So about this wine thing .... I'm soooo excited to drink mine. However, before HCG if I drank any I would automatically be up on the scale 2 lb's the next day, no matter what. Anyone else like that pre hcg?!?! If so, has that changed?!? I sure would like to mix that up in the stabilizing, yum!
I would try the cabbage again if I were you. I think you said it wasn't the Bragg's kind, try to get that. I sautee M's cabbage in it with no problem and I also sautee onions in it and she handles that well. Congrats on the loss this morning!

Good job on M's loss today. I hope P3 treats her well!
I definitely will be trying the recipe, thanks!

Thanks, I am thinking the one at the gym had to have been wrong. I use to have a digital scale that did the body fat also but it seemed like it never kept the right weight so I went back to the old type scale.

It is draining! I really don't know how so many of you do this for multiple rounds and cycles. I haven't had a night out with the girls in 2 month and I was used to going weekly. It is hard to not have such a social life. Thank goodness I am so close to goal.

Thank you! It is great to have people on here as happy as I am about it! The book of miracles really helps sometimes so I don't get down. I love keeping in touch with some too! Wow, you must have a heart of gold to work in LTC. I did for about a year but we have a lot of chronic's at the hospital and after all of these years in healthcare my heart just breaks for them so I have a hard time with LTC.

I'm down 0.8 this morning to a solid 132.0. My BF measured 33.7%, so that made me happy. I didn't sleep well at all, so I think my loss could have been more. Darned brain started working at 3am! Oy!
Good losses! Hope you sleep better tonight!

I exercised yesterday and am going to try to exercise thru out, and get my body fat down a tad (and lean body mass up) before I restart P2. Maybe that will make P2 easier.

DD still having trouble sleeping. Poor girl, I really think she should end up working with animals for a living. She does love them more than most people!
Hope DD sleeps better soon. It is so hard to lose them! She should work with animals! Bet she'd be great at it!

Do you worry that exercise in P3 will make you need that calorie burn to maintain later?

It would be great if we were all in P2 or P3 at the same time!

I am still suffering with muscular type pains in my shoulders and in my knees, the shoulders I can tell are a little better but not the knees. I couldn't believe that I had gotten a blood clot, broccoli was my main staple veggie for Atkins, I took aspirin as my go to pain reliever, use a lot of garlic/garlic powder in cooking and drink 5-6 cups of hot tea a day. The doctors are blaming it on BC pills at the age of 46. Anyhow, I am interested in your more natural ways of avoiding clots, I am taking a baby aspirin a day now in hopes that I don't get any more.

I have tried to like wine and just can't do it. I think to be able to drink a glass a night would be healthy but can't acquire the taste for it.

M was down .5 pound today bringing her to 19.5 lbs gone since September 6. I think today will be her last dosing day regardless of whether she drops that other .5 lb tomorrow. By Saturday she can be on P3.
Well my new doc has be taking 2Tb carlsons flavored fish oil each day. I'd taken fish oil pills in the past but still had clots. Not sure if its the carlsons or if thyroid/adrenal meds would make a difference but since starting both (and supplements but not thinking they would thin blood), I've not had a clot this year *knock on wood*. I think the Carlsons is what is doing it and my labs show my blood is thinner too which is a first since I was in my teens.....I know fish oil sounds gross but its not bad other than the oil feel in the mouth but taste isn't bad and the lemon flavor works well with a vinegar for salad dressing too. BC pills can definitely cause clots especially when at our age group. I'm surprised they had you on the coumadin for so long! Yeah I'm supposed to watch my veggies but unfortunately the ones I love are on the list to promote clots.....if I get another I'll increase the fish oil (but will have to stop it if surgery, etc).....I have not been on it while on P2 which has made me a bit nervous but soon I'll be on P3 again and only one more P2 for reshaping if I can't get my bf% down by January.....I sure hope that your pain level subsides soon! Chronic pain sucks!

M has done great. Bummer that she didn't reach that even 20lb though! Yes P3 difficult for some and decent for others. I hope hers goes well!

I am right there with you on the wine. Hubby likes it and I've been able to tolerate two he tried, one was an ice wine that tasted more like a pear juice than wine to me and of course chocolate wine I liked but yeah, that I'm sure isn't as healthy!

Awesome on the body fat and .8! Hope you get caught up on your sleep.
I lost .8 too. That brings me to 131.0 I started this round weighing 3 lbs less than you, so you are still WAY ahead of me!
Awww, you are sweet. Everyone in this world doing any job makes a difference in this world though! Yes, very terrifying and I can tell you that when taking CPR they really need to tell you all of the stuff that will happen with bodily fluids, etc. Its not covered in CPR class but definitely happens and maybe a heads up wouldn't have mattered but yeah.....its been over 11 years but sometimes it still feels like yesterday for both of us and when he's sick with breathing issues we both tend to worry......I'm thankful to have him after almost losing him and it definitely changed our relationship for the better as I'm able to let the little things go after that as they don't seem nearly as important in the grand scheme of things!

You are doing great at 131! Hope you enjoy your night out tonight!

Inching my way down.....

I was down 0.8 today after not losing yesterday so I'm good with that. I am looking forward to getting to goal but right now I just have my sights set on losing 0.7 more so I will hit that 20lb mark! Today I did my measurements (haven't since right before my P3 break).....I know that body fat % isn't super accurate with the hand held thing I use but I like to see the trend down anyway......I started at 33% and today am at 27%. So while my weight isn't at a bad place/number I still have lots of flabby inches to lose......I know that will come in time with continuing to eat whole foods, non-starchy, no sugar (for my health too), no binges, etc as well as when I can eventually be well enough to add in those rocking kettle bell fat burning workouts again! Years ago before my health went down so quickly and I started eating horribly, not being able to exercise, etc. I ranged around 16% body fat and actually my goal was leaner (I'd like 13% but it may not be achievable or maintainable so I'm flexible with that number). It may take that reshaping round planned for January to get there but I'm game!

So my first load day was August 12th and I weighed 129.1 (this was after losing down from 138 with low carb a few weeks before). As of today I am down 6% body fat, 19.3lb pre-load (24.6lb post load) and 36 and 1/4 inches!

I'd say that is great and of course I am excited since I'm fitting into lots of clothes that I haven't in years with only a few more to get into! So with 46 VLCD's I average 0.42lb per day. A bit under the average of 0.5 but it is still a lot faster than I could have in a healthy way and it's fat inches which matter to me more than the number on the scale.....plus I'm learning how I will maintain these losses forever and be done with the yo-yoing for good. That alone is worth its weight in gold as it will be beneficial for me emotionally and physically!

Today I've packed hubby's lunch, mine for the next two days of working, cooked hubby some bacon (wearing gloves), measured/chopped and cooked my dinner for Thursday after work, picked up a bit around here and finished watching a webinar for an hour for CEU's for licensure......just a few more things on my list today and I am done! I will be working Thursday/Friday so if I don't get on here, no worries......I will catch up late Friday night after I'm home or on the weekend since its my weekend off!

I just can't believe how happy I am! Cloud 9 really and that hasn't happened since before FMLA in July! Hubby loved that yesterday!

So what brand of red wine do you ladies like to drink on P3? Is there one that's fairly low in sugar but doesn't taste bitter? I like sweet wine.

Yay Christi! Your progress has been great!!!

Thin--I may not be a good judge because I like dryer reds, but if you like a fuller taste maybe try a merlot. Another choice would be to go with a dry white like sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio--going to be higher in sugar than a really dry red, but not even close to a sweet wine.

No loss but still stoked to see I did not gain. I also ordered another bottle as I am going to trudge on and see what I can do for an additional 11 days. Then I am going to do P3 for a week and then start a new P2 until mid November. Then I can do P3 through my birthday and Thanksgiving.

Nice to read everyone's day to day!

I have a Tanita too. Do you think the BF% is really accurate? Sometimes I wonder.

I know this is TMI, but today I weighed before Bernice visited and then decided to weigh again after she made her appearance. No change in weight, but my BF% went down nearly 1% -- strange.....

Nice to read everyone's day to day!
Hopefully you will whoosh down tomorrow! Sounds like a good plan you have to be on P3 for your birthday and Thanksgiving! I'm already planning what I need to shop for after work the Friday before and then prep things on my days off so hubby just has to pop the turkey and a lc stuffing into the oven......then when I'm home late that night after my 12hrs then I will whip together mashed cauliflower and lc gravy......still have to decide on a side and am thinking green beans cooked with bacon (not sure if hubby will eat that?) and then of course either a lc crusted pumpkin pie or a crustless one served with stevia sweetened heavy whip cream.....

Is everyone going to be on P3 for Thanksgiving? Will everyone be adhering to sugar/starch free? If you are then I'd love to hear your menu and maybe it will give me better ideas?

Haha, Hi Lorrie! Yes in general reds will be lower in sugar than whites. And the dryer the wine the lower in sugar it is. Some good options are pinot noir, shiraz, and red zinfandel (not white, which is actually pink, the RED). Any sweet tasting wine will be quite high in sugar. Some good whites are sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio. HTH, cheers!!

ETA: Christi! It is definitely faster when there are tons more pounds to lose, but you've done amazing

I pinot noir.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my pics! It's an amazing feeling to *start* to not feel disgusted by my body. I'm getting there!

I have done many low carb Thanksgivings with success. So thankful for Linda Sue's recipes here on the site. I like to make Dotties Greenbean casserole, faux cauliflower casserole, cheesecake, smoked turkey. Green beans cooked with bacon is an excellent choice! Hopefully as the season gets closer, our menus will get fine tuned.

I will have a bit of merlot - speaking of all this wine talk. I miss it too!

Stick to Protical..Stick to Protical..Stick to Protical

Although, they 'Do' have me thinking..how harmful can a egg or some califlower be? Am I a undercover Rebel?Stick to Protical.. Stick to Protical! I think I am too much of a scardee cat to become a rebel just yet.

(No disrespect meant to those enjoying the thread and their Rebel-ness..I'm actually Jelious!)

It is always tempting to say this or that won't hurt, but for me, I stick to protocol because I want a successful P3. That's where it might get ya. But IDK why the good doctor included some things and not others. I just know that what he did pick has worked wonders for me, so I will not waiver. I'm sure other wander off and do fine.

According to the protocol there's no reason not to exercise in P3. The advice not to exercise in P3 is based on something else on the internet, not on Simeon's work (at least as far as I can see). Can't see how it does harm if I'm having fun (or as much as I can manage!). Besides with the number of rounds I'm going to have to do to reach goal, there's no golden shot for me.

I believe this is correct re: the exercise. I would think moderate exercise is OK, but the thinking is that you don't want your body to think it *needs* the exercise to maintain as you are resetting your hypothalmus.

Just got my HCG last night for my next round! Fedex delivered late!

WOE: VSG 75 lbs. down and expecting baby 6/2013! :)
Good morning ladies, I'm kind of down today because there was a .4 gain on the scale this morning. No change in menu whatsoever. Tomorrow is my last dosing day, then 2 VLCD's until my 1st P3 day on Monday. I'm at 186.8 and I was really hoping to get below 185 this round.
