Should I start my HHCG tomorrow
Hi, my name is Lisa and I have been lurking here and reading. Very interesting and I am impressed with the knowledge and positive atmosphere and everyone's success. I have been following Atkins 72 for a week and have lost. I was a DANDR follower for years and just can't seem to get into the groove. Rungs, adding carbs, finding my CCL............. too much for me it would seem. While I had my successes I saw my share of failure. I feel like a very low carb plan suits me better and have totally eradicated my hunger. My high weight was 320+ which i lost 100 pounds of 10 years ago. I crept back up over the years and cannot seem to break the 240 mark. I lose 20 , I gain 20, lose, gain, lose, gain. I got my HHCG today and want to start tomorrow.
This is my question. I have no problem fat loading and can surely eat more coconut oil/cream cheese,or whatever in the next two days along with the plan i am following but do i really need to "pig out". Is loading only required to get the HCG in my system enough to not be hungry when i start the VLC days? I am just not hungry enough, I must be in deep ketosis, and I have no interest in eating much at all. My energy levels are great. and I feel good over all. Do I jump from this state of Ketosis into P2, or should I eat enough carbs to break my Ketosis and then put myself back into ketosis the first few days of P2? I seriously do not want to eat carbs in excess, its like crack to my body. Thanks and I would appreciate anyones ideas. |

When I loaded I ate foods I knew I would miss and enjoyed them. I didn't make myself eat more than my body wanted. That's just the way I did it. If you think you're going to be starving those first few days, you might want to really, really load but if you think you can deal with it, I wouldn't overload. Jmho. I'm sure we all have an opinion on this but by the time I started I felt like I'd already been loading for too long as it was
Welcome to the forums here! You're gonna love it |

Thanks WalkingWoman for your reply. I don't think I am going to be hungry. I am having to force myself to eat as it is. I am kinda concerned about the effect the fruit is going to have on me because I know what kind of insulin response I get now from apples. I am going to try to gauge that and then I will seek more answers from those of you here who are experts. Fruit makes me crave, one would think that it would satisfy a sweet tooth especially if you are not eating sweets. Fruit does the opposite for me, it awakens the sugar beast and makes me want even more sweeter foods. I was never a chip or bread person, my monkey was cakes and pies and cookies and candy. Fruit is the gateway drug lol. That concerns me. I don't think I will be hungry from the low calorie part of the plan at all unless the fat in my diet now is what is stopping me from being hungry apart from ketosis. Today I ate 2 turkey italian sausages @ 11 am for breakfast, and two grilled hamburgers plain, at 6 pm, and a Tbsp of coconut oil. I took a salad and some homemade low carb chicken soup to work for lunch and never felt hungry enough to eat it. I am so looking forward to this adventure. Thanks for the welcome.

I would suggest starting off using the protocol exactly as written and see what your reaction is. I couldn't eat the grissini. Well, I could but it was too much temptation for me to overeat them so I eliminated them. I know there are people here who do not eat the fruit for various reasons. I'm hoping one will jump in here and give you their stories. I believe they up their protein or veggies but I am not positive so if I'm wrong, please forgive me
Just trying to help. The board tends to get quiet this time of night as so many of our posters are in the east, so hang in there. I'm sure you'll get some responses soon. Oh, and maybe copy and paste this onto the large weekly thread for more responses as well. Glad to have you here and I'm looking forward to reading all about your success ![]() |

I would definitely start with the fruit and see how you do. I believe the strawberries are the lowest sugar one? Or maybe the grapefruit? Those are the only two I tried. I'm prediabetic and hypoglycemic so I never even approached those apples. ![]() You are definitely supposed to eat tons during loading, especially if you have been dieting a lot the past few months. The water weight you gain from it will be gone in about 1-3 days on the low calorie part of the diet.

Thanks WW, and Thanks Paula.........I did start today and tonight and tomorrow I will try to load. I wish I was hungry. I will try to stick with the grapefruit and strawberries to start. I am psyched and have collected some recipes to try. I definitely will be weighing and counting calories, plan on making a shopping list and getting some meals prepared ahead of time. I see that there are varying versions of the diet, some people mix veggies and others eat other sources of protein. I would like to try the basics first with no deviation this round. Looking forward to reporting results!!!

I might be a little late with this, but you can definitely load on just fatty LC foods. No need to eat carbs, most people just do that because they'll miss it in P2. But if your more comfortable just load up on fatty meats, cheese etc. I have no problem w/ cravings w/ fruit but some people omit from their menu for that reason. If you do you can have more vegies, maybe a bit more protein. Best to you!!! |

Thanks Koo, j4, and WW............day 2 loading is going well. I feel great. I am eating fatty low carb. I am really not hungry at all. Shopping tonight and going to make some of that chili, some grilled chicken for the week and pick up grissini ( hope i can find it) and melba toast. Good luck to everyone and thanks again. I am so excited about this. This board is awesome.

Experts, about the grissini, can any flavor be used? They had about 3 or 4 different flavors when I bought my first box. I bought Pizza flavor by mistake and then swap it for original. Could the pizza flavor have been used? |
