Wow!! It hit me while updating my siggy: today starts week 3 of my R1P2!! Last time the round seemed to draaaaaaaag on, probably because I was angsting over every little drop, every ounce in and out, the scale, my food selections... This time, everything's flown by, I'm not stressing on my food selections, the cravings aren't as bad as I feared at the end of R1P3, and I'm fine with whatever the scale gives me. Of course this time I have a weight goal, not a date goal, so I'm sure the closer I get to that the itchier I'll be to end.

I made it through my shopping withthe girls with flying colors. I ate my food I brought and only ate at the Cheesecake Factory~~ They have a Weight Management Chick breast & Asparagus! Of couse TOM showed up on the day after my last dosing day and screwed up my LDW!!! But by Sunday and about 3 minutes worth of peeing I made it to goal!!! 186 baby!!!! I haven't seen that since 2008!!! I am very pleased and am now focusing on maintaining.

Today is the first day of P3, I can't believe I made it without ANY cheats, not a lick!!! I did have to smell a few items, but no harm there right???

Have a great week everyone!!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking a while, and finally joined last week.

In 12 days I am down 14.5 pounds

With pcos and hypothyroidism, the most I ever lost in a WEEK was 1 pound!

I'm still learning my way around here, but have found tons of advice so far.

Hey Congrats to everyone with loss of Pounds and Inches!! This really does work! I am on my second day of P3. I had a tough day yesterday due to grandson's baseball games. Had most of my calories at the end of the day and was up .4 with my LDW at 158.8. My scale showed 157.8 yesterday and 158.2 this morning so eating late is not a good thing for me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow, Congrats everyone, y'all are doing great!!!

I'm down another 2.8 lbs. this morning, which still puts me exactly 3 lbs. above LDW. I will never do another higher carb loading, I feel like I'm wasting my whole first week of P2 just trying to get back to LDW!

I'm with you hon! Took till vlcd6 till I lost my 6.4 pounds! Plus I was up a pound after vlcd1...those carbs can take awhile to process I suppose! Definitely going to do mostly fat loading next round!:blush: Hope your loading weight is off ASAP!

Yeah, I'm at that point myself. I gained 7 lbs this time loading and spent almost all first week to get to my LDW. To date I've lost just under 6 net pounds, which won't cut the mustard.

I've found I can do a perfectly P3 protocol day LOADED with fat, and do my dosing then. Both times it was my goal but I was tempted too much by things like pizza, Coldstones and whatever else I could reach. Load days need not be cheat days - I'd rather my first big losses be from new territory, not a rehash of previous scale weights.

Too late this round though.

You know it will be gone by morning. Hang in there!

~~~~
Back from our beach weekend. It was tough but M made it through it. We did a no weigh weekend so she weighed in here this morning. She is down a pound from Friday's weight. I was really hoping for a 2 lb. loss but considering what that weight change would have been had she been eating normal a pound down is something to cheer about. We ate out three times. The first was at Carrabba's. The chef came to the table and asked what she could have. We asked if he he could just make her up some shrimp with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. He said he could so she had shrimp and dry lettuce. Unfortunately, I forgot to pack up some of the honey mustard that she has been using as a dressing. The second meal out was at Longhorn's, she had a steak and salad and the third meal was at Red Lobster, she had King Crab Legs and a salad. The biscuits were a tempt for her there but she did awesome by talking to keep her mind off of them. On our way home last night, a friend of hers asked her to the homecoming dance and she accepted. This gives her a whole new thing to keep her motivated and on plan.
I came home a an email from my sister-in-law that my mother-in-law had scanned out of the newspaper saying Hcg diet is a dangerous fad. I had asked everyone and their momma's if they heard of the diet before letting M start it and now they find negative stuff on it. The article talks more about the shots than the hhcg, Oh well, M is doing well with it, all of you are doing well with it. Going to have to let that article roll off my back and move forward.
marking my spot. Congrats to all of you. And very interesting about the load and how long it took to get rid of it. So whats the moral of the story? lol
It seems after reading, staring during, before or after TOM is really a personal choice and no one is worse for wear. Any thoughts on that?
I gave up Diet soda yesterday. Baby steps. lol
eeek.... 7 lbs is a lot to "recover." I just gained 4 lbs loading. I did do a lot of carbs along w/ the fat. I just could not eat as much quantity as I imagined. I felt so full and nauseous pretty quickly. I know it is a lot of water and glycogen, plus an overdue visit from Bernice, so I am not too worried.
On the plus side, I am still not at all hungry, which is a good way to start VLCD#1.
Ouch, I am sure that stung. I told my Dh that I am not telling anyone.lol..and if I lose and they ask, I won't even say how unless I can keep it off for a long time. I used to hear a lot of flack from Atkins years ago - I bet we all have - that it is just easier to keep it under the radar. Sorry you had to deal with the email.
Wow, so impressed at Carrabas and at how well your daughter did. 3 meals out and a 1 pound loss over the weekend was *extremely* impressive!
All I can say is that this "fad" is fabulous, and I'm so glad I found it. There are diet haters from every single diet around... It's all a fad unless it requires 6-11 grains a day and low fat.
Welcome to the Protocol Stevie! I look forward to watching your progress. If you have the time to wait for TOM to pass before starting I'd recommend, just for the fact that it does, in my opinion, slow you down a bit and wouldn't you want the absolute best results you can get. M got her cycle after she start the hcg but looking at the calendar, we were working around dates and it would have been impossible to wait the extra week. If she decides to do a second round I hope to wait til her cycle to start up.
I don't know if it is the magnesium and potassium but M is having no bathroom issues at all, you might want to start them if you are having issues.
Yep, we aren't telling anyone about it unless they specifically ask how we are losing so much weight. I could care less if it's a "fad", it's a "fad" that works!
Thanks Koo and all who answered about the mense and HCG. I am going to take the drops.
So saw this..and this makes a lot of sense also....so knowing my body, I should wait for 4 days after I start as it usually ends or is really tapered off. The bottle shipped! Yeah. And TOM is tomorrow. lol - can you tell I am excited to start?
During menstruation the HCG is already being made by the body. If you introduce additional HCG then your body will become immune to the benefits of HCG, such as the no appetite, and the continuing weight loss. Instead of taking it during the whole period, take it only during the spotty, or very light flow days and stop the HCG only during the heavy flow days. Be prepared to experience hunger the first day after the period, but on that day use Wu Long tea or dieters green tea to help curb your appetite until the next day when your appetite will decrease again.
Ok, I must get off the net. Bye.
This time, everything's flown by, I'm not stressing on my food selections, the cravings aren't as bad as I feared at the end of R1P3, and I'm fine with whatever the scale gives me. Of course this time I have a weight goal, not a date goal, so I'm sure the closer I get to that the itchier I'll be to end.
It seems to me you just got started again! Time is flying by. I'm about to start week 3 of P3, and I am longing to get back into P2 with regulated meals and losses. I miss losing! Very proud of your progress, Sassy, you stuck it out and it paid off! Good for you!
Have a great week everyone!!
Congrats! P3 will be a breeze for you with your dedication. I totally get the sniffs of food. We had a birthday cake in work, and everyone tried to get me to eat some. I said no way, but I'd have a little sniff. It didn't smell as good as it looked. So it worked for me!
I'm still learning my way around here, but have found tons of advice so far.
Nice to have you here! Looks like you're doing great!
I'm down another 2.8 lbs. this morning, which still puts me exactly 3 lbs. above LDW. I will never do another higher carb loading, I feel like I'm wasting my whole first week of P2 just trying to get back to LDW!
I'm sorry you're off to a tough start! I will definitely learn from your experience when it's time to load again!
I was really hoping for a 2 lb. loss but considering what that weight change would have been had she been eating normal a pound down is something to cheer about. We ate out three times. The first was at Carrabba's. The chef came to the table and asked what she could have. We asked if he he could just make her up some shrimp with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. He said he could so she had shrimp and dry lettuce. Unfortunately, I forgot to pack up some of the honey mustard that she has been using as a dressing. The second meal out was at Longhorn's, she had a steak and salad and the third meal was at Red Lobster, she had King Crab Legs and a salad. The biscuits were a tempt for her there but she did awesome by talking to keep her mind off of them. On our way home last night, a friend of hers asked her to the homecoming dance and she accepted. This gives her a whole new thing to keep her motivated and on plan.
I came home a an email from my sister-in-law that my mother-in-law had scanned out of the newspaper saying Hcg diet is a dangerous fad. I had asked everyone and their momma's if they heard of the diet before letting M start it and now they find negative stuff on it. The article talks more about the shots than the hhcg, Oh well, M is doing well with it, all of you are doing well with it. Going to have to let that article roll off my back and move forward.
M is so impressive!!! That had to be a tough weekend and it looks like she did amazing! You must be so proud of her!!
I dropped .6 today, so I'm averaging about half a pound a day or so right now, but after 3 full weeks of VLCD, I'm just glad to still be losing! I know TOM is due this weekend, so that may slow things down some, but I hope not.
I feel like I'm hungrier the last few days. Not like I just want to eat, but my stomach is actually growling, which seems weird. I can ignore it, it's not a problem, it just seems weird. Do you think it's because I'm down to the end of my bottle of drops? My new bottle will be here tomorrow, but I just wondered if maybe they aren't as potent by the time you get to the end of the bottle?
