Up .8 today Body Fat % is down a little, so it must be water.

I think it is TOM, as I have been spotting for the last couple of days. I am perimenopausal and haven't had a TOM visit since around April. I just wish it would actually get here and be done with it!!

To top it off, I forgot to bring my drops with me to work today!! I have a feeling it is going to be one of those days....

I'm happy.

P2 VLCD1 - 143.5
P2 VLCD2 - 139.5

I switched to suave shampoo to use as a body wash and I put away all the lotions and only use baby oil, even use this as a make-up remover. (I work in an office and I have to look good.)

I plan on eating mostly chicken with a few days of sea bass and one beef day per week.

I eat tomatoes as my fruit.

I weigh in grams to equal 500 calories. 100 grams of protein and the rest in veggies and tomatoes.

I don't have tom visiting me anymore. (Got rid of him 20 years ago)

I exercise. I cardio box 3-4 times a week and lift weights 2x a week, but I have done this for the past 2 years and as long as the weight comes off I will continue this.

I am 55 yo, 5'2" and weigh 133 - 139. I wear a size 4 pants and jeans. I am comfortable in medium shirts. Please don't use clothes sizes as a goal. There are way too many variations among designers and body shape to draw any conclusions to size. My goal is a 26" waist and 35" hips.

Thanks to Soonie for starting this in the PG.
Thanks to Dawn for all the v.v. helpful information.
Thanks to the rest of you who have shared, questioned, helped, experimented, lost, lost, and lost some more.

Dr. A did me good and helped me keep it off. Dr. S should be the icing on the cake. I will eventually combine the best of these two worlds and make them my own.

Mi

I added my wine in, and as long as I watched how much I had, and continued to weigh myself each day, I was fine. Now, I don't have it every day, and I drink my water with it (sip of wine, sip of water) - and definitely drink water after. All things in moderation. Good luck.

I had a glass of wine last night and the night before. I don't usually have wine (or any alcohol) a lot but wanted to try it and see if it effected me. I was the same weight both mornings after having a glass with dinner (.9 below lsw). I didn't overdo it though and stuck with the one glass at dinner like suggested in P&I. Hope that helps.

R2P2VLCD2 - and I lost every bit of the load weight plus another .8 pounds!!

I'm going to go ahead and say that I did NOT stabilize well and started at 209, about 9 pounds over my LIW. I'm putting it out there so people will see that if they have trouble stabilizing as well and that they are not freaks!!

So, I gained 3.6 loading and am now at 208.2.

Believe it or not, it was fruit. I look back at my chart and after I started eating fruit, I gained.

Fruit is a really, really hard thing for me to wrap my head around as being off-limits for me. I mean, it's not ALL fruits, and I've already made my peace with bananas and grapes being off limits, but it looks like there are very few fruits I can eat at all. Peaches, mangoes, cherries, figs, nectarines...aren't on the list.

Down 1.5 today!
Does it matter what kind of wine you drink? When I was going to the hcg clinic I was told red wine would be the first that I could add in.

Today I am having:
coffee
L: Dizzy salad- chicken, celery, 1/2 apple
S: other half of apple - wasa cracker (I like the one with the fiber)
D: Steak, salad, strawberries
Water!

Oops, missed this. I'm currently on VLCD20. I feel that I can easily do 40 days. I like eating this way, to be honest. I am going to try eating just chicken for my next 5-6 meals and see if that helps speed my losses. I really wish I could eat fish or seafood about now!

Hi, I started Simeon's back in March and had my first wine last Friday. I am currently in Phase 3. This is just my experience and of course YMMV, but I had two glasses of wine and woke up the next morning with the WORSE hangover of my life. I was ill for two days. I have no idea if this is normal or not and hopefully other people will chime in and tell you it was no big deal for them. I do have a lot of food sensitivities etc. but I had been a regular "glass or two" wine drinker before going on protocol so this reaction really surprised me.

I think I would proceed with caution and maybe only have a small amount your first time to see how you react.

I like eating this way too, and will go for the 40 days as well. I feel so much better eating so clean. Of course, I miss some things like avocados but there is a time for those soon enough!

Just had the P2 chili and it was awesome. I didn't put onions in mine and I added a bit too much cinnamon. Still yummy!

found this about alcohol YMMV
Quote:
Re-introducing Alcohol on the hCG Diet

One of the challenges for many on the hCG diet is eliminating alcohol from their diet routine. All alcohol is to be eliminated during Phase 2 & 3 of the Simeons Protocol.

What happens when you can add back in alcohol? I would caution you to consider the changes that your body has been through and tread lightly. If you are stabilized in P3 careful and see how your body reacts. I will share my story. I am in P3 and stabilized 100%. I attended a friends 40th birthday party and decided to have a little wine. Alcohol was free flowing and I knew this was my first time and wanted to go with what I knew and stayed conservative and safe with my wine of choice. They were serving in little small glasses and I can remember being fine casually drinking all evening and then woke up the next morning wondering what in the world happened. It felt like the movie the “Hangover.” I was fine until I wasn’t.

This would have me issue a caution to all that you need to be careful adding back in alcohol. During our hCG diet not only has our body and metabolism changed but we have also lost significant pounds and inches that helped absorb the alcohol.

I did a little research and found a few clinical studies of hCG and alcohol, mainly for fertility reasons but the effects of the alcohol on female hormones while on hCG for dieting would be the same. Ten women were studied during the mid-luteal phase (between days 17 and 23) of their menstrual cycle. Plasma estradiol, progesterone and prolactin were measured before and after simultaneous administration of 5000 I.U. of hCG (Profasi) and alcohol or placebo solution under double-blind conditions. There was a significant increase in plasma estradiol (P less than .001) and prolactin levels (P less than .01) after hCG and alcohol administration but not after hCG and placebo administration. Plasma progesterone increased significantly (P less than .001) above base line after hCG and placebo administration but this was not observed after hCG and alcohol administration. Study

I found it interesting the elevated level of estradiol and prolactin levels mixing hCG and alcohol. I know a few people have reported having a drink while on protocol and feeling the affects quickly.

Just use caution and realize small glasses can be deceiving…

Morning! Congrats to all our Releasers!!!
Scale was going back and forth this morning so I'm down less than a full half of a pound but definitely down something! I'm tempted to get the scale that measures less than .5. Hmmm. Maybe a trip to Wallyworld will be my activity for the day

Here's my menu:
Grilled marinated steak, steamed spinach with fresh garlic, sliced strawberries

Blackened tilapia with cajun seasoning, steamed asparagus, baked apple with cinnmaon and stevia.

I'm out of grissini and don't plan to replace. They are the one thing in my house that is tempting to overdue. LOL. I've eliminated every food in my house that is not to protocol. I decided that I wanted to be 100 percent committed and since I live alone, don't have to worry about anyone else's dietary needs or wants
