The protocol is free for a reason. Dr. S didn't try to profit from his own study.

Do you think that's enough? SHOULD I try to eat more carbs? I do want to be able to eat them without gaining, so how can I incorporate them carefully??
I have seen this done a couple different ways. You could try this: incorporate your starches/sugars earlier in the day so your body has the time to burn them off. I have seen so many on the yahoo groups incorporate Ezekial or Julian bread (some type of low carb or whole wheat bread) at breakfast. Then you can ask yourself....what am I missing? Is there something I want to incorporate back in...like tortillas, potatoes, fried chicken and try it!!! See how your body reacts. I have a post I saved from a while back I will share. It is how one person was able to incorporate these foods back in. I will share in the next post so as not to make this one seem so long!!

Again, I copied and pasted this for my own info. It is not my post!!! I thought it was great for starting up P4 and wanted to save so I can share with other hcgres. My hope was to pass along some tips for starting P4. I have not followed this advice yet, but hope to when I start P4 next week. I so want to incorporate some kinds of carbs back into my life--that was my goal with this whole protocol....to be able to eat carbs again!! Maybe this should be posted in the P3 thread too--or maybe the recipe sticky. Somewhere so it won't get lost. Hmmmmm........Enjoy!!!

************************************************** ******

D?j? vu or what? I started this thread at the urging of others to share some things I have learned while I am in P4, before returning for another round. I did so and unfortunately the two days of lost posts we experienced on the forum included mine. I was asked again to try to recreate the post, so here it is best to my recollection. I am no expert, but my trial and error approach has kept me with 2 lbs of my LSLW for the most part, the couple times I jumped to 3.5 lbs over, I was able to do an egg day and have it back in check within a day or two.
1. Water is my best friend.
2. P4 is an extension of P3, don't stray too far from what you have learned
3. Easy does it, add additional items slowly
4. My new motto, actually my new mantra is "The scale decides what I will eat today". If I am down within my 2 lb wiggle room I will venture out and try new foods, if I am up only 1 lb, I will do the same, if I am under 2 lbs LSLW I will do a day of P3 style eating which will bring me down a pound or so. This is NOT dieting, it is more of a push on proper protein, veggi's and fruit while CONTROLLING my starches and sugars. By the next day I can venture out and try something new again
5. I seam to try starches and sugars every other day, returning to P3 in between.
6. It gets easier the farther out you get, so don't get too anxious to try too much too soon. The key is a clean P3 to reset your system, I guarantee it makes P4 easier, so no cheating in P3!
7. Foods that work for me (but may or may not for you) All meats and condiments, all veggi's, fruits (go easy on bananas though) mixed nuts, cottage cheese, cheese, heavy whipping cream or 1/2 & 1/2 or milk, eggs, lettuce wraps, any style ranch dip for my raw broccoli, a tortilla or wrap once in a while, just a bite or two of potatoes in the beginning, get a taste, not a serving. Tofu pasta noodles (surprisingly good, rinse well!) and spaghetti sauce with meat balls. Salads, avocado, berries with whipped cream, all coffee style drinks made with Splenda, breaded hot wings, fried chicken. There is plenty of extras to add once you get out of P3 to keep you happy without abandoning it all together, if you are going to indulge, add something that is allowed that is new to you without throwing it all to the wind
8. The idea here is to experiment, bend but don't break. I try new stuff, then return to P3 a day to adjust, the every other day approach for one meal a day experimentation has worked well for me, but I know where to return if my scale goes up over the 2 lb mark.
9. I turned a corner this week in P4, I am almost at the 8 week mark of being in P4. My every other day of adding starches and sugars has stabilized and I ate some stuff this past week that would have caused me to gain before this. I can now eat starches and sugars daily at one meal a day without change to the scale! I had some definite previous no-no's but did ok, I think because my breakfast and lunch are P3 style eating and I save anything with sugars and starches for once a day only, usually at dinner. It is getting easier and takes less thought now, I want to stress I have learned a new healthy style of eating, so the sugars and starches are within ratio of a proper balanced diet. And yes, I did have some things that surprisingly did not make me gain, I was amazed the two donuts never even registered on the scale. I still will go light a day after being naughty the previous, even though the scale is still showing no gain. I NEVER want to get back to "a run away freight train" style of eating again!
10. I remember why I started all this, to get healthy, not skinny. My motivation is not how I look, but if I am eating healthy enough to be around to enjoy more hugs and more time spent with my kids. The new me is nice, don't get me wrong, I like the way I look, but the proper motivation helps me think about everything I eat. I am confident what I have learned on Dr. S's protocol will allow me to maintain for life!

Yeah---that is why I went with the homeopathic. I wanted cheap and did the research (visiting many different forums on the hcg) to make sure it would work! And the hhcg works just as well as the pricy stuff. You will not be sorry!!

Yikes. I have ordered too and am waiting impatiently for them to arrive. Hopefully tomorrow.

I'm going to re-read the protocol today. I don't have a good grasp of it yet. Please Lord, let me be able to do this thing. I am miserable and at the throwing-in-the-towel stage.

Starting VLCD3 and down 1.5 this morning. Started TOM though and I'm pretty miserable. Total loss of 5.5 lbs in the first two low cal days. Definitely happy with that! I was retaining a lot of water so I feel much better after getting rid of some.

Okay, but people should be aware of his criminal history.

There are 92 pages of complaints against him at the consumer affairs site: Kevin Trudeau.

Here is what Wikipedia says about him:

Trudeau has been embroiled in a number of civil suits and was convicted in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. He was convicted of larceny and credit card fraud in the early 1990s, and in 1998 paid a $500,000 fine for making false or misleading claims in his infomercials. In 2004 he agreed to a lifetime ban on promoting products via infomercials, excluding his books.......

In August 2005, the New York Consumer Protection Board warned consumers that Trudeau has used false claims of endorsements to promote his products, noting that the back cover of Natural Cures includes false endorsements. Further, the NYCPB states that Trudeau's television ads “give the false impression that Tammy Faye Messner opposes chemotherapy in favor of the ‘natural cures’ in Trudeau’s book.” A representative for Messner before her death from cancer said that was not true and that she was starting chemotherapy again.

The back cover includes the following quote from Dr. Herbert Ley, a former commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration who died three years before the book was written: "The thing that bugs me is that people think the FDA is protecting them. It isn't. What the FDA is doing and what people think it's doing are as different as night and day."

I've been following this thread for a while and I've finally decided to take the plunge. I just finished 2 loading days and today is day 1 of vlcd. The loading days were tougher than I thought they would be; when I ate a lot, it made me a bit nauseous. Today I woke up not hungry at all.I weighed in at 199.4 this morning. I didn't weigh myself for the past week though. I do know that I weighed about 203 two weeks ago. Used all oil free face products this morning. I thought I'd following the guidelines strictly for now. Stocked the fridge with very low fat meats and suggested veggies/fruit...so I'm ready to go!!

Quick question though...this coming Saturday I'm taking my son to an amusement park and I was wondering if anyone else on here has done the same on this diet? I'm going to research to see if outside food it allowed. If not..not sure what to do.

when we go out on P2 we usually order an 8 oz steak plain and lettuce on the side immediately cut the steak in half and only eat half

IDK about an amusement park i don't think there would be ANYTHING on protocol there

I will be taking my son out to Six Flags later this month but as far as I know, they won't have anything P2 safe unless, like Deb said, they have steak and salad but ask how them to prepare the steak with no oils or butter.

@ the six flags in Dallas you can take a cooler in but you have to pay a "cooler" charge
what we did was leave our cooler in the car and take a "lunch break" go back to the car eat and rest for a while. we stayed from opening 10 am- til closing and fireworks @ 12pm

I released 2.0 pounds today! YAY!!!! Officially into the 180s I think my small number yesterday was from way too much water the day before (which has happened to a number of other ppl I have talked to on youtube and fb).

For all those considering the protocol-----if you are REALLY hungry and feeling crappy the first few days, STICK IT OUT! Your hunger will go away like mine did in the middle of the afternoon yesterday!

I am down 4.6 pounds in 3 VLCDs and it would have taken me A MONTH to get those off with low carb alone! SO EXCITED!!!

Awesome releases to you too Hay!

And thanks Deb You are such a positive support!!

As for the fruits/veggies/protein----I have been doing different fruits and veggies each day, but mostly chicken for the protein. I had beef two nights ago and had my tiny loss the next day...I'll have to test it out again to see if there is a correlation. I have been doing apples, grapefruit, and strawberries for fruit, and romaine, cucumbers, celery, and radishes for veggies. HTH

ETA - not mixing the veggies of course!!

Mmmm that sounds yummy! I have some in my fridge, maybe I'll roast it up for dinner!

On another note, TOM just ended literally the day I started, but I am kinda feeling like he might be coming back I have heard this happens sometimes, but it would be so weird! I have only had 2 TOMs in the last 15 months bc of the PCOS and if he comes back I would have to say this hCG really is a miracle!!!

Your information is not valid or true. Anyone who stands up against the FDA, FTC, Big Pharma, etc., is going to be lightening rod for harrassment, lawsuits, slander, or worse. He has had all this against him and still fights on. I say thank God for KT and his work against the powers that want to choke and kill us and drug us to death for profit!

Now, can we just let this go and let folks decide for themselves about it, please?

Great job ladies! You're doing awesome!

I'm still maintaining right at LDW. It's a relief, too. I phased into P3 just 6 days before TOM was due, and sure enough, right on schedule, day 7 marks the arrival of TOM. I was worried I might have a problem with water retention or something, but my weight has stayed the same. I have been sooooo bloated though, all the last 3 days my stomach has been just sticking out like I'm constipated (I'm not)! I hope it was just pre-TOM hormones, because I really hate being bloated.

I've been trying to be very careful about what I eat. I've only had small amounts of dairy, just tried eggs for the first time this morning, had 1/4 cup almonds the other day, almond butter once... No problems so far. The only day I had a big jump (1.4 pounds) I'm pretty sure it was a combination of eating my dinner at 7:30 and hormones. It bumped me up to my LDW and I've stayed there since. Hmm, I wonder if I'll drop back down a bit after TOM leaves? Today I"m going to try eggplant, oh I love eggplant so much!

I'm just glad you're feeling better! It's totally stinky when you start feeling lousy, it's hard enough to stay strong when you feel good!

Now, can we just let this go and let folks decide for themselves about it, please?
It's not MY information - I told you what was stated in Wikipedia. I didn't make up the 92 pages of complaints by CONSUMERS who have been ripped off over and over for buying his books. His criminal record is PUBLIC record, anyone can look it up.

Anyone who posts asking about KT and thinks KT is an authority on Dr. S's protocol, I will post ALL of KT's criminal background and complaints against him in response.
