For me, I try to stick to protocol, and that is my goal, but as I've already confessed, I had wine in P2, I had some cream in my coffee on occassion, I chew gum, I haven't changed any of my products, and I've still lost. I wonder sometimes if they served P2 Chili at Dr. Simeon's hospital. For me, doing it "mostly" according to protocol has worked well, and I had a fabulous P3. I hope that continues on this next round, and if I do another, I will still do my best. But I am not perfect. I guess because of my imperfect P2s, I am not willing to really play fast and lose with the program.
Yeah, I had a couple slips in my P2's too. I honestly think Dr. Simeons did his best researching what foods worked the best for all people, not one group in particular. Some tweaking may work for one person but wreak havoc for another. I think he included safe foods for everyone that would result in optimal losses. I'm sure you can tweak and lose but IMO the protocol will give you optimal results. I've tried to do all of my rounds as close to protocol as possible because I want to learn how to eat correctly and not have to do this for the rest of my life!

I was down 1.1 today. With any luck at all, I may hit a new decade Monday or Tuesday! That right there is encouragement enough to stay on protocol.
I think I will have to stay away from that thread too...!

Thanks... I'm definitely going to stay strong and stick with this protocol... I'm going to atleast do my 21-day VLCD and if I'm stuck at 249.4... then that's where I'll be after I finish my 21-days.. cause I've committeed myself for atleast 21-days.. and will continue and do more if I can.

Thanks to EVERYONE ELSE who responded to my plea... I really love the fact that no matter what... you all got my back...

I like it straightened, I also have curly hair and I borrow my daughters straighter every so often, I get more compliments on my hair when its straight then when its curly

Thin, I don't think sweet potatoes are allowed on P3 if I remember correctly. They are a starch.

Like most of you I went into the rebel thread and starting reading and though to myself I don't want to go there because I might start going off the path and really rebelling and then questioning why I didn't lose. So for now I will stick to what the good doctor prescribed. I am jealous of those that can tweak and still lose a pound a day.

CTG, I'm here. So glad you had a wonderful time! Yanno, I didn't sleep so great last night either (nervous about a meeting I had today), but I also can't remember if the scale read 131.8 or 131.2 this morning. So I'm either down 0.2 or 0.8...LOL@me

I'll catch up to you yet sistah!
That's funny. I often forget how much I weigh! I hope your meeting went well today and that you are able to sleep better tonight. Hopefully I'll get to bed earlier and weigh on time tomorrow.
I hope I don't have late repercussions from last night.

My round 3 will fall in b/w Thanksgiving and Christmas so I'll have to discipline myself for those 3 wks.! Then we're going on vacation from Christmas to New Years an I plan on enjoying myself!!!
I am REALLY excited to start baking with alternative flours! I dabbed in it while LCing this spring but was always trying to stay really calorie/carb conscious to lose. I think I will have a lot more liberty in maintenance (and will be doing JUDDDD calorie cycling to help). Any favorite recipes??

I think we already realized this, but we'll be on R3 together too, and after a 6 week P3/4 I have a feeling I am going to have a really hard time buckling back down!

Well said Gracie!! That is why when I eat cabbage and I lose weight I rejoice!! When Deb eats it on P2, I know she gains. It means that even within protocol we have to tweak and find out what works for us. But you really should do it within the guidelines of protocol. I know not everyone eats the grissini and that is OK, because not everyone can tolerate gluten. What gets me is that they leave it off "just because they see no reason for it". There is rhyme and reason for everything he put in his plan. I also have a slip up here and there (by gosh I work at Starbucks for Pete's sake and am around temptation all the time!!!!! I love frapps!!!) but when I follow P2 as close as possible to P&I is when I get results. I also want this to be the end all for me!! Yeah for hcg!!!!!!

Lee Anne, so excited we'll be on R3 together, we can do it! I'm aiming for 170 by Christmas!!!

Well, ladies, I was down 1 full lb this morning putting me at 185.8 for LDW. This is my last dosing day so today is my LDW right? Or is it tomorrow mornings weight? I forget!

So, I am hoping this falls into the "no such thing as a dumb question" category!

I have read somewhere on here that people mix cocoa into their coffee. I did this yesterday, it was awesome, and I want to do it again. However, the cocoa did not really mix in and formed a lumpy brown layer on top (my son had so much fun giving me a hard time about drinking "it", if you know what I mean). So how do you do it? Any advice on mixing it short of using a blender?

Down to 131.0 this morning. Again, since I don't know if I was 131.8 yesterday or 131.2, not sure if it was a 0.8 or 0.2 loss..LOL Whatever, I lost a pound in 2 days. Back to my turtle pace.

I think I am changing my goal to 128. I am starting to look bony in some places and I know once I get back to working out, my shape will continue to change.

My meeting yesterday went extremely well and it will end up in a change in careers. I need to travel on the 17th, yes, this month, so I have to be solidly in P3 by then. I think Thursday will be my last dosing day.

Am I sad I'm not going to try for 125? Sure, but I may get there once I put more muscle on and my body naturally starts to burn fat. I'm at a good size right now. Size 8 jeans are comfy. I will never get to a size 6 with my hip bone structure. I'm getting ready to relax and enjoy stabilizing.

CTG, I'm not leaving ya girlie, no worries! I know you will reach 125!!!

I have it every single day!!! I just keep stirring until it gets mixed in. There is some usually that settles at the bottom when I get done with my cup, but I really don't have a problem with it mixing in just using a spoon. Just keep stirring!!! Oh, and when I pour it in, I make sure to sprinkle so that it won't lump up! HTH!!!!!

I put my cocoa in my mug, add a little coffee to make a paste and keep stirring then add more coffee, stir some more and so on and it's usually pretty smooth.

Dawn ~ one thing that sticks out to me is when Lindy did an experimental round. She gave herself one cheat day a week to eat high calories/starches/fat and see what happened. Well, if you remember she could not stabilize at all!!! She ended up having to do a repeat round by the book. She hasn't been around in a while, I think she started a new business or something but I'm sure she could chime in. I just think that if the protocol could be improved that it would have by now!!! Any doctor would jump on the money-making hcg diet if they could. Anywhere you look it's pretty much the same basic 500 calorie diet with some variations on proteins and veggies.

Anyhoo, how is your P2 going?

Lee Anne, so excited we'll be on R3 together, we can do it! I'm aiming for 170 by Christmas!!!

Well, ladies, I was down 1 full lb this morning putting me at 185.8 for LDW. This is my last dosing day so today is my LDW right? Or is it tomorrow mornings weight? I forget!
Congrats! Yes, the 185.8 is your LDW.

The back of my cocoa powder can taught me to mix the powder into a few tablespoons of boiling water (or in this case super hot coffee) first. Makes for fewer lumps, easier mixing.

Awesome on the careers and goal change. You are almost there!

You girls were no help at all on my hair dilemma. I got 2 curly votes, 3 straight votes, and 4 undetermined.

I guess I need to focus on some real issues in my life instead of my hair!
