Anyhow, her Homecoming Dance was tonight and I have attached a couple of pictures of her in her dress.
DON"T sweat it and call it wiggle room! i hope she had a marvelous time! She looks great!

confession

Since many of you, probably, don't look at my "Waiting for my Drops" thread:

Today is Sunday, October 17, 2010. What better day, than today, to make a confession, and ask a question?

Okay...it started on October 13, 2010. I had been lurking here on the hcg threads for weeks already, and following induction level low carb. On the morning of the 13th, the scale jumped from 219 to 221 for NO reason. I WAS following the 20g of carbs, usually much less, per day. That was soooo defeating to me that I..................okay.................here it goes ....................: went off plan!!!!!! I haven't been eating 20g, or less of carbs/day since.

* 14th (weight: 221.6)
Mexican restaraunt for lunch (didn't watch carbs)
10 Doritos
* 15th (weight: 221.6)
Chinese Buffet for lunch (you know that I didn't watch my carbs)
* 16th (weight: 221.6)
McDonalds for lunch (BigMac, md.fries, 5 McNuggets, diet soda)
T-Bone steak
Sm. Culver's chocolate custard with hot fudge
* 17th (weight: 221.6)
Nothing yet....

Question:
I was expecting to have gained 5 pounds by now? Why would my weight be staying the same? I would have considered these to be feasting/loading days...had my drops been here. How will I load "correctly" if I've been eating like this, and maintaining my weight...to the ounce even? Better yet...how will I maintain in P3, if this is going on (eating like this, and maintaining)? Ugh!!!!!! I'm so confused!!!!Should I get back to 20 grams/day today...until my drops come? Or say screw it...eat to my content, until my drops come, and I am done loading? One would think that the drops might be here tomorrow.

Loading isn't loading unless you are dosing

take the gain in stride get right back on your plan while waiting for your drops and up your water, look over everything you are eating for extra sodium and it will level out
get your drops dose and start your 2 days of higher fat loading and then you will have a present just about every morning on the scale

Announcement

I will, probably, not be returning to my: "Waiting For My Drops" thread anymore.

Be aware that there is a newbie among us who, obviously, hasn't taken the time to read "Pounds and Inches," asks questions, gets answers, and then....goes on another low carb thread here on LCF's and "Dis's" the Hcg Program.

This being said, to each their own.

But...as Doctor Simeon's pointed out...those who don't understand the science behind the diet....won't understand the principles of how it works. So, you're better off not discussing it with people who aren't going to do their homework!!!!!

Yes. I know that loading isn't loading...unless you take the drops/dosing. What I said was: "I would have considered these to be feasting/loading days...had my drops been here."

I, after NOT cheating, gained two pounds a few days ago, and after following the low carb induction levels for a week of no change, and then, a two pound gain...I went off plan, and I don't understand why I haven't gained while being off induction levels (cheating).

Since "Pounds and Inches" says that you're better off to not be coming right to hcg from another type of diet, I was wondering if I should consider going back to induction levels while waiting for my drops, or just take the gain, and start the protocol (loading) when my drops come in.

And...yes...I hope that this hcg works. A present on the scale ALMOST every morning would be nice. Thanks for your help!!!

"Pounds and Inches" says 2 pounds below, or 2 pounds above. So, I would say yes. She shouldn't lose any more during P3. I wouldn't say that a half of a pound would make a big difference though. Actually, since I typically lose with NO starch and NO sugar....I was wondering the same thing....just haven't voiced my questions about it yet. How will I NOT lose weight on P3? I know that the more vegetables that I eat, while low-carbing, the less that I lose. Eating more protein...especially fatty protein...makes me lose the most. So, I will need to eat more vegetables on P3....I think.

Peggy, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new avatar. Your puppy is so handsome. Looks alot like our Bronson did. Boy thought he was a 125 pound lap dog. LOL

Koo, M looks like a million bucks in that dress! Love it! I bet she felt absolutely dazzling.

LandF, can't wait to hear your results when you get started. You will love it.

Stevie, yes, there is no limit on how long you can do the hhcg, but I tell ya, when my mind left the game, it was GONE and it was tough to stay on plan. Kinda self-limiting. I applaud these people that do 40+ day rounds.

CTG, I hear ya on the cheating. it's tough once the bonds of P2 are gone. Just dust yerself off. I'm so skeered of having to do this again, I won't dare touch anything with starch and sugar. I don't think i have it in me to do another round. Sad, huh...

Happy Sunday everyone! Off to go shopping to make chili.

Hi ladies.

I hope you're all having a nice weekend.

Karen - I love the homecoming photo. She looks beautiful. How long has she been doing HCG and how much has she lost? Added in edit - it looks like in your siggy she's down 20lb if I'm reading right. That's great, esp on her small frame. I bet she is feeling fantastic. My dd's homecoming was last night too. I'm bummed I skipped many of the events that parents attended. Next year Ill go since she'll be a senior.

I have a question for the HCG experts. I did 2.5wks of HCG after doing plain LC for week where I lost 5lbs. I lost 6lbs with the HCG and then went off for three days and did some drops on those days, but not as many as I was doing the 2.5wks prior. I ate junk food, primarily sweets, so plenty of sugar and fat, but because I have issues with my gallbladder, I don't eat too high fat ever and still ate low fat proteins like scallops and eggbeaters. yesterday I started my day with 1/2 a banana and then ate very clean and actually too little. Yesterday I was 219.3 and this morning I am 217.7.

My question is do you think I should call those junk eating days loading, esp. since I gained 3lbs back and now say I'm on R2?

Morning ladies.

I am holding my loss firmly in the 140's so thrilled with that. Had to go to a party last night full of food and yummies. But I stuck to it. I do plan on doing the 40 days - I am just trying to take it one day at a time and ensure I have delish food. I like steak and I found a 95% lean hamburger at Sprouts. I also throw in eggs/whites. Plus I love strawberries and radishes - so I know it is a long 40 days but I just look at it like 1-day-at-a-time

It will be worth it to have a p3 in Seattle - as we will be eating out a few times.

Have a wonderful morning all.

PS: I love M's dress. The collar is very flattering and she looks like she is comfortable and happy!

I have another question for our experts....

My muscles feel achy which I think is from lack of potassium, but I'm not sure how many supplements at what potency I should be taking daily. So far, I have a multi vitamin and have added an extra potassium supplement to it, but it's not enough and I fear the aching is because my body is eating the muscle and not the only fat. This feeling of being depleted is what could screw me up and I think led me to my off plan days, cuz I really was handling the very few cravings I was getting quite well and I like not eating much.

I haven't even recv'd my drops yet. So, I am no expert. BUT..."Pounds and Inches" says this:

"Muscular Fatigue

Towards the end-of a full course when a good deal of fat has been rapidly lost, some patients complain that lifting a weight or climbing stairs requires a greater muscular effort than before. They feel neither breathlessness nor exhaustion but simply that their muscles have to work harder. This phenomenon, which disappears soon after the end of treatment, is caused by the removal of abnormal fat deposited between, in and around the muscles. The removal of this fat makes the muscles too long, and so in order to achieve a certain skeletal movement-say bending of an arm-the muscles have to perform greater contraction than before. Within a short while the muscle adjusts itself perfectly to the new situation, but under GCG the loss of fat is so rapid that this adjustment cannot keep up with it. Patients often have to be reassured that this does not mean that they are 'getting weak'. This phenomenom does not occur in patients who regularly take vigorous exercise and continue doing so during treatment."

Yep, I saw who you're talking about....I'm sorry she feels "we're not much help" here....She would definitely understand more about the plan if she would take a little time to read P & I. You can't come in and ask basic questions to which the answers are plainly outlined in P & I and expect everybody to spoon-feed the answers to you. Most of us here have read P & I several times as well as devoured every thread in this forum to learn as much as possible.

Thank you. Yes, M i down 22.5 lbs. now, she still has a ways to go but I think she got an excellent start. Did you dd have a good time at her dance? M is a sophomore and this was her first dance she has attended.
She said they didn't dance, that was too much unappropriate grinding dancing going on. Where were the chaperones?

I think you should go ahead and consider your days off as a load and just get clean and move on from here. I hope you have an easy couple of next days getting back on plan.

Thank you. She normally doesn't care for a haltar top (think bathing suits) so I was surprised she liked this dress. I think she was very comfy in it.

Congrats on doing well with P2. You do definitely need to take it day by day especially going the 40 days. Good job on resisting at the party!

M was taking 3 doses of the Potassium a day. She had one or two days where she felt like she had a cramp and I gave her a fourth one.

I read through the thread and didn't see that but I couldn't disagree more. I feel like we have a great support group going here and I couldn't have done this without everyone's help! Maybe, the person was asking on off times and didn't get the answers quick enough.

Once again: Please be careful with Potassium.

"Too much potassium is UNSAFE and can cause feelings of burning or tingling, generalized weakness, paralysis, listlessness, dizziness, mental confusion, low blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, and death."

Thanks for finding that and posting it. I admit I still have to finish P&I. I've only lost 10lbs, so I don't know about much fat being gone betw my muscles, but I know I need to do more regular exercise.

Well, back from my camping disaster where I may or may not have given in to a smore .......or two.

I'm so mad I've been in so many more tempting situations and resisted. I'm planning out my meals this week and calories so I can do better staying on course. I don't mind if I have to stay on P3 for another week to stabilize, hopefully I am still able to reset my hypothalamus!

KOO - M looks really, really beautiful! She must be so happy!

She said they didn't dance, that was too much unappropriate grinding dancing going on. Where were the chaperones?

I think you should go ahead and consider your days off as a load and just get clean and move on from here. I hope you have an easy couple of next days getting back on plan.

My dd is had a good time and danced. She has skipped dances in the past cuz she says she doesn't like all the grinding that goes on, esp. if they bump into her. She went with four girls and they danced together, but her first/only/ex-boyfriend (of only one month) was there and they danced three dances nicely together she said.

I think I will call this R2 for me, but I don't want to do too many days on it either. I do want to be on P3 for Thanksgiving when we visit family.

Well that stinks. I have no problem answering questions, but you have to take some personal responsibility and actually *read* the plan you are choosing to follow rather than expect everyone to do the work for you.

Just Checking in.

My hubby and I have been on P2 for 30 days. Continuing on for the full 40. He has lost 26.5 lbs and I have lost 25.2. Feeling really good. Looking forward to some variety. Have to say the hardest part has been the awkwardness of social situations. Hard to go to parties and not eat or drink. Will be glad to have other proteins and fat again soon. I really feel like a new person, tho I know that I have a long way to go (70 more lbs). Love hearing of all your successes as well. JJ

Okay!!!!

I bought a package of chicken breasts...those things are almost as big as mine!!!!!

I'm going to push my sleeves up, and get cutting them into portion sizes. I'm making ribs on the grill later. So, I thought...what better time than now to do this. After I cut them up, I'm going to season them with Mrs. Dash, and grill them. Then, individually pkg. them, and pop them into the freezer. There are 5 HUGE breasts. So, I should get quite a few servings out of them.

Out of curiosity, I weighed a couple of the individually frozen tilapia filets that I bought. Even frozen, and still in their packaging, they are only 75 grams. You guys said that frozen meat weighs a little more than unfrozen. So, would you eat two, or leave it at one?

Here is a sample day of how I intend to have my P2...for it's entire duration:

102 ounces of water
Oolong, or Green tea w/stevia

Grilled Chicken Breast
1 sliced cucumber w/ 2 Tbls. ACV (With the mother) and stevia
1 plain grissini
Handful of strawberries, or an apple

Baked Tilapia w/ lemon pepper
1 md. sliced tomato w/ sea salt
1 plain grissini
1/2 of a Grapefruit w/stevia (or strawberries if I didn't have them at lunch)

Nothing after 6pm, except H2O or tea.

Does this look acceptable?

I am really getting excited to start!!!!! I think that I am ready!!!!

Sweet! Congratulations!

Once you get past the first week of P2...it really is an easy diet to follow. I was so bored by the end of my first P2 that I could not wait to eat P3 foods. I give you credit for doing a successful longer round. KUTGW!!
