3.5 oz of protein (chicken, meat and the like) on P2

I just rec'd my drops yesterday. I didn't expect this site to send them out sooooooo flippin' fast! I thought I would order them a nudge early JIC but man they were quick. Anyway, I haven't started and won't start until September (my DD's birthday weekend will be Labor Day weekend which I will use to load).

Anyway, I haven't bought my food scale yet and I am having a hard time visualizing what 100 grams of protein look like. 3.5 oz = 100 grams correct?

Anyone care to share their opinion?

I do ground chicken and mix it with a whole package of shredded angel hair cabbage. VOLUME without calories. :)

I try and slice my proteins really thin - again - more volume!!

Glad you will be joining us!

Yup load on the veggies....... I think a normal chicken breast is aprox 7oz, so half of that.

3 ounces (looks like a deck of cards) or 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 1/2

I am pretty determined and will not let my dream scare me!

I love all the ideas you all have/use!

My favorite new thing is Walking Woman's "Sliders".

Make little hamburger patties and use sliced cucumbers as buns. I sprinkle a little salt on them! YUMMMM!

I will be taking this idea after P2!

I made another recipe I really enjoyed today. I chopped up some apple (just a little bit) and marinated in the Bragg's AA and some lemon. Drained the AA sauce. Used my food processor and ground chicken breast (for those that do use turkey breast, you could use that) added some water to my pan, let it steam and added first the chicken then the apples (the crispiness gave a waterchestnut feel to the dish), sauteed until done. Then made a platter of green leaf lettuce and chopped fresh cilantro and made my own wraps. Topped each wrap with just a touch of chili garlic sauce and yowsa. Talk about filling! Crazy :stars: I had those with the rest of the sliced apple frozen, enjoyed my lunch with some newly acquired fancy chopsticks and dang. It took me about 45 minutes to finishs my meal  I LOVE this! Definitely a repeat and this would be perfect for those of you that have families to serve as a fun dish for everyone to make their own and so forth. Seriously, the chopped apples really added to the bulkiness of the protein and it really made the dish fun and enjoyable.

hey pati!

it isn't much. for chicken i buy chicken breast tenderloins and its about 1.5 of them LOL. for tilapia i just eat the whole 4 oz (which is one filet). so basically, not a lot. but ya know, its enough, esp by day 3 or so.

For the ground beef, I'm able to make one thin hamburger patty with 3.5oz.
For chicken, it's about half of a chicken breast. Same thing for a normal piece of lean steak... about half. I did shrimp tonight and I think I got about 6-8 shrimps (don't quote me on that because I can't remember and I cut them in half).

I make a lot of mini meatball dishes with veggies or I make soups because they fill me up. Hamburger in lettuce leaves with mustard. Chicken chili (more like soup but chili flavored). I made my version of faux chicken parm. and it was really good. Cabbage goes a long way. I try to post all of my recipes with pictures on my blog, when I remember, if you want to check it out it's in my siggy.

I want to attempt to make my own version of PF Chang's lettuce wraps. I'm not sure how they will come out but I'm going to try

I'm also going to try the chicken parm. again but with a single piece of chicken breast instead of the chunks I did last time.

My food is limited because I do not like a lot of the choices on this Protocol. My choices are beef, steak, chicken and shrimp (for the meat), eggs and cottage cheese (as alternate proteins), lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, radishes, cabbage, onions (for the veggies) and oranges, apples and strawberries (for the fruit). I will only eat the cottage cheese whipped and sweetened for a dessert.

I'm way oversharing.. sorry

The good thing is that I am currently on Atkins and my hunger is very minimal. I can literally go alllll day without eating and then have a regular dinner....

I think the hardest part for me will be giving up the creamer in my coffee

Thanks you guys for all the ideas!!!!!
