I just said to my husband last night that I don't know how I ever made it without a food scale before!

Mary,
In my state, Target has food scales? Did you look by the kitchen stuff? That is where I got mine.

I walked the isles a few times at Target and even asked for help and didn't find a scale.

Where can I find TBL scale? Do I have to order it online or is it in stores?

Gosh, I'm hungry. I don't like that. I had eggbeaters and cooked strawberries and black coffee this morning and now am onto an apple and more coffee. Is more coffee allowed?

I read that you aren't supposed to split up an apple, but I'm not sure I want to eat all of it in one sitting.

Aren't two apples per day allowed, if you don't have strawberries? I have to say that I'm afraid I won't lose if I have two apples in one day.

I found the scale online and listed on a website for a local store that has regular coupons. I guess I may as well go use a coupon and have it now instead of paying shipping, but $7 less online. Does that glass plate come off for washing or do you have to wipe it?

2B
thats why I like my fruit and veggies raw they are more filling (to me anyway)
yes you can have 2 fruits in one day you had strawberries (1 large handful, 1 apple, 1 orange, or 1/2 grapefruit)

unlimited coffee, tea, or water sometimes when you think you're hungry you're really thirsty so drink first wait 15-30 min then if you're still hungry then eat.

You are allowed two fruits/day; but not at the same time.

Fruits:
Apple
Handful of Strawberries
1/2 Grapefruit
Oranges

Example Day from "Pounds and Inches" (following protocol):

Breakfast:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only 1 Tblsp. of milk allowed in 24 hrs. Saccharin or other sweetners may be used.

Lunch:

100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must carefully be removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat.
Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are NOT allowed. The chicken must be removed from the bird.

One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salads, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

One breadstick (grissino) or one melba toast.

An apple, an orange, a handful of strawberries, or one-half grapefruit

Dinner:

The same four choices as lunch. (He does say to not eat the same protein, fruit, or vegetable 2x's in the same day. Something about being sure to get a variety of foods for vitamin reasons)

This is by the book, and if I'm going to do this...I'm going to do it by the book. When the Dr. wrote this, I'm sure that there were reasons for his combinations of foods. So, This is how I will follow it. However, with that being said, he, also, says that if you are a breakfast person, or need a snack during the day, you can choose to have your fruit or/and breadstick at these times, but then, you can not have them with your meals.

Hope that this is helpful. It is right in the "Pounds and Inches" manuscript, and he does mention that people will not have the same amount of succes if you alter this at all. This manuscript is very important to read, and follow, as it is the basis of the whole diet...and long term success.

Welp...I guess that I can be done patiently watching out my front window for the mailman. He came, but the drops didn't.

Geeeeeeeze....I guess that it doesn't matter when the invoice says that they were shipped.

Expected arrival: 10/19-10/22. Really? They were, supposedly, shipped 10/14. That sure is a LONG delivery time.

That really sucks, I paid extra to have mine expediated as they were coming from the US to Canada so I wanted to make sure that I got them right away.

That is frustrating Lost! Hope they come soon. I am thinking of ordering my HCG for my next round *now* since I am starting right after Christmas and God knows how the shipping situation will be at that point.

I'm sorry! Same thing happened to me, which is why I ended up ordering another bottle (different brand). I paid for expedited shipping, too. I raised enough stink that the seller (of the first bottle I ordered) refunded my expeditied shipping charges, lol. I told them they had messed my whole diet schedule up. I bet they were like, "WHAT?!" Keeping my fingers crossed that yours come tomorrow!

I think I'm going to order drops online. I found two 4oz bottles for $27. I paid way too much for my first bottle.

Thanks for posting the info on foods. I'm going to c/p it into my journal thread I started so I can find it easily.

I have been cooking chicken breast in stewed Italian tomatoes and did use a bit of olive oil and I heat it and put atop lettuce or spinach and it is so yummy and satisfying.

Are we ok to eat tomatoes and still have two fruits in one day?

Jabbok, To rister, and Misty disa,

Thanks for your concern!!!!

I am really upset right now. They either lied on the statement about when they "shipped" it, or the USPS has screwed something up. Can't even track the damn thing....!!! People these days.... !!!!!

Yeah...To rister...I would order them now. Maybe, they MIGHT be delivered to you in time for after Christmas.

Damn it!!!!!

On a side note:
The point set thing must be true. I REALLY believe that it must be true!!!! I've been eating like a cow, and today...I, actually, lost .6lbs!!! Since I gained those two pounds on low carb (10/13/10), for no apparent reason (didn't eat anything off plan, and kept carbs at under 20g./day), I went from 119.something (10/12/10)to 221.6. It's been at 221.6 every morning since...and I've been pigging out on sweets, and fried battered things? This morning I was 221. I spent years within a pound or two of 220 before doing my first spell at low-carbing. So, this must be true...setpoints.

Make sure that you order them now...if you want them anytime in the near future!!!!

That does sound yummy, but it wouldn't be protocol, as you used olive oil. Do the stewed tomatoes have sugar added in their jar/can? If they do...they are, also, a no-no. (If you want to follow the protocol.)

If you saw the vegetables listed, tomatoes are a vegetable. You may choose a tomato, or the spinach...but not both at the same time. So, yes...you may still have your fruits, as a tomato is a vegetable.

I have found that this diet consists of much more research, reading, and learning than following a low carb way of eating. With that being said, I feel that I have done my homework, asked a few questions, and have learned ALOT. This diet, as mentioned in "Pounds and Inches," will not work if you don't follow the protocol. AND...if you don't follow the protocol, expect to not see the same results on your scale. These are things that the Dr. wrote. Since I am going to follow his diet, it is VERY important to follow his advice. So, incase there are any people lurking, and learning, on this thread, here are some links to some important things for you to, not only read, but to, also, learn...digest, and comprehend. It is very important to do this before starting.

http://hcgdietjourney.com/wp-content...nds&Inches.pdf

But WHY are these things important?

Some people do count the tomato as their fruit and have a different veggie, so if she was to do that, she could have the spinach OR the lettuce with the tomato, but she'd have to leave off 1 of her fruits.

Ohhhh...that explains my confusion!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up Misty. I would have never known that some people were doing that. I know that, without this diet, some people...including myself...consider tomato a fruit, but I was going to change my mindset on this, when I start, in order to follow protocol.

Marking my spot for the week. I weighed this morning and then again tonight when I got home to see what happened and I am down 1.4 already. I can't wait for tomorrow morning. I am glad I got back on protocol. I have 30 days before I go on vacation so if I do a 21 round I will still have 7 days of P3 before I go away. So should I call this R3 or R2 still since I had a four day interruption. Hmm, not really a biggie just wondering out loud.

I thought I had read somewhere about the tomato and skipping a fruit.

I seem to read the same bits of the P&I over and over again, but till I actually do things differently than I have been, it doesn't stick with me.

I appreciate everyone's help.

So I was cruising the web and saw a site that suggested/recommended coconut oil through each phase. That would make me nervous but I did think it was interesting. It is on the basis that fat is used as energy, not stored as fat like carbs.

I may try it one day if I have to come back to p2 and was not so hyper focused right now. lol

If you are sticking to protocol, I would not suggest coconut oil until P3. I love coconut oil for cooking with...it is a wonderful oil....just not for P2.

As for me, I am down 0.4 lbs today...16.6 lbs total for my first week!!

Any ideas for luring Bernice to come to my house. I can't believe she hasn't stopped by since I started and I sure would love to see her.

Good going for sticking to protocol, and working the program.

Amazing losses for week #1. Especially since you didn't gain a huge amount on your load days!!!!!

Well, I was coming back on line to update. Bernice just showed up!

I took magnesium last night and this AM. I think I am going to take it daily. That is way too long between visits from Bernice...that is for sure! Maybe I will have a good loss tomorrow...

I'm glad that you're happy to see Bernice.

I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. So, No Aunt Flo...or Bernice for that matter neither. Good riddance!!!! They always hung around too long, and were overly present when visiting. Even the Doctors said that they were more than just an annoyance!!!!

I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. So, No Aunt Flo...or Bernice for that matter neither. Good riddance!!!! They always hung around too long, and were overly present when visiting. Even the Doctors said that they were more than just an annoyance!!!!
Bernice is not time of the month. She is something that should show up daily when eating normally.

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling better today. R2P2VLCD2 and I'm down 4.4 lbs. I only gained 1.6 lbs loading (probably because of what I'd been eating before I started this round) and that's gone. I'm still 8.4 over R1's LDW so I hope that's gone soon. D1 went OK. I made a huge meatloaf the last night of loading and forced myself to finish it so I could fill up and not have any leftovers (SO will not eat leftovers), so that helped. Back to P2 chili and grilled chicken/steak!
