We spend Christmas Day here with extended family, and then drive up on the 26th and stay a week while the kids are still out of school. We it there, it's soooo beautiful! It's almost a 9 hr. drive for us though!

supposedly if you don't do it by the protocol, you risk gaining. I don't know what to tell you in that aspect.. maybe you should do a couple more days of loading and really, really load. He does mention that some people load for up to a week.

I tried giving up beef but it didn't make a difference. My menu for yesterday:
B: Coffee
L:Beef onion stir fry (in water/Bragg's amino acids), strawberries, grissini
D: Grilled chicken, celery (in broth), apple, grissini.
1 gallon of water - 1 glass of unsweetened iced tea

Nothing new as far as supplements/lotions/etc. I haven't done my normal 3x week runs for 2 weeks now (until today). I have hiked on the weekends, but bad weather/soreness have kept me from doing my normal workouts.

I really wanted to lose 7 more this round. I'm down 15 but want more!

And at this point--maybe your body is saying "enough already". Good idea to listen than force it into something it doesn't want to do.
I think I will. I'll do 2 more vlcd days then move on. Thanks!

I think, as with any plan, our bodies get used to the way we are eating and learns how to hold on to the weight, the great thing about this plan is that it gives your body a break from losing, thus allowing you to sort of shock your body into losing again once you are done with P3 and P4 (which I've decided to actually do). I think this is what makes this such a successful way of losing. Enjoy P3!
Good theory. I think my body is getting used to it. Darn efficient body.

Just wanted you to know you aren't alone! I also sort of feel the same...stabilized at 500 calories a day. No hunger any more. But hopefully we've both just got water filling up our fat cells, and we are both due some big WHOOSHES soon!

BTW, I finally made the P2 chili and LOVED IT! Anyone who hasn't tried it go for it! YUM!
The chili rocks! I have 3 servings made up and I'll eat that for the rest of my vlcd meals. The grilled chicken I have left I can give to my dog, but he's not getting my chili!

I think I will cycle. I started running again today and I was down a pound after I returned (it was really humid and I sweated like crazy) and try to maintain.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, this thread is such a great resource and I really appreciate all the support.

Is is better to keep unused hhcg drops in the fridge if they aren't going to be used for awhile? I just got a fresh unopened bottle yesterday and have a bout 1/4 my old bottle left.

So... do all of you with several short rounds done do a full 3 wk P3 and a full 3 wk P4? I'm trying to figure out when I can start my second round of P2.

Also, anyone using the MFC spray, could you please tell me how much space is at the top of a new bottle? I can't remember and I think I have enough left for a short round but not sure! It says it lasts 45-50 days and I've done 26 dosing days already and will need 23 dosing days for my second round. Any thoughts? Should I have enough?

I NEVER stored any of my Hhcg in the fridge. It is NOT necessary. I still have leftover opened bottles from last summer. I keep them in the cupboard in the kitchen--out of the light. They are still just fine! Just think--2 days til eggs cooked in butter!!! Yeah for P3!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just a newb, but I think if you are following Dr. S's protocol...yes you should take a 6 week break to let yourself reset your hypothalamus. I do know that lots of people cycle, but I prefer to follow according to the protocol and actually he recommends doing 4 week P3 and 4 week P4 after your 2nd round and before your third round of P2.

Of course we are all different.

If my dh was still alive he'd turn the air down super low and light a fire in the fireplace He was very fun!

I guess cycling is not the correct term, but its when people do short rounds with not enough rest time in between. For example, they do a 23 day round and then only take 2-3 weeks P3 and go right back into their next round of P2.

For me, I really want this to work as I was so stuck in my weight loss. I also want the weight to stay off. After reading (& re-reading) Dr. S's protocol, I really think our bodies need that rest time in between rounds.

What a strange piece of advice. Draining well is one thing, even blotting w/ a paper towel, but rinsing the ground beef in water -- yuck!!

I am actually planning on having a portion of the chili that I made late last week for lunch. Need to finish it off. But no rinsing will be involved unless you count all of the water I drink while eating it.

Down .2 today. I'll take it. Since I came down from my bounce yesterday, anything that moves in that direction is a good thing. If I stay on track it should continue for a bit more. Then maybe a bit of a woosh and another bounce (that just seems to be my pattern). I am not really averaging the .5 lbs per day, but as long as things progress I am OK with that.

I am really looking forward to P3 starting next Wed. Never thought I'd be so anxious to get back to my regular low-carb plan. It is going to seem like a treat!

I'm not even craving eggs in butter - but cheese and bacon! I'll put the drops in the cabinet.

The broth I bought is low sodium. It has been over a week, too, so if I was retaining water I'd have expected it to let loose sometime.

I saw that advice on TV a few years ago when low fat was so popular.

Good morning ladies....... funny we have no men in here, LOL.

Well I was down .5 today which is good. I am on Depo but since doing this I have been having TOM, this week has been horrible, cramps and all. I am going to look into another form of BC because I know depo is one that is related to much weight gain. This HHCG is working so that I will not stop.

We had a friend(s) over for dinner Sunday and she was very interested in the HHCG, she seen my drops on the counter, she works at a Dr office and thought I was trying to get pregnant She has a wedding coming up and can't find a dress. I gave her my P&I that I printed and she went to the local Health Food Store and bought the drops yesterday. We are going to start walking 2 miles in the evening together. It will be nice to have the support for each of us.

i think i figured out some of the issue...i started a higher dose of a supplement i'm taking for insulin resistance yesterday too, and i've noticed it makes me hungry. i laid off it today and i feel ok so far.

i somehow was still able to be a half lb down this morning so i'm gonna stick through it a while longer.

Morning Releasers!

Wow, lots of activity this morning! Congrats to everyone for making wise decisions! I'm on the fence as to whether to extend my round or not. I would love to hit 20 pounds as that is my goal weight but we shall see. I'm down another 1/2 pound for 14.5 pounds total and today is my 2 week anniversary for starting the VLCD I'll take it! I'm still amazed at how this plan works. It's crazy I think I've eaten all the stuff that I've been warned were potential stallers including eating beef everyday for the last 4 or 5 days? No problems here so if you're on the fence as to whether or not you can eat them and you really want them, I suggest giving them a try. We're all different and our bodies respond differently. I'm all about my steak for lunch these days

Here's todays menu: R1P2VLCD15
Grilled steak in my fave marinade, sauteed spinach with garlic, sliced apple
Grilled lobster tail, grilled asparagus and sliced strawberries
Water, water and more water with some unsweetened tea and 2 club sodas.

Yay! Definitely stick it out. You will be very happy you did. I have massive hunger my first 2 LCDs (esp the second one), but now very little. I was hungry yesterday (VLCD16), but today I feel great again. TOM is coming up in a couple of days so I am thinking that may be it.

Of course, i am no doc but I think you probably don't need the insulin resistance supplement while eating this way. But, talk to your doc about that since I have no business dispensing medical advice!

I was actually thinking about that too - I'm gonna call and ask him about it. I feel so much better physically right now. Also, I noticed the bottle of the supplement I got is WAY higher than what he suggested. I didn't think to check when I bought it.

Can I ask what supplements your doctor recommended? I'm assuming they are over the counter...

i think it's alpha lipoic acid. there's a few others he wants me on for cortisol and an adrenal complex, but i ordered them online and they're still not here yet. i feel great physically right now though, which is really great considering the recent mono.

WOE: maintaining 124-128 range
Start Date: 2/1/13
