What to eat while traveling?
Hi all,
In a couple of weeks, I will be flying across the country to take my daughter to college at Rutgers University. We'll be taking the redeye from Seattle to Newark, so no eating issues then. But, once we get there, I'll be in a hotel for five days! I was thinking packages of tuna, then found out no tuna on this plan. Someone suggested chicken in a pouch, so I'll try to find those. I won't have a car, but assume I'll be within walking distance of a store. Hate to take up weight in my suitcase with cans of asparagus! This isn't going to be easy, so any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks! |

Will your hotel have a fridge and microwave? or ? maybe you can check menus of restaurants in the area online and get a gameplan together that way if you wish to eat out. If there is a store closeby you could always go with cooked shrimp, a chilled veggie and fruit. Since you're settling in your daughter, will you be bringing any appliances with you that you could use temporarily before you go home? I've seen teeny little electric skillets that would be perfect for 10 bucks in all the stores around here. You could easily prepare your meals in something like that and it wouldn't take up a bunch of space in your luggage either. I'll keep thinking.
