Phase 2 - Amino Acids and Ketosis

It is mentioned to use to use Amino Acids in Phase 2 and Braggs Amino Acid's I see a lot of people using here.

It is sky high in Carbs for a 1/2 tsp!!!!

So, how do you use them and keep your carbs lower to stay in ketosis?

I haven't purchased any and was wanting to try them out, but I don't want to fall out of ketosis either.

i use way less than a tsp and have never worried about being in ketosis fat was releasing even when the ketostix never showed anything anyways so i quit using them i have lost 78 pounds since October 09 by doing hcg and it has been all fat i can tell by how my body has reshaped and tightened with no weakening of my muscles(without exercise) i have used braggs liquid aminos all 5 of my rounds

I just use them for cooking, it tastes like soy sauce. I never worry about measuring or carb counts either.

I agree with the others. I never used a whole bunch of the liquid aminos while cooking with it on P2. And this whole plan is NOT low carb. It is purposely low calorie. We don't count carbs on hcg. You cannot think of this as low carb--this is totally revolutionary and out of the box thinking for those who have followed low carb for a long time. Please remember this. That is why melba and grissini is included in the plan. So you can eventually bring back those carbs into your diet down the line.

I understand that it is low calorie, but without eating the melba toast and the grissini - it is pretty low carb also..........

I am usually around 500 calories and 50 carbs for the day.

My bottle says 100 mg per 1/2 teaspoon. 100 milligrams is a negligible amount, really (1/1000th of a gram). Unless you use a cup at a time, I suppose.

I don't use Bragg's because as someone who is sensitive to msg, it messes me up big time. It doesn't have actual msg in it, but it has something that is close enough for a lot of people with msg trouble. That is why they can no longer put "no msg" on the bottle. I just take my normal amino acid supplements when I am on protocol. I don't think it has caused any problem. Oh, and I have a homeopathic amino acid supplement I take too.

The low carb thing is kind of tricky because if you look at your g of carbohydrate it is a very low number. When I type in my average day into something like ****** it is only 35g of carbs, but those 35g represent 36% of my total calories. (I don't eat the grissini due to gluten intolerance.) That is a total percentage of carbs that is higher than your typical low carb diet.

I don't eat the melba or grissini either for the same reason.

I can't have cabbage either due to allergies and it makes me swell up. And I love cabbage.
