Let's talk vitamins?

What if any, are you taking? I just started b-12 yesterday after reading about it in the big thread but am not sure how much to take? How much do you all take? how did you decide? Thanks.

FTR, I take a multi, potassium, b-12 and biotin.

I take a multi, a blood builder with iron and b vitamins, msm, and some supplements to support thyroid on phases 2-4. On phase 2 I also take homeopathic b vitamins and homeopathic amino acids. On phases 3-4 I switch to my regular aminos and add in vitamin d and fish oil.

I know that in Pounds and Inches Dr. Simeon's says not to worry about iron, but I am constantly fighting anemia and I found I needed to keep taking my iron or I became exhausted. The homeopathic b's and aminos really helped a lot with my energy levels and mood in phase 2 as well.

Oh, I also take potassium when I remember it, but I tend to forget it probably because I don't have cramps. I am sure that would cause me to remember!

I take a multi, probiotics, magnesium, B12 (not sure how much, the bottle is downstairs) potassium and Vitamin D.

I take ALOT of supplements, but have stopped all but these and will resume with everything once I'm in P3.

I stopped all mine (multi, glucosamine, calcium and D) except turmeric (I get skin boils if I don't take that) until today on P3. I never had cramps, bernice was always as regular as ever, and I felt I had good energy most of the time.

I have still been taking my vitamins. I know you arent supposed to but I have to take mine. Also I have been taking extra iron because Iam anemic which I wondered if the diet made my iron low ?

I haven't started taking any yet but I'm thinking I probably should. I bought B12, Potassium and Magnesium but I'm afraid to take them. I'm afraid I'm going to take the wrong dose. I should have just bought a multi-vitamin for Women and Diet (1ADay makes them) but I thought I read somewhere that multi-vitamins are full of stuff we don't need I'm not a doctor and I do not play one on TV so taking pills always makes me nervous unless it's been given to me by a doctor or is VERY simple.

I figured I'd take 1 Potassium pill if I start getting leg cramps and will take 1 Magnesium when I start having problems with BM's (neither of which is the case yet). No clue what the B12 is for but I bought it. According to ******, I'm not getting enough of a lot of other nutrients so I'm going to buy a multi tomorrow, just to be safe.

Where can sublingual b12 be bought? My pill form had sugar in it. I am clueless and didn't know 'ose' at the end meant sugar.

I found my sublingual B-12 at Vitamin Shoppe. Just search out the health food stores near by. And mine included some kind of sweetener. I still took it!! I thought that I needed the energy more than the tiny bit of sugar that was in it. I think you will do fine with what you have!

I stopped all unnecessary pills while on P2. That will be different for everyone though as to what is necessary! I did add in the B-12(I pill with each meal, so at least 2 a day); potassium (again, 1 pill with each meal, so at least 2 a day). I made sure to get those in. Anything with oils was out---so no more Vitamin D or fish oils for me on P2!

Bumping up for an update:
I've added a combo of calcium, zinc and magnesium plus a probiotic in prep for P3. My Frys has had bogos plus coupons on the bottles making these very affordable

I suggest NO multi vitamins during P2. It is not necessary. The ones you NEED are potassium (if you intake water and get cramps) and B-12 for the energy. That is all that I see routinely suggested by a nurse on the yahoo groups. Anything else has the POTENTIAL to stall due to the fillers they use in the tablets/pills and slow down your losses. Save the multi for P3.

Got it!
Although, I AGAIN have another question..sorry,,,
Even with the Mg's I have?
3 potassiums would be 1785mg a day.
3 b-12's would be 1500mcg's

Your post are Always SO helpful...Sometime when LaLa and I are reading post to each other..I will say.."what does Dawnyana have to say about that?" or when we have a question..." we should postand hopefully she will respond"

Thanks for your patience and support. You are appreshiated

Oh, you are too kind... My bottles say the same thing as yours. You should be OK. Now remember that Gracie has 4 of the potassium a day. I am not so sure how many or how much B-12 she takes but I know she does take the B-12.

I'm not sure I would take that many without asking AGAIN and verifying it. Maybe you should start off with one. I take 4 tablets a day at 99mg each! Good luck!

Sorry if I confused you... I was actually worried about you taking too much. Hopefully Dawn will come back in and help. There's a thread on this forum about potassium. I don't know how to insert a link though. I think the people there are taking the 99mg.

When I looked at my bottle it says there is 99 mg of potassium.....BUT it also says 595 from potassium glutomate. So I was going by the second number on my bottle. I believe she has the right vitamin!! And taking up to 4 a day is going to be OK.

OK, so here I am back on P2 and now I can share what I am taking during protocol. After doing this for 4 rounds I have found my combo that is right for me. I have hormonal issues and after having a hair analysis with my doctor she has me taking things and I have found a few things that have helped tremendously on this WOE. While eating "normal" I have a longer list, but this is what I just cannot and will not do without. This is the list I take:

Metabolism T3 (for my thyroid)--I take 6 a day
Betaine HCl Pepsin (for my protein digestion)--2 a day after eating my proteins
Endo-dren (for my adrenal fatigue)--I take 4 a day
Potassium---have not decided yet how many to take
B-12 2 times a day
Cinnergen (for my blood sugar levels)--only once a day

I **think*** this is all!!! I will add if I find I have forgotten something!!

Already forgot my Natural Calm!!! LOL. How could I ever forget that one???!!! Taken at night before bed.
