Nitenurse, the directions with my drops said 15 drops 3x/day. I have tried it that way, tried 10 drops 3x and even went up to 15 drops 4-5 x because I was still hungry.
Only been on them 2 weeks so I am experimenting. It sounds like most folks are doing well on the 30 drops per day. I don't know why there is a discrepancy. One would think that all of the hhcg drops would contain the same amount of active ingredient, but I don't know that to be fact. |

Feeling like a deer in headlights
Finally I've found my home! Real people who share real experiences. I started last week and It feels good to know that there are people finding they're own way thru this journey. I don't see anyway I can survive the next 40 days or so @ 500cal so I'm going to go against the grain and "Tweak It"...to be continued
SN - Is anyone excerising while on Phase 2? My body is craving for a good workout but I'm afraid I might screw up my results.any thoughts? Thanks in advance |

Yesterday I did 55 sweaty minutes on the elliptical as well as a 30-minute powerwalk. Don't be shy to give your body what it needs. I got a whoosh of genuine hunger late last night, that I fed with some leftover potroast. (If it were "head hunger", I'd have gone for carbs straight away!)

quote from pg 25
Ok- so heres a quote I like from pg 25
DEb294ever; "I also want to remind anyone who is starting their own experiment that you MUST BE PATIENT!! You will have ups and downs the first week or two that may scare you or may make you explode in happiness, but dont give up or think of it as a failure before you have gone through some time.. one or two days is not an experiment." I like this: as some things take time, and sometimes you have to play around a bit to find a flow that suits you and your body, and sometimes the scale does not neccessarily adequately reflect whether you are losing or gaining fat. Sometimes it is good to just watch the body for changes, or see if your clothes are fitting differently, than to be overly attached to a scale number. Nola |

Wow.. blast from the past!! this really does hold true still.. and experiment is not a day or two... it is over a period of time! I am happy if this helps anyone now ..
I have maintained my loss that I had during that time and am a retired dieter but if I had not found HHCG I would not be in this place I am in now. ABLE to be at peace with my weight and taking my time to goal.. Good luck everyone!!.. ![]() ![]() |

Hi Deb
Yep, I have found these old threads really helpful and interesting. And it is good to have a long term update - thanks! The thing I am wondering is, do you think there is value taking Hhcg/hcg apart from the low-calorie regime? Some stuff I have read says that getting the benefits from the hhcg (or hcg) depends on putting your body in a very large calorie deficit to get it to trigger the hypothalumus to release the abnormal fat and trigger the appetite suppression. From what I have read of your stuff, you seemed to have found that the hhcg gave you appetite suppression, even at higher calorie intakes. I have been taking the hhcg with the higher calorie intake , and am still trying to work out what it is doing for me- if anything at all.. I have just run out anyway, so will give it a break to see if I notice a difference. I am just wanting to hear an overall recap of someone elses opinion/experience.. Thanks, Nola Last edited by nola baxter; 06-23-2011 at 01:33 PM.. |

Hi Nola! I think HHCG can give you the same benefits with higher cals taken in, yes. I don't know how high each person can go though, so that is why I called it an experiment. It seemed to work best for ME, when I varied my cals each day. If I tried to stay too low for too long, I just felt like I was at a standstill. The same thing happened if I had my level too high for too long. So tricking the body really seemed to work best for ME. I think it is a good idea to take a break from it for a bit, and when you think you are ready go back to it. Just try different levels and see what works. I know I can eat at least 2000 then go back to 700 up to 1500 back to 700 etc. and LOSE. When I followed a high day by another high day, I would gain. So you see? It really is trial and error. All the best to you!!! I actually started taking the drops again just for appetite control. I am not on any diet, but I find that they really help keep me from eating past satisfaction... ![]()

Hi Deb
That was a quick answer - thanks! I also tend to do an up day/down day kind of cycle, whether on hhcg or not; I think it works fantastically for tricking the body and losing weight without compromising the metabolism. I tried doing low calories with the hhcg and couldnt sustain it (got too hungry and weak)- so now I have just been doing alternate high/low calories and taking the hhcg at the same time. My metabolic rate is very high so I can eat far more than the average person and lose/not gain.. My bodyfat is already low, but I was hoping for some reshaping with the hhcg (losing specific butt fat), and some appetite supression. I cant see any reshaping as yet, and am not sure if there has been any appetite suppression- it is not apparent at this point. So it is all an experiment for me. I am far departed from low calories and want to see if hhcg has benefits that can be got on a higher calorie diet. It is good to compare notes with other people who depart far from protocol- the more the better- so that we can find out how the hhcg can work and benefit us even without Simeons plan. Nola |

Let me share an experiment that turned out to be what NOT to do.....
I have started-stopped-started HCG more times than I care to count. The original protocal worked in the weight-loss dept, but I was never NOT hungry. I messed around with this and that tweak and finally came upon a formula that was working. I workout fairly heavily 5 days a week and the combo of food that seems to let me lose without feeling week and willing to gnaw my arm off is 800 calories, 95-100 grams of protein and 30-40 carbs (total carbs not net, mostly from veggies and berries). I usually eat: 12:00-1:00 1 cup cottage cheese with 1/2 scoop PP and a few strawberries or blueberries 3:00 Fage with a few more berries 6:00-7:00 Chicken or lean beef and veggies Possible snack: turkey jerky (1 oz has 15 gms of protein) or boiled egg. If I just want to munch something I eat SF pickles or a sliced cucumber with salt. Here's the lesson part. Yesterday I skipped the cottage cheese and had green beans with a little bit of leftover meat sauce (97% beef and tomato sauce) and a nectarine instead of Fage. My HCG was the same. My calorie and carb totals came in the same, but my protein was down about 40 grams. I. was. hungry. I caved and ate things I won't speak of. I am up .6 today so it didn't turn out so bad I guess, but I would have been down otherwise. If you can't be a good example, at least serve as a dire warning.

I was wondering about that today actually, if I could eat from the vegetarian side mixed with normal protocol. I'm not totally off meat, I can stand it here and there but twice a day, hmmmm? Not sure I want that. Cottage cheese & PP would be great. There's only so much chicken I can eat and I only eat one type of fish. Not many options on this front. |

mind if I join in?
I'm almost 3 months post-op with the sleeve and have lost 20lbs since the surgery which isn't a lot. I have problems staying out of starvation mode b/c my appetite is so low. I did well on hcg and it's reasonable with my current intake allowances, Since I'm 3 months out I can safely do a protocol without worrying about healing. I think that a higher protein version of the protocol would be a great fit with me, but I haven't got much of a springboard to work with. So I'll be reading what you ladies are doing for inspiration, and post my plan and stats here
