Questions after reading Pounds n Inches

Well..LaLa and I just spent the last 2 hours reading Pounds and Inches. It was helpfull and answered some of our questions.

Although, we wrote some questions down as we went along to ask you knowledgeable ladies...

1) Are green apples allowed?

2) We use Mac liquid make-up everyday..should we by oil-free liquid..?

3) It didnt say anything about mint..but we have heard from reading this site that mint is not on Protocal. We both smoke menthol cigarettes,,is that not allowed?

Our drops should be here 2morrow. We have made a grocery list and are ready to rock n roll.

We will post our stats tomorrow.

We will be refreshing and refreshing and refreshing our page to see what the answers are.

We look forward to getting to know all of you better and sharing our journey with you. We have read so many of your stoies we feel like we know you already.

Until someone knowledgable answers you .......

I do know why he didnt talk about mint. He was writing about injectable HCG. The mint thing is because we are using Homepathic- somehow mint messes with any homeopathic stuff. I think you should not use menthol ciggies but....what do I know!

I know people use green apples- I think ANY kind of apple is OK.

Simeon said no foundation makeup but he didnt know us Vegas women!!! I see other women switched to oil-free, thats what I will do but mostly I will use mineral- I just HAVE to use foundation on my nose to fill my huge pores.

You guys will be starting before me! Whaaaaa

I switched all my makeup to oil free.

I eat green apples every day - they are the only kind I like!

Mint isn't allowed because of the homeopathic like sunnygreen said. I don't know about the cigarettes, but I hope you quit anyway.

No menthol in the cigs. Sorry!

Oil free makeup only. Mineral makeup is great but avoid Pur Minerals as they contain shea butter! Read the ingredients carefully!

Read the p2 tips thread on this board.

Welcome aboard!

I originally bought the Pur Minerals and then realized they have shea butter. But ULTA had no problem with me returning it even though I had already used it. I got a couple samples of the Bare Minerals to see which shade would work the best for me, and I LOVE it. I even got compliments yesterday, my first day wearing it. I had also been using Mac, but didn't really like it anyway. Always seemed globby on my face.

One more thing about the Bare Minerals, it covers those little spots really REALLY well. The Pur Minerals did too, but it's not Protocol, so that doesn't really matter. It covers way better than the Mac, but looks like you're wearing less makeup.

Wow, I'm surprised about the Pur Minerals. I've got bare minerals and about 4 different other brands from little cheap samples off the internet. I just got 4 new samples and they are all too light! I always go back to the Bare Minerals- luckily the Bismuth (or however you spell it) doesn't make me itchy like it does a lot of people.

Lorrie & LaLa did your drops come? Mine came today! WhooHoo!!

You saw in the other thread I had Fatburger and a shake. Tonight is Outpost complete with Bloomin onion. I'm going to buy some guacamole & chips and ice cream. Might try to get a Capastrami ( Capriottis pastrami sandwich) tomorrow. Have to really think about what I will miss, or haven't had for a long time.

I better get to work on some menus and grocery lists! Some B12 too.

Everyone has pretty much answered your questions.

I have not given up my make-up and I have not changed my facial moisturizer, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/deodorant/make-up. Some of them are oil free but not all of them. I realize it's going to make my losses slower but until I can afford to switch up to the better make-up etc., I will just stick to what I have in the house. My face skin has something wrong with it - not sure what - but it is red most of the time and gets little bumps and SUPER dry (with tons of flakes) if I do not use something on it. I've been using this Aveeno stuff but it has some kind of cooling agent in it that is probably working against the hHCG so I'm going to buy a different one this week but my face is such a dilemma for me because it's so sensative to everything and it sucks.

Anyhow, I'll be looking forward to seeing your success and I also hope you decide to quit smoking, you're getting your bodies healthy - you should get them COMPLETELY healthy I'm a big anti-smoking advocate, sorry, lost my mom when I was 17 to cancer caused from smoking and I wish she had quit before it was too late. /end of lecture

Im not going to stop using my regular shampoo, conditioner & body wash but I am going to not use lotion and buy oil free foundation because that sits on your skin for most of the day.
ChristiansMom - do you maybe have Rosacea? I have it but didn't realize what it was the first 5 or more years. Google it.

I was so worried I would run out of food and have nothing left that I didnt bring my second meal to work. Then I was so extra sleepy I went straight to bed when I got home! Tonight I brought it ALL.

Wow! Look at your loss!!

Cheers to bringing it ALL..not that there is very much.. I can eat like a man so I'm hating this so far. I have had some stiff talks with myself and am doing my best at staying stong on Protical. Reading the board helps ALOT.

My first day release was way cool to my mindset..but as far as my 193.9..I have seen this number a Million times threwout my diet history. I seem to like to bounce from 192 - 198..over and OVER and OVER again. I will jump for joy when I see a 180ANYTHING.

Have you taken your 'before' photo yet? LaLa and I took photos of each other tonight..I dragged out a size 10 that I couldnt zip without BURSTING over the top along with a top I used to waer that now looks like a half top. It was pitiful.

Well the portion control is another issue with me. Its easier for me to NOT eat, once I start eating I want MORE. Plus I'm reading like mad which helps put off meals further.

For me its been the 240's the most. In the late 90s it didnt matter how much I pigged out or how much I dieted I was always in the 240s. Then in the early part of 2000 I gained for no reason but didnt have health insurance so I didnt go to a Dr to see why and got up to 298. Then it was 286 that I kept ending up at over and over. Now I'm back in the 240s for a year now.

I need to take pictures but my husband is terrible at it and I dont know if my camera has a timer. I need to do it. I did measure myself- what a horror!

OMG, Lorrie you sound like me! I have been way hungry and feel like I count every minute to the next meal when I start to get hungry. Today is VLCD3 and I'm waiting to take my first drops until mid-morning and hope that makes getting to lunch easier. Does the actual act of taking the drops stave off hunger, I wonder? /shrug

I always played around in the 140's, never getting down to that magic 139 number. I swear I will run around the block screaming when I see that number on the scale. Only 10 pounds to go!

Good idea putting on your 'goal' pants in your photos. I saw that done on YouTube too and thought it was cool. I did my photos, gulp, in a bikini. Can't hide nuttin that way.

Hi Lala, I'm on VLCD 29 and pressing forward. I can't eat oranges. They make me hungry. lol. So, I primarily eat apples, strawberries and every once in awhile grapefruit. You will LOVE the chili. It is my fave next to my steak lunches. My dd loves it too. I'm not sure if it is the big bowl I can have on plan or the taste but I'll take it I'm using a chorizo seasoning for seasoning and it is yummy with just a bit of kick. I find that when I'm having a hungry day I like to have a whole cucumber or a bunch of cabbage as my veggies. Fills me up every time. Some people have problems losing with the cabbage but you might want to give it a try and see if you can have it cos it sure is yummy in stirfries and soups.

I can't imagine watching the kids eating their foods in the starting days of the plan. Once you start to see some lovely results I think it would still be challenging but less tempting. I know when I've been out it has been hard to be around all the foods but I've just stuck to my guns and made my way through. I'm going to a party tonight and I know the wine and appetizers will be flowing but I'm taking a bottle of water and remembering what I want to accomplish. Wishing you and Lorrie a lovely day.

WW, on days I work I'm on here sometime after 12 midnight to sometime before 8am. I work 10pm to 8am but the best time to be online is 12 to 6.

I've been on graveyard 2 years this time. Its actually by my choice. I have the senority to work any shift but grave is peaceful. It messes me up on the weekends though.

I wasnt hungry at all the day after I didnt eat but half my food. In fact I'm only hungry AFTER I eat my first meal. Tonight I will try to space my food out better. Last night I waited too long to eat. The not drinking for 15 min before and after the drops is the hardest part to manage for me.

Seems like we are all doing pretty awesome!! May it continue.

Well no release today so there will be one tomorrow. Que Sera, Sera!

My little Granddaughters have been singing that lately. I asked where they heard it and they said thier Momma. I played them the Doris Day clip on youtube and they were seriously underwhelmed.

At 8am my weekend begins. I dont go back to work until Monday night. When to weigh and when to eat and dose will be different but in the end probably wont matter.

I wont have coffee on the weekend- I can only drink it at work because the office is freezing- seriously I wear a Hoodie with a thick Fleece jacket over it and I cant wear sandals- I have to wear thick socks and tennies or I am miserable. Maybe it will help to not have that little splash of milk, or something.
