walking during P2

I walked daily (about 20-30 min.) until about 2 months ago then I slacked off:blush: Do you think it would be a problem to start walking again even though I am about to start P2 in a little over a week (sooo excited about that BTW)?

I'm pretty sure a daily walk is recommended in P2

I intend to keep walking instead of running but stop my weights for the 3 weeks am going to be on hhcg! Below is info I found on another site regarding P2 and exercise....

Dieters who insist on incorporating a workout while on the HCG diet could inhibit their weight loss. While limited amounts of exercise are okay (20 minutes of walking, for instance) intense workouts just aren't supportable. Exercise increases hunger.

And on top of that...the combination of the very low calorie diet and the exercise could cause the body to go into starvation mode; holding onto the weight you're trying to lose. It has a negative impact by lowering your stamina and many lose their commitment to the diet plan.

HCG dieters who were upset by the lack of exercise incorporated in the program eventually realized that the weight loss and fat loss were worth the lack of exercise. When they got back to the gym they had better work outs than ever before. The weight loss leaves you with more energy and you'll feel the effects of a more healthy weight as you pick up your exercise regime where you left off.

Also another idea for you is to do gentle yoga or callanetics a few days a week that keeps you toned up while your losing pounds and inches I am going to miss my weights and running but its only 3 weeks right? and we can still walk!!!

I walk a half an hour or so in grocery store everyday. I get a coffee, pick up a few things at the store and walk around in the AC The store I go to isn't busy when I'm walking, so it's nice and it entertains me.

OK, thanks. When school starts up again I will resume my lunch time walks. I get so lazy in the summer:blush:. I noticed when I walked during lunch I wasn't as hungry to eat. Just don't want anything to inhibit the weight loss!

I'd start walking now so that when you start the drops you won't be introducing the exercise. It's always great to get some walking in on any plan imho.

(I just posted a question about exercise :blush

Right now I lift heavy weights 3 times a week. I also run/jog/speed walk no more than 5 miles a day (it varies) but no more than 5 miles. Is it safe to assume I can continue walking (won't run or even jog) while on P2? I know I will have to 100% give up my lifting for the 3 weeks but do I have to give up my cardio?

BTW - I plan on loading Sept. 5 & 6 (or 6 & 7)....I have been exercising all summer and plan on continuing until I start the protocol but would love to continue if I could.

Intense exercise isnt allowed but you can walk for 20 minutes aday or so, I had to give up my weigths and running up too and plan to do some light walking and callanetics just to stay active.

I continued to do C25k while on P2, but I wouldn't call how I ran "intense" I think most people walk fast than I "ran". But I did it 3x/week. Of course, I wasn't one of the prolific or fast losers, with a 15 lb loss in 28 vlcds. My last week I only lost 0.4 lbs overall! I wonder if my running had anything to do with it? I haven't run this week at all (too humid and stormy in the a.m.) but I think for my next round I'll walk instead of run in P2.
