why not tuna?
I am really not going to mess with the Dr.'s protocol, just wondering why tuna is not allowed. Possibly he meant fresh tuna? Maybe the only canned tuna in his day was packed in oil? Seems to be about the same cals as chic breast. Anyone know? Would make a great/easy meal in bind. Has any successful hcgers used canned tuna?

Canned White Albacore packed in Water
I used this throughout my P2 and have had friends do the same without seeing stalls or slow downs. It definitely broadened my recipe options! I always always always suggest that people stick to the original protocol but I figured out what worked and what didn't work for me and that's truly what I would suggest you do. Try tuna and see what the scale says the next 2 mornings. If you don't see a stall or a gain, then I would say it's fine.

I used the tuna in the pouch because I was traveling and it was about the only thing I could take with me on the road that didn't need to be refrigerated.
So far so good. |
Chouter, another option would be white chicken breast meat in the packets. I'm sticking with what the protocol says but yeah, there's lots of stuff like that. Why no green beans or brocolli? or things that have the same nutritional values. Not sure why, but I'll wait until R3 to have them.

I hadn't thought about the chicken. Good idea. I'm back to work today (bummer!) but will hit the grocery store after and pick up foods that are for sure on protocol. Thanks!

thanks for the thoughts!! I plan to stick to protocol to a T. I can do that for 23 days!! Just so curious about things like this.

For those of you that do eat tuna, Fry's (Kroger) has a great deal going right now on the indy bags of tuna. When you buy 8 participating products (there's a whole group of products to choose from to get the deal) they are only .49 per pkg. Super cheap.
