Is anyone eating deli meats?

I picked up the brochure for Boar's Head at my supermarket. Some of the products have zero carbs. Now, to just find the ingredietns listing. Bet it's on their website. Anyone using deli meats? I know it's best to make your own but this might be an option for people that don't like to cook or don't have the time. My dd is starting next week and would love to use deli meat wraps with asparagus spears for her lunch with a fruit so we're looking for some options that might work for her.

eta: checked their website for ingredient info. None listed. My dd is going to check out the labels at the market before making any purchases. Wish it was online

I've used it in an emergency. But on Atkins, I don't do well on deli meats. Love them but they leave me hungry. So I've done my best to avoid them. I think it's one of those YMMV things.

Good to know. I'll have to let her know that. Thanks for the idea

Too bad no cream cheese in P2 she's thinking of using some asparagus spears or shredded lettuce as her veggie and wrap the meat around the veggies for an easy meal.

I may just be a nice Mommy and make her meals and she can pick them up. Yeah, she's spoiled I don't mind doing it but I think she needs to make the commitment on her own and me prepping her food may not help her commit because she won't be doing the work to get the job done

I do fine on processed meats on a regular plan but haven't ventured there on this one. I enjoy making my own protein and I like staying busy prepping it. I agree that it is YMMV like so many things with dieting. I'll tell her she'll just have to experiment or make the commitment to the meal prep.

I spent an hour in a Safeway a few months ago reading the labels of every single deli meat. It took that long to find one w/o added crap!!

Granted, my Safeway sucks donkey feet.

I agree. She just thought it would be easier for her. I told her it only takes a few minutes to light the bbq, grill and voila, a weeks worth of meat can be cooked all at once. Just wanted to post here and see if anyone had found any great deli meats around. I figured Boars head would be one of the best brands.

Now that you mentioned Safeway I remember they have chicken breasts in their deli. Wonder what the heck they put in those? Probably all kinds of junk.

how much does 100 grams of meat raw weigh after it's cooked? this is my issue with batch cooking - it feels like i have to measure it all out first and then cook a bunch of little batches at once. i want to do this but it just seems like so much cooking. i guess i could nuke everything in the steamer bags tho.

4 oz. equals 3 oz. cooked, so 3.5 raw oughta be like what? 2.75? Not a math expert.

DJ, I decided to be a nice Mom and grill my dd's meats for her for the week so she can just reheat or eat them cold. I'm just making her little dinners in freezer friendly containers with 2 compartments and using frozen veggies for ease. Then, I'm slicing up a bunch of strawberries and freezing them in their own containers too. She can cut her own apples
