I try for that--differing my proteins every day. But there was a poster here a while back that ate only chicken and tomatoes---every single day for every single meal except for 2 or 3 and she still lost really well. So you can try it and see. I have also tried a chili day where I made up 2 servings of P2 chili and that only for the day. It worked the first time I tried it--lost really well. Then not so good the next time. So you just have to try!!

When I have tomato and feel like having another veggie--then I count the tomato as a fruit. So if you count my servings from above---the chicken and fish is my protein (2); the tomato and strawberry are my fruit (2); the onion and cucumber is my veggies (2); and I had a melba and grissini (2). That adds up to 8 things for the day!!! That is how I count my food--we are allowed 8 things and as long as I get 2 of each portion then I am good!!! HTH!!!

I am trying to think of what to eat for dinner actually! The only thing I have cooked is chicken BUT I do have eggs and cottage cheese. I am leaning towards the cottage cheese, but trying to figure out my veggie if I go with that. I swear this gets so much harder the further out you get into it!!!

I wish I liked veggies more. I am the opposite of you---I love the fruit and can do without the veggies. In fact I have skipped veggies numerous times!

Yikes! We can't mix veggies? Even if it is just 2T chopped onion with my cabbage? Shoot!

L: 6 steamed shrimp, boiled radishes, strawberries with ACV & sweetener
D: 96% lean ground beef, 2T onion, 2.5 cups shredded cabbage sauteed with chicken broth, honeycrisp apple

Water and tea throughout the day.

mistydisa Let me chime in here, I know in the protocol he clearly states not to mix veggies, but I have to say since I started I've been using an organic spring mix, now granted I don't eat salads everyday but the days I have eaten them I've lost, so it doesn't to see to have an negative effect on me..

BusyMomOf4 I did make that biz shake the one with the spinach and cocoa yesterday and drank it quite late, I was out running all day I try not to eat after 8pm and I had a lose of 1.4 this morning. I don't think I would make the shakes that often but for some treat it's a nice thing if your craving something sweet.

MelissaBee I think most would consider 2T chopped onions as a spice because it really cooks down, I made a stew yesterday that included 1T chopped onions and celery, so we'll see how the my losses are in the morning..

Ditto on both of these. I use the organic spring mix for salads all the time and consider a small amount of onion a "spice".

Tomatos are an easy veggie to pick up on your way to work. Your menu looks good. There is contraversy on the oranges whether they are on the original Pounds and Inches protocol so keep an eye out to see if they make you stall.

I don't eat tomatos. I was wondering about the orange since I don't see many people eating them. The copy I read lists oranges multiple times
This was only my second orange so I'll see if it slows me down any.

I only dropped .1 this morning, but I had LC chili yesterday, an apple and 4 strawberries, plus other foods. I think I it was too many carbs for me, plus I did not exercise.

Today:
B: 1 egg, 1 egg white, .5c LF cottage cheese, 5 slices strawberries
L: ckn and fresh spinach, lemon and balsamic vinegar
D: shrimp with lemon and garlic and asparagus

I'm new. How does it look?

I'd be tempted to eat either the eggs or the cottage cheese but not both at the same time. Balsamic Vinegar is a no no because it has sugar in it.

Thanks for the feedback. Next time I will skip the cottage cheese.

What type of vinegar is suggested? Is red wine too sugary too? How about apple cidar vinegar? Rice vinegar? Every one I think of sounds like it has sugar in it.

Is it OK to have tomatoes, apple, and strawberries all in the same day?

I think balsamic is the only one not allowed but I am sure the pros will be in to confirm that. When you have your eggs, you are allowed one whole and 3 whites which will be more filling. If you eat your tomato as your veggie then yes, you can have all three on the same day. If you use the tomato as a fruit then only one other fruit is allowed.

Mindfulness, does that tea help with the hunger? If so I'll have to find it somewhere...

Soda water helps me immensely. I buy the kind without Splenda, lime flavored and add Orange Stevia. Yumm!
Coffee helps too. Yerrbe Matte tea is also supposed to be helpful, but it's not real tasty. So it's not my first choice. I drink a gallon - 1 1/2 water a day and that helps too.
If your hunger gets bad you can have low sodium chicken broth heated, or make a soup! Very filling!

Yes, I really think it does. (and it tastes wonderful, if you like blueberries) Here's the product description:

Quote:
Green Tea Blueberry Slim LifeTM is specifically formulated not only to support healthy weight loss, but also to help give you the energy you need to maintain an active lifestyle while dieting. To help suppress the appetite, we add a natural extract of the fruit Garcinia cambogia. We add green tea to supply antioxidants, and ginseng-eleuthero extract to help provide extra energy.* With a light yet sweet blueberry flavor and hints of organic hibiscus, Green Tea Blueberry Slim Life is a fragrant and delicious addition to a weight loss program supported by exercise and a balanced diet.
I was so hungry yesterday, I ate an extra cucumber mid-day. I'm not advocating eating extra food, just if you feel like you are going to pass out and can't function. We just moved and I haven't gotten everything unpacked so I couldn't find my tea. I got my first box at my local health food store, then bought a 6 pack from a certain online place that does 2 day shipping. I thought the whole 40 days were going to be as bad as the first week. It wasn't at all though. It will go away, I promise.

You can also take your lemon, slice, eat with potassium salt. Then I take my used wedges and throw it into my water (or tea) - that might be yuck but I like it! Yerba mate helps with the hunger too.

I second the broth idea. Definitely helped me my first couple days. And that warm liquid calms a rumbly tummy.

Something about this protocol makes for horrible spelling and typos.

Yesterday I typed "equation" when I meant "occasion". Crazy!

That is funny! Horrible spelling & Memory! I have as bad a memory on hcg as I did when I was pregnant! When I was pregnant, I locked my keys in the car 3 times, once while the car was running!
While on hcg, I have lost our checkbook, my purse,my keys and many other things! I still have yet to find my keys! They are "keyless" so it's $400 to replace!
I lost them in my second week of round 1. Still haven't found them! How do you lose keys, going from the garage to the kitchen?
Yes, looked in all the trash cans!

Yesterday I typed "equation" when I meant "occasion". Crazy!

That is so funny I noticed on R1 I kept making typing errors but didn't think too much about it. Then on P3 it disappeared, now back on P2 I can't type for the life of me!!
