Medications

I have a question, has anyone out there been totally successful with the protocol and continue to take their prescribed medications, I ask because I take synthyroid which I know I can't stop, Norco for fibromyalgia and my BP med that I know I have to take, its the norcos for pain that worry me.

I currently take Byetta and Metformin. I haven't decided if I'm going to continue yet. It depends on how my blood sugar reacts to this diet.

How have your blood sugars been? I guess taking my meds hasn't affected my losses because I'm still losing and still taking my meds so thats a good thing..

They've been great since I started low-carbing last year. Before that, I was dangerously close to being diabetic. My endocrinologist threatened to put me on insulin if I didn't get them under control with low-carbing. He was almost certain I wouldn't be able to, but he agreed to give me 3 months, and I proved him wrong.

The Byetta and Metformin help too, I'm sure. But I had my sugar under control before I started taking those. He only prescribed them because he knew I was trying to lose weight, and he's seen a lot of people with high sugar lose weight with those drugs.

My DR did put me on metformin after a fasting bs turned out to be a little over normal and it was also his idea that it would help me lose weight, well I personally think it made me hungrier so I stopped taking it, but I've heard dr's are using it now though I've not seen anyone really lose any weight from it Glad to hear your sugars are under control

Well, it doesn't help me lose if I'm not taking it WITH Byetta. Likewise, I don't lose with Byetta if I'm not taking it with Metformin. And I don't lose on the combination if I'm not low-carbing also.
