I don't know. I do know that hunger is worse the first two days for most people.

I also had more hunger my first round, and lots of candida issues the first week. I have since read that the candida issues are often associated with increased hunger. It's been better this round...I'm taking biotin this round for hair loss and think that's cleared up my skin candida at least!

The hunger suppression effect is similar to atkins. Though it's not lowcarb, you're eating little enough that your glucose and insulin will not be spiking.

Please also don't believe the internet claims of 1-2 pounds a day. While that is true for some, Simeons says women average 1/2 pound per day and men 1 pound per day. That's closer to the truth.

It's still far faster - even with the 3 week P3 round added in - than I could lose otherwise.

I never had any hunger during my round, not everyone experiences hunger and if they do alot only have it for the 1st few days, there is a few unlucky ones who have it the whole round am just glad that wasnt me. It would be pretty hard to stick.

Hot tea helped me. I also distracted myself with chores, hobbies or a bath. Somedays went to bed early and read.

1 whole lemon - the juice, zest & pulp
ice - about 6 cubes
some flavored club soda - I usually use orange or lemon lime
stevia
This sound interesting - I'm not much of a "chef" so when you say whole lemon (juice, zest, pulp) what does that mean? You mean rind and all?

I'm reading this thread because I'm in Day 2 of the VLC(P2) and absolutely STARVING. I'm so hoping it goes away because I had a 5.4 lb. loss this morning (net 3.2 given I gained 2.2 in the load phase). I was thrilled - had to weigh myself twice to see if I was still asleep!

Anyway, yesterday's hunger level was tolerable but today I'm going mad with hunger. It's 12:30 and I'm about to eat my lunch but have had only tea and water to this point.

I'm hanging in there and have no intention of quitting but am looking for all the anti-hunger tips I can get!

Tip # 9

Drink the Stevia Lemonade, Dandelion tea, Milk Thistle tea, Yerba Mate teas or the Oolong teas to help hydrate and cut hunger. Many times, we are so dehydrated and out of touch with our hunger signals, that thirst signals are misinterpreted as hunger signals. Drinking lots of liquids, you make your brain think you are fuller or help your body function better.

Also flavored drinks are satisfying mentally a little more than plain water is. Go into the recipe section and make some of the yummy drinks to help take the edge off of your hunger until the appetite suppression portion of the protocol kicks in.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!!

You may periodically struggle with hunger, however most people do not. Some people experience hunger in the beginning that is most likely a result of not properly loading. Most who load properly never struggle with hunger.

If you are hungry then increase your water or tea. Your body will confuse dehydration for hunger so drinking liquids usually solves the issue. Adding caffeine (i.e. coffee and caffeinated teas) will cause a dehydration effect, so always follow up with water. Don’t forget to drink at least 2 liters daily and more if you have caffeinated beverages. You need to drink 8oz of water for every caffeinated drink in addition to your normal 8 glasses a day.
If you struggle to get your water in, try doing flavored Stevia drops in water. Many comment on how good it is and how much easier it is to get water down. Try different flavors such as Lemon, Peppermint, Vanilla Cream, Orange and many more flavors are available. You can find these at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and even grocery stores. Drink in hot or cold water. So, if you are feeling a little hungry try these tips. It is key to drink a lot of water and tea and it will help you will feel full and satisfied in no time!
