OMG i ate half a cheesecake yesterday and the biggest chocolate milkshake i ever had plus they had free doughnuts at my DS15s miniplay they put on at the farmers market i had ONE cause i sure don't want the carb withdrawals this week but i did have one, trying to take some of my measurements today! ![]()

question -- how do i know if my drops are good? i am on day 1 today (after 2 days of gorging) and i think i am feeling hungry. i just weighed myself and it is much higher than before those 2 days...is this normal? i just noticed above that people actually lost some weight on those 2 days.

Starting VLCD2 and down 4 lbs!! I was so thankful for the low cal day because those loading days are GROSS. I thought I would enjoy them, but I was miserable.
No real hunger issues. Had two awesome meals from the recipe thread (chili and shrimp/celery/apple salad). I could eat those forever! Very yummy. |

Do you guys measure on ketostix when on P2? If so, do your ketones register? I am seeing trace amounts, but definitely not what I would expect to see if my body was releasing 1,500 calories worth of fat!
Just feeling a little leary because I have still been hungry and kind of in a daze with fuzzy brain the last two days since I've been doing VLCD and today I only dropped 0.1? I am definitely sticking to it and know it might take a few days to get adjusted...I may also up my dosage...thoughts??

For those doing injections, is your dosage 125 iu or 175 ?
I am seeing a lot of variety in dosages. I know Simeons advocated 125 but wondering if the 175 is the KT variation? Or what are clinics doing? Still set to start loading on Thursday. |

I dropped really good the first 4 days of vlcd, so I'm not sure why you didn't have a bigger drop, unless there was something in what you ate? Are you using any prepared spice combos? Those are notorious for having sugar/starch in them. I was shocked to find my Lawry's seasoning salt had both! Are you taking potassium and b-12? I got super dizzy 1 1/2 weeks into P2 and couldn't kick it. I then started taking 200mg of potassium with lunch and another 200mg with dinner, also I got a good b complex and took it once or twice a day as well. I'm hoping someone else who's more knowledgeable answers you too, because I've only done one round of P2, and am still learning so much. HTH Keep it up though. OH! Are you drinking tons of water? I drink 3-4 quarts a day, every day! It's super important to flush out the fat you're burning.... |

Thanks hcground1
I am thinking because I didn't load on any carbs at all and actually lost loading, I didn't have any "water weight" to lose from that so that could be why? I am also suspicious of the other supplements I take (Dr. prescribed) because two are oils (fish and evening primrose) and the St. John's Wort definitely has a sugary outer shell because it tastes sweet when I go to swallow it. I am thinking of kicking the oils for now, but I would need to taper off of the St. John's Wort. Any advice is greatly appreciated though! I am feeling a lot better after having done my hcg for the morning and having some tea and an apple. |

debkeversole-thanks for the welcome back and the info about Ashlinmartini!
I weighed in this morning at 178.4...so that means that I only lost .4 since yesterday...but I have to remind myself that a loss of any amount is still better than a gain! Every little bit helps! Am I the only one who feels a little nostalgic over the 4th of July feast that everyone else gets to enjoy...except us?! I won't even list my families typical menu...it's too much like food porn! I guess I will have some P2 friendly chili w/grissini and maybe a strawberry, splenda and ice smoothie for dessert! What is everyone else having? Happy 4th Everyone...God Bless America!

My kids are allergic to gluten, dairy, and eggs. So we're not going to the 4th of July party we were invited to, nothing they could eat there, at all, and it would be torture to them. Plus, my DH is working a 24 hour shift and I'm not comfortable lighting off those big fire works (too much forest, and they're just too loud), so they have to wait till Dad gets home tomorrow night to light off their fireworks. The only 4th-ish type food they can have is hot dogs, and I'm going to make them some (with gf buns) but I don't even like those. So, you're not alone, even my kids aren't enjoying the food this year! |

I ordered the drops and as I am waiting for them to arrive I am reading P&I. I need something that works! Is it possible to do the protocol if I don't eat any fish or seafood? I know beef and chicken are acceptable, but can I switch between the two? I've tried to like fish and seafood, but I don't like the taste at all. Also, is anyone doing moderate exercise while doing this? I am doing couch to 5k (slowly, repeating weeks) and I wouldn't call it vigorous exercise, but it is running a bit.

![]() ![]() wanted to tell you Marble just passed to Rainbow bridge a few minutes ago if you are already doing the exercise continue don't increase it or start something new while dosing if you get weak dizzy etc HALVE your exercise until you find a spot you are comfortable at it is only for 3 weeks and as others have said we can get through 3 weks!(you can do more if you feel like it just start out thinking "it is only 3 weeks" some people only eat beef or chicken so i think you would be fine there |

Oh Deb, I am so sorry!
![]() ![]() I can't believe the loss you've been through. ![]() Maybe I'll finish my week 5 of C25k and then either re-do week 4, or walk it. I've been doing it much slower than intended, and I had to take some time off when I cut my hand and ended up in the hospital. I am really enjoying running and on Fri I ran 20 minutes without stopping. |

My goodness! What an active bunch!
I did a very fast read (grilling chicken) and I have to say the drops are peaking my interest. You ladies are doing so great! I got a promotion and needed to add to my wardrobe so I went to Macy's. I have dropped 3 sizes! ![]() |

Boy my willpower has been great with the HCG this weekend. I've been hosting family this holiday and making the yummiest of stuff for them to eat and have been able to stay to protocol. It helps that I know that if I cheat I will not only have a set back, but that I'll gain weight. But have been rewarded with 8.8 lb loss since loading on VLCD8, 6.6 lbs of weight if I count before loading. Not sure which number to use. Happy 4th everyone!

I've been making a really good P2 dish the last couple of days, cooking 94% lean ground beef, shredded cabbage in a frying pan with a little pepper, garlic, and apple cider vinegar till the cabbage is tender....yum!!

That sounds like the dish they call "Crack Slaw" in the Low carb recipes. Yeah, it's great! I forgot all about it too, and it's totally ok for P2! YES!!

Oh, I am so glad to see that July is off to a great start for y'all!! Happy 4th of July to my hcg peeps!!!! I have a scared dog right now--the fireworks are making him shake something terrible. But the show on TV is incredible and beautiful. I have been incredibly busy this last week so I am sorry I have not posted at all. Thanks to deb for stepping in and posting about that shake day. I had one just last week and loved it--got down 2.2 pounds.
I have added back my regular exercise routine this week and it has made my weight creep up to what I don't want to see on the scale. However I am fitting into my clothing just the same and am sure that it is just water I am retaining as my muscles are sore from the weights I have been using. So, I am plugging along on P3 just eating really well and following the rules of "no starch and no sugar" and will see where this lands me weight wise at the end of the week. I can really feel it in my abs and arms--they are so sore!!! But feels so good to get back to it. I missed it so much LOL. I am wishing for good scale days to us all this week!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, DoxieLove (and other familiar names/faces!). I can relate! I keep coming back to this thread to read becuase it is so FRIENDLY! I'd post but I only have advice about how NOT to do the protocol. I can't seem to stabilize. We need to keep telling ourselves that we haven't failed until we give up!

R1P4D3 now. I've had a very few carbs; honestly can't bring myself to want more than that!
I was at a party earlier and instinctively pushed the bun off of my burger. I had a couple chips, a bite each of potato and pasta salad, a spoonful of a ridiculously GOOD salted butterscotch sauce that I made, and a few small spoons of ice cream. Do you think that's enough? SHOULD I try to eat more carbs? I do want to be able to eat them without gaining, so how can I incorporate them carefully?? |
