Dry Brushing

Is the dry brushing technique okay to do while we are on Protocol?

I know massage is out of the question, so I was wondering if dry brushing is good to help circulate the toxins out of the body...........

Dry Brushing (for any of the phases)
It is WELL known that the Skin is the LARGEST Organ in the Body, and is responsible for one-fourth of the Body's Detoxification each day, also making it, one of the most IMPORTANT Elimination Organs! The Skin is also known as the "3rd" Kidneys and the Lungs are known as the "2nd" Kidneys. TOXICITY can gather beneath the Skin's Surface from such COMMON Influences such as IMPROPER pH levels in Body Soaps, Skin Creams and Anti-Perspirants, plus Synthetic Fibers worn NEXT to the Skin with ANY of them contributing to a variety of Skin Problems and Conditions.

When you do Skin Brushing, you HELP your Lymph System to CLEAN itself of the TOXINS, that COLLECT in the Lymph Glands. You use a Simple Technique to IMPROVE the Surface Circulation on the Skin and KEEP the Pores of the Skin OPEN, encouraging your Body's Discharge of Metabolic Wastes, and resulting in an IMPROVED ability to COMBAT Bacteria, plus HELPING your Skin to look and feel HEALTHIER and MORE RESILIENT! Skin Brushing is a PERFECT Treatment for SELF-HELP Enthusiasts.

Benefits:

TIGHTENS Skin.

HELPS Digestion.

REMOVES Cellulite.

STIMULATES Circulation.

INCREASES Cell Renewal.

CLEANS Lymphatic System.

REMOVES Dead Skin Layers.

STRENGTHENS Immune System.

IMPROVES Exchange between Cells.

STIMULATES the Glands, thus helping ALL of the
Body Systems to perform at PEAK EFFICIENCY!

How To Do Skin Brushing:

Buy a NATURAL, NOT synthetic, bristle brush, since it does NOT SCRATCH the surface of your skin.

Buy a brush with a LONG handle, so that you're ABLE to get to the areas of your body, that are NOT EASY to reach, when doing your own Skin Brushing.

Skin Brush, before showering or bathing, at least ONCE per day, and TWICE, if possible.

Do NOT wet your skin, since it will NOT have the SAME Effect, because this stretches your skin.

Do LIGHTER Strokes over and around your breasts, but do NOT brush the nipples.

Brush each part of your Body several times VIGOROUSLY, COMPLETELY brushing your WHOLE body.

Brush the soles of your feet FIRST, because the nerve endings there affect your WHOLE body, next Brush your ankles, calves, and thighs, then brush across your stomach and your buttocks and lastly brush your hands to your arms.

ALWAYS brush skin towards the heart.

Do circular counter-clockwise strokes on your abdomen.

Take a WARM bath or shower, which should always be followed by a COOL rinse at the end to INVIGORATE blood circulation and STIMULATE surface warmth.

Wash your brush every few weeks in water and allow it DRY.

I was doing it regularly and equated it to massage, so I stopped shortly of starting the Protocol.

There shouldn't be any reason to stop dry brushing. None of the issues that Simeons' raised against masssage really apply to dry brushing. It's not harsh or bruising and doesn't use any oils.

right there was a movement in the 50s of HARD massages to lose weight i am sure that is what he is talking about not having because of this passage

Quote:
Few indeed are the masseurs and masseuses who can resist the temptation to knead and hammer abnormal fat deposits. In the course of rapid reduction it is sometimes possible to pick up a fold of skin which has not yet had time to adjust itself, as it always does under HCG, to the changed figure. This fold contains its normal subcutaneous fat and may be almost an inch thick. It is one of the main objects of the HCG treatment to keep that fat there. Patients and their masseurs do not always understand this and give this fat a working-over. I have seen such patients who were as black and blue as if they had received a sound thrashing. In my opinion, massage, thumping, rolling, kneading, and shivering undertaken for the purpose of reducing abnormal fat can do nothing but harm. We once had the honor of treating the proprietress of a high class institution that specialized in such antics. She had the audacity to confess that she was taking our treatment to convince her clients of the efficacy of her methods, which she had found useless in her own case.

How anyone in his right mind is able to believe that fatty tissue can be shifted mechanically or be made to vanish by squeezing is beyond my comprehension. The only effect obtained is severe bruising. The torn tissue then forms scars, and these slowly contract making the fatty tissue even harder and more unyielding.
Articshark explains it better than i can in those P2 tips i posted
and a gentle relaxing massage could be a great treat to reward yourself at the end of a clean week and good losses

I thought massage was a no-no because of the oils/lotions used. I usually get a weekly massage due to a bad back, but have put them on hold while I'm on P2 and will see my chiropractor instead.

And I intend to start dry brushing as well, hoping it will help all of the lumps & bumps in my legs

I've always found this interesting but have never tried it. Does it really make a difference in the skins appearance or is it maining internally beneficial? How long do you spend each day doing this? I might add it to my routine.

I do it once in the morning. I takes any where from 15-30 minutes (depending on how long I spend brushing one particular area).

Yes, I see benefits in the form of less noticeable cellulite and smoother skin, no dryness and much softer..............

I'm getting a brush today. The site I read also recommended using plant oils after the shower. Do you normally do this or is this just something that site recommends and probably sells it If you did use oils, which ones did you use? Coconut? I never got into the coconut oil threads but have recently started thinking about using it in P3 after seeing the yummy recipes I figure if coconut oil is acceptable I could use it in my menus and on my skin.

Thanks Deb! I'll hold off on the CO till P3. Looking forward to starting this. It's fun trying new stuff and it really is a great investment in my skin. Funny how this plan has brought so many other interesting things into my life.
