I hear ya and understand. I am eating apples, grapefruit and strawberries. I have eaten strawberries on Atkins without an issue and I like the sour apples and grapefruit...call me weird! I am on day 6 with no diet cokes. I was literally addicted to it and drinking 8 or so a day...yes...I *know* they are horrible for you. I weaned off slowly for a week or so and drank my last one on Thursday. Figured I could detox the last of it out during my "loading" days. It has worked. I do miss it, but I don't *need* it like I used to....that was me...addicted to it!

Just ran out to the store to get some of the Bragg's Liquid Amino's and stopped by my grocery store to buy some eye round, and they didn't have any!! Will try again tomorrow, because I want steak with WalkingWoman's marinade!

Also stopped at the farm stand for some more tomatoes. I live in NJ and the Jersey tomatoes are soooo good right now. I know these can stall some, but I'm hoping that's not the case for me.

Just had an apple and feeling good!!

I never even thought about the deordorant and toothpaste but I've just stuck with my usual. Hmm. Can't even think of what brand it is? something I got for free no doubt couponing I use the Kroger brand exfoliator for my face in the shower and use VO5 as shampoo, conditioner and bodywash Super cheap at 69 cents a bottle! I bought an oil free pump hand soap for washing my hands, don't use any lotions or creams. For me, I am actually experiencing more moisture coming out of my skin on this plan. Not oily but definitely nice hydration and my skin looks fantastic as do my nails. I swear my nails have grown ridiculously since starting. Can't wait for my mani/pedi tomrrow or Friday. For cosmetics I use Lorac foundation, BE blush and eye makeup and my regular lipstick (probably CG?)
I'm missing my CG Oil of Olay foundation/blush but I'll live. I think for me the oils in stuff isn't making a diff? I colored my hair last week, used the conditioner, used the conditioner again yesterday and I'm losing fine. I guess we all have our areas where we alter the plan, or at least most of us

I was very tempted at Fry's to get the sf snowcone syrups. They're on sale for half price but I figured I've gone this long without adding stuff like that in, just keep going at the status quo. I think I was more interested in the great deal than I was the product Got some fabulous deals on markdown steaks. Geez, I'm totally into eating steak everyday for lunch. It seems to really stick with me and dinner can be light and I'm completely satisfied if not stuffed

No appetite today. Hmm. I'm going to eat lunch anyway and since dinner is super light anyway,I'm good to go. Making it an early evening as I was up too late last night and I feel much better when I get plenty of rest on this plan and I do believe it helps me in my releases. Ok, book done.

I'm still waiting on my drops and doing what I guess ya'll refer to as "pre-loading". Basically, I've been doing low carb for long that I only know how to either eat low carb, or pig out! But I'm soooo ready to just get my drops and get my loading done with so that I can move on to watching those numbers fall!

Also is there anybody on here that goes on dates regularly? Strangely enough, considering how fat I currently feel, I've been asked on a couple of dates this week. I would like to go, but don't know how to handle the actual date. Any advise?
When you ask how to handle the actual date, what do you mean? foodwise or do you have other questions or?

When you ask how to handle the actual date, what do you mean? foodwise or do you have other questions or?---I'm wondering about the food part. Lol Basically all the dates I've ever been on have been centered around eating a drinking. Go out for a nice dinner and then go to a bar and have some drinks. I mean I suppose I could say lets go to a movie, but these would be like first dates, so there wouldn't really be much of a chance to get to know the person.

Thanks everyone so much for all of the replies. I'm really looking forward to being able to work this website better and start dropping those pounds! Funny, I'm pretty computer lit, but...I can't even figure out how to upload my picture! I mean, I found where to go, but EVERY SINGLE picture I've tried tells me it has failed to download. Errrrr! Hope ya'll all have a happy evening!

Lubbock, when I've been going out I've been having club soda with lemon. Not very exciting but it's the fun of being out and the company, right? As for food, find some restaurants in your area that offer foods that will work with the plan and just order those things specifically. I have plans with a friend on Sunday for dinner and read up on their menu and found they offer steamed spinach in place of creamed, no butter on my steak, etc. I can see not wanting to come off as a super picky eater or something but honestly, if they rule you out as a potential future date, NEXT! You'll be able to access the playground when you have more posts. The uploading of the pic I'll leave for someone else. I'm clueless.

I think you have to have 60 posts or something like that before you gain Playground access.

As for the dating, WalkingWomen had some good ideas. Almost every place can grill a chicken breast and some asparagus.

I just finished my dinner - I sauteed my chicken breast in a hot non-stick pan with some Bragg's Aminos & sliced garlic, then I added my fresh spinach and some hot pepper flakes. The water from the spinach combined with the braggs and made a "broth". I served it to myself in a large soup bowl - the broth was really tasty! I also ate with chopsticks - I tend to be a fast eater and this helps me slow down and made the food last longer.

All in all my dinner was really good. I can see adding in the shiratake noodles, which I may do down the line. Anyone here using them in P2??

Still have 1/2 grapefruit waiting for me, then I am done. Unless I have a cup of camomile tea.....

Excited to weigh in the morning!

Great job MB. Your dinner sounds deliciuos and I love the idea of using chopsticks with a meal like that. They'd be great with a cabbage/protein combo too I bet Have to pick some up. I'm so bad at using them it will take forever to finish a meal I haven't used the shirataki and haven't bought any in ages. We have to go a half hour or so to even find them around here since WF quit carrying them so I don't make the jaunt often since nowhere else I frequent is in the area. Maybe I will venture out at some point and get some. My dd might like them too. Do you have the nutritional info? curious about how they fall into my plans. I can look it up but if you have a package handy it would be great. Also, which brand do you buy. I can't recall the brand they sell here at our Asian market.

I don't have any on hand, and haven't used them in a while, but I did read on some HCG forums that they are P2 friendly - I think the entire package is about 40 calories. I can think of so many tasty dishes I would make and they would really extend a meal.

I remember I didn't think they were that great when I tried them in the past, but I have a feeling I didn't rinse them enough. That is apparently the trick to using them successfully.

My grocery store sells them so I may pick up a package next week.

Tonight I bought some pre-cooked shrimp and separated it into 3.5oz servings, but got to wondering: since it's already cooked, am I still supposed to do 3.5oz, or less? I've never weighed raw shrimp vs cooked but I imagine there's some loss in weight.

It's too late for tonight's dinner (shrimp and asparagus in jalapeño mustard) but I'd really hate for a simple mistake like this to ruin my protocol.

Sassy, if they were frozen, I'd say you're fine. The ice adds to the weight so imho, go for it Shrimp are super lean too so if you're a little over I wouldn't think it would make a significant difference caloriewise.

Yeah, the rinsing is the key and the brand too. I can't even remember what the brand name was that I used to use but they were great for stirfrying and soups as I recall. Now that I think about it, arent they made from yams? Yams aren't on the protocol, so I'm not going near them until P3. I guess this is another 'everyone has to decide for themselves' type things.

I believe there is a type made with yams and a type made with tofu?? I've read they are P2 safe, but I really want to do P2 by the book so should wait until P3 to add them in.

Feeling a little hunger about now, but nothing terrible. Will head to bed soon and wake up skinnier (I hope! )

No it isn't frozen but you're right about the lean, according to ****** it has like next to no fat. I'll be more careful in the future but I think at least with the shrimp I should be okay. Total calories consumed today comes out to around 460 so at least I'm below the calorie marker. I guess the scale tomorrow or my smaller clothes will be the telltale signs right?
