Paisley ~ I'm glad lowering the dose worked for you! Sometimes if you are going over the recommended upper level of 175 iu/day you have the opposite effect of the hcg. Your hunger shouldn't increase though. Maybe try to find the best dose in between the high one and the one you are doing now. Congrats!!!

still lost 21.6 pounds in 3 weeks!
Thank you! But, I have only lost 2.6 net lbs, so I am a little discouraged.

I haven't eaten anything off-plan so I am wondering if it's some of my products. I use Lubriderm and Pantene. I looked at the ingredients and noticed Lubriderm has glycerin which I think is made from fat. Anyone know for sure? If so, what do you use for a face moisturizer?

When I started I looked at ALL the old threads and found out that Ragdoll (barbara is her real name) made the suggestion of Na-PCA. It is made with aloe vera and is oil free. I found it in my vitamin shoppe. I use my oil free acne soap in the shower and afterwards just spray this stuff on and I love it! Oh, and let me add....I have sensitive skin. Pretty much everything makes me break out!

Hey I have a quick question...and I have been googling but no answer yet.I have problem skin on my face.No Dr. has really been able to give me a for sure diagnosis.Ive been told Eczema,Rosacea,Dermatitis, ect, ect,Anyway I found a lotion that works better than any steroids given me.Aveeno Calming Cream with feverfew. It states oilfree but????If I use it a few times a week my skin looks fine,if notI'm highly allergic-so No substitutes, even vaseline irritates my skin.
I've had to use a small amount around my nose(I dry out there fast) 2x since starting. My losses have been good so far...not sure what to do.

Good Morning Ladies! Wishing everyone a lovely day!

Here's my menu for today:
Cucumber/lean ground beef sliders with with cucumber basil strawberry salad, strawberries. I'll use my grissini in my burgers.
Stirfry chicken breast with cabbage, seasoning and sliced apple, 1 grissini
I'm drinking tons and tons of water and iced tea. My skin looks better than ever and I actually think my face is looking younger I'll be weighing on Saturday AM to see how much I lost this week.

Kim, If it is oil free it should be fine. I'd continue to use it and enjoy your wonderful scale results

Be sure you look at the ingredients closely - I saw a moisturizer that stated oil free but when I looked it did have some oil in it. I can't remember the brand, but just be aware.

I looked up the ingredients for that and it has glycerin.

From wikipedia:
Quote:
Glycerol is currently categorized by the American Dietetic Association as a carbohydrate. The U.S. FDA carbohydrate designation includes all caloric macronutrients excluding protein and fat. Glycerin has a caloric density similar to table sugar, but a lower glycemic index and different metabolic pathway within the body, so some dietary advocates[who?] accept glycerin as a sweetener compatible with low carbohydrate diets.

Paulabob, you have a blessed day too. And as we say around here, you have it all.day.long!
You're definitely doing great, and speedier than me. I've always been a pretty slow loser however. Today is my vlcd day 11, an I'm 7 net pounds down (12.8 including load weight).

My goal is to reach the 170s. I guess that would be about a 13 pound goal. I don't sound to ambitious do I? But it's been so many years since I was there, it sounds like Heaven! So anything beyond that will be pure gravy!

I believe glycerine is allowed. He disallows fats, not sugars, from lotions. Every lotion has a humectant, with glycerine being the most common. Honey is also a humectant, and there's several other chemicals which function that way.

The humectant helps trap the water and keeps it from evaporating it right out of your skin.

Ok, you know way more about it than me! Thanks for the clarification. So, it looks like the Lubriderm I am using is fine, then since the glycerin was the only thing that looked suspect to me.

hcground - what is your soaked oatmeal? I usually have Steel Cut oats in the morning with some raisins and it doesn't seem to affect me. I am in P4D11 and have stayed within the 2 lbs. LOVE this protocol!

Alright ladies, I'm gearing up for my loading days and am going shopping today for round 1's items (a scale is top of my list; will probably hit Whole Foods for some ground veal). I'm crossing my fingers that the HCG will get here today or tomorrow; I was hoping to give myself at least one weekend day to adjust to VLC (and I only have Sunday off this week).

I just want to be absolutely sure on something though: I start dosing on my loading days don't I? I'm still waffling on whether to enjoy a variety of menu options or stay low carb (or do both, I've seen some recipes I'm dying to try that are a bit higher carb!) but it would suck to start this out wrong and ruin my chances of a good round.

2. I did not stop the drops with my TOM, I kept losing throughout, not to mention it made my TOM much better than it has been in decades. With the hhcg you do not have to stop dosing, my TOM is much like yours (I stop for 3-4 days and then have my real TOM) and it really went well.

3. I will let the more experienced touch on the vitamin question as I don't take them.

She ate the rest of the bag. LOL. I know next time....I will press them out a LOT thinner than I did befor. That will help with the drying time. I used the jollytime NACHO CHEESE popcorn seasoning on them also.

I never did low-carb while loading. I ate whatever I wanted because I knew I would be in P2 for at least 23 days. Enjoy yourself!!! I ate donuts, cheesecake, cookies, ice cream cake, meatballs & garlic bread, etc. It doesn't say to eat low-carb, just high fat. Some people had some detox issues but the most I ever got was a headache for which I just took some aspirin.

Yes, you dose on your loading days...I did both, I did not want to only do low carb and did not have any carb withdraw at all during my first week.

I'm going camping this weekend - any tips? I'm planning on cooking my protein up beforehand (and bringing extra in case we end up staying an extra night) and tossing it on the grill to reheat. I'm not bringing a whole camp kitchen as we aren't going to be spending that much time at the campground (we'll be hiking/geocaching and just using the campsite to sleep and relax - not cook!). I can bring apples, but what veggies travel well and can be eaten with minimal prep? I have celery for one.

You could use foil packs and make a bundle of asparagus with fish/shrimp or chicken. Sliced cucumbers in vingegar, cabbage slaw?

As for the dehydrator, it had a little booklet that shows how long to leave the fruit/veggies in. But honestly, you plug it in, slice veggies super thin (i use a mandolin--cheapo one from target) put them on the racks and leave them there. I check on them ever few hours or so. I made zuchinni chips last week, i tossed them in a LITTLE olive oil and salt and omg delish (they were full of water so they shrunk quite a bit). I am making fruit leather this weekend and sweet potato chips for the bf. I'm still experimenting myself! For 20 bucks, i'm already satisfied with my purchase.

also there is a pretty long thread on the board with tons of ideas, as well as a lot of "raw" recipes online with great ideas.
Aldi's does not have the dehydrator this week I guess I will look around and see who else has them and for what price. I have some 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond coupons as well as the Kohl's ad. I will do some digging around!! Again, thanks for the review!!!

I am a newbie to HCG and the protocol. I am a long-time low-carber and was very successful with it back in 2003, with the help of a little phentermine. As with many of us, most of the weight came back when I went back to "eating normally."

Since then I have gone back to low-carb (Atkins/Atkins 72) a few times and have dropped some, but keep hitting the same damn plateau that I just can't seem to get away from. I started back most recently in early Feb, lost about 16 lbs, and have been going back and forth with the same few pounds since then -- so frustrating. Even staying on induction and doing a fat fast didn't get me off of it. I refuse to take pills again, so I really hope this gets me where I need to go.

So a friend I know has been doing this and has been successful w/ it. She actually wasn't very strict (said she had more than the allotted grams of protein much of the time and just cannot give up having some vodka w/ diet Sprite). So, I figured if I really stick to it I should do OK even coming off of Atkins for so long.

My neighbor started a couple of weeks ago, but she has a lot more weight to lose and will most likely need more than a couple of rounds. I actually read "Pound and Inches" word-for-word, and when she said she was going to just stay on P2, I warned her that it is really important to let her body establish a new "setpoint" in between rounds of the VLC phases.

So, anyway, I started dosing on Sunday (actually went off Atkins on Friday because of stuff that was going on and taking the kids to a waterpark, etc) and loaded for two days. Started VLCD on Tuesday, so today is day 3. I did not weigh before I started the loading, but weighed in on Tuesday morning. I definitely gained some from the load, but not sure exactly how much.

VLCD2 I was down 2.4 and today I was down another 3.2. I am sure that a lot of that is water from "carbing up," but I think that I am off to a good start.

I am not really eating the melba/grotisini, as I think I just do not handle flour-based food well at all. And I am not having much of the fruit.

I am peri-menopausal, so TOM could be whenever and I cannot plan around it. So hopefully it will not arrive until P3. I have not yet decided how long to do this P2 -- at least 23d, but I will see how I progress over the next few weeks before I decide.

It took me two days to read through this thread to this point -- boy, is this an active group!!

I think a Simeons HCG protocol STICKY for FAQ's would be a good idea. What do you guys think?
