I'm thinking of giving this a try. I read "Pounds and Inches" last night and maybe someone can explain a few things to me:

-- Why stop the treatment during menstruation? Doesn't this make you extra hungry?

-- Is it really critical to stop taking vitamins?

-- To stop using any topical lotions, oils, cosmetics?

-- About how much is 100 grams of lean raw protein? What is this in ounces? What kind of scale works well?

Thanks! I'll probably have more questions later.

Would anyone have an idea as to why I get so lightheaded and dizzy on hhcg? Or why I get such terrible upper back/shoulder pain that goes away if I stop taking it? I tried searching but can't find any answers on the internet. Should I take supplements?

I am doing really well, I think a little too well. I'm already down 21lbs my weight loss has not slowed down, the least I've lost is 1.4lbs several days ago.
But last week you said you had stalled for 3 days and were ready to do an apple day, right? Did you do an apple day to kick start the weight loss again?

The same weight 3 days in a row after many days of losing 3-4lbs daily...I guess that can be considured The Plateau right? I have my apples and am ready to see the scale move again. Happy with my results to date and am not discouraged at all!
Either way I think you're doing great and I wouldn't let the weight loss stress you out. It will even out and I doubt you'll have any problem stabilizing since I know you'll follow P&I when you're in p3 and p4

Maybe you should read it again!! The answers are there!! The stopping of hcg during TOM is because the hcg is naturally released in your body at that time. No need for any extra!! Anyhow, some do stop some don't. It is up to you. And if you do stop, you will not be hungry, or that is the theory. Everyone is different though. The hhcg stays in your system for at least 48 hours. For the vitamins--you HAVE to stop taking ANY and ALL oil based vitamins. Simple as you won't die in 21 days without a mulit--at least that is my feeling And yes, I stopped all lotions on my first round. No oils in P2!!! That is a very strict rule--only mineral oil is allowed. Fortunately there are oil free products on the market now. All of this information can be found on the last few pages of this thread---I suggest you do a bit of research as all these questions are quite common and already answered, several times!!! The 100 grams is 3.5 oz weighed before cooking. And yes, you need a kitchen scale as well as a good bathroom scale!!

I thought it was discovered that the Dr. was wrong about hcg being released during TOM? Anyhow, I don't plan on stopping during TOM.

WTG all you losers I'm off to Reno again, G-ma is keeping the kids for 2.5 days so I can get some work done. Then we are taking them to Magic Mountain on Saturday. This should be interesting, LOL.

I have released another 1lb for a total of 20lbs in 20 days I looked over my journal and it seems that once I lose a pound I keep it for a day and then lose 1/2 and then nothing and then another pound again, LOL. This protocol is awesome!!!

Questions - Can we have beans on ph3, and what about corn, I know its a starchy veggie, but not really a starch?

And no need not to!! I am not quite sure why he stated that, just rewriting what I have heard on other boards. I am sure any other reason is just as good. Who knows what was on the good doctor's mind??? I just wish he were to around to "modernize" things!!

And I have stated before that I have done it both ways. The one time I did stop during TOM, I did that round hungry. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but I have not stopped dropping the Hhcg during TOM since!!! LOL.

NO BEANS AND NO CORN!!! They are both starches. You have to wait until P4 for them.

Congrats on the awesome loss Reno!!!!!

Have fun at magic mountain!

I didn't do beans or corn on p3, but I'm not sure if it's allowed or not. I just didn't use them because I followed my normal low carb diet while I was on p3. I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable girls will have a better answer for you.

Thanks, I was doing South Beach and could have beans. I have not done Atkins in years, but it sounds like that's the way to go for Ph3

For those who wanted a P3 ice cream you can find the recipe/recipes here:

Question About Making Ice Cream

I got an ice cream maker last year for my birthday just so I could make a sugar free P3 compliant ice cream. Have not even made it yet!! But will be making it this weekend, for sure. After my "vacation weight" is gone!!

Yep, I've had a stall, but my loss days have been 3lbs and over for the most part, I've had a couple 4.4s, so yes, this is even with TOM and the stall, and no I did not do the apple day as I had the loss that very next morning. I'm telling you, my losses have been odd...my dh has commented, I'm already getting comments at work, I see it most in my face, waist and hands, but apparently it is all over (my sister commented on the rolls on my back).

I did consider that it might be my scale (which is a WW scale that I purchased about two months ago) so I changed the batteries, no change in the weight. I'm not exercising (which I wanted to start this week but have not, I think I will save it for P3) I am not weak, I'm sleeping well (did not the first few days) oh, I'm in clothing that I never thought I would be in until the end of summer.

I'm not complaining, just hoping I'm not hurting myself and will be able to finish. I love hhcg, I wiish I'd known about it years ago!

I read on another board about a guy that lost 47lbs his first round...he only did the short round...but that is a man, they tend to lose quicker. I've only had one day that I've lost under 2lbs.

What's on your menu for today? I'm being cautiously creative

100 gm. Cod filet in a foil pack with italian seasoning blend, steamed spinach with garlic, sliced tomato wtih seasalt and ground pepper, bread stick.

100 gm. beef kebab with greek seasoning, cabbage sauteed with a splash of vinegar, garlic and seasalt, apple slices, bread stick.

I was getting scale obsessed so I'm not weighing again until the weekend. I bought a toaster oven over the weekend to make easy meals (Plus, since I am saving so much on groceries, it's nice to put that money into making this a simple plan)
I made lemon icecubes yesterday. I sliced a lemon very thin and put them in the tray and added my water. Makes my water look pretty

Thanks for the TOM perspectives. If HCG is only found in pregnant women, I didn't think it would appear during menstruation. Plus I'm always hungry before and during TOM.

What about non-oil based vitamins or supplements? I thought I read that a few people were taking extra potassium for example.

If you can not find melba toast, can you eat crackers or eliminate the melba altogether and add more cucumbers maybe?

Edited to add: Also if you want have no intention of add carbs back into your diet, can you continue to eat like P3 during P4, and then do another round of HCG or even possibly go back to Atkins? I just feel better eating low carb and not plan on eating too many carbs, maybe only special occasions.

I am taking potassium and B-Complex. Just read the ingredients to be sure there is nothing added in that you can't have.

I skip it altogether because I can't have gluten. Believe me, it's plenty easy to increase the cals with veggies! Just increase the veggies you are already eating for that meal. It won;'t be much - I think melba toast is 45 cals.

Hey ladies! WOW MutantMom, your losses are truly FANTASTIC!!! Reno, you are doing so well too, I am just so happy for you guys!!!

Hi to all the newbies! You will love it here, this board and these ladies are amazing

As for me, another +0.1 today, although I think TOM is coming and is to blame. In other news, I enjoyed my black coffee for the first time this morning! I am a major cream lover so it was a big adjustment and I didn't have coffee at all for the first two weeks, but it was good this morning (although I REALLY needed it, hah!) with chocolate stevia, mmm
