How long does everyone hold the drops under their tongue? My bottle doesn't say, just the number of drops and how many times a day.

Well, I did all the 'right' stuff in the beginning and by the book too, but later found out a lot of it was tweakable and not THAT important. BUT if you DO find you're having problems with anything you change or tweak, then by all means go back to basics. Some are very by the book and others, like me, are a bit on the rogue side! Hehe

Hey glad to have you here! This is a terrific group...and I know you'll just add to that!!

Thanks for the mustard info sela and gracie!!! I just didn't realize I could have that. My mind is completely different regarding my chicken tenders now lol!!

Congrats Reno!!! That's an awesome loss for the first day!!! Wow!

I think someone was asking about scales... I got mine at target and it's a weight watchers scale. It weighs by the .1 and it was 24.99. I don't know if that's cheap or not since I've had my other scales for 10 years or more....

I hope you all have a great 4th !!

Just got my drop, but I have a load question...

I just received my drop but I have a question about loading. I have been low carbing for 4 days and I feel great. According to my ****** I have been averaging 1700 calories and about 130 g fat, with such high numbers do I need to do the loading days or can I just start the vlcd?

So I'm not looking at my calendar but I'm somewhere around D21 of P3 and am + 2.6 from my LDW (147.8). I hate when the scale jumps into the 50's - I'm 150.4 today. There's a couple of reasons I'm up: I don't do well with a lot of milk or cream so I bought a jug of lactose free milk and was using that with frozen blueberries or strawberries and stevia to make "ice cream". I have had major painful bloat because for some reason I didn't catch on right away what was causing my problem (TOM was here too). I didn't think it was the lactose-free milk because it wasn't supposed to hurt my tummy like regular milk. Lesson learned. Sorta -- a few days after starting w/ the lactose-free I bought a little thing of heavy whipped cream to use in my coffee instead of mocha mix. OUCH! So, I had both dairy products giving me fits all week and I think I'm on the tail end (haha) of having that in my system. It's back to Mocha Mix for me.

But really, I do enjoy eating this way - lots of fat and protein (I feel so full and satisfied all the time) and boy is it yummy! Especially the blueberry ice cream... MMmmm

I'm thinking I have a wheat sensitivity because I breathe much clearer since starting this round (and I didn't do the Melba or Grassini) so I'm not anxious to add that back into my WOE anyway. I do miss tortilla chips though...

Have a great holiday weekend everyone - stay safe - and remember a momentary indulgence is NOT worth the days of regret and gains.

What is your typical menu ? You really need to load unless you want to risk feeling hungry. Loading is an important part of the protocol.

Thanks for the response. I think I am going to do like Hay did and load for one day maybe two at the most. I just didn't want to have that many carbs or to start getting cravings again. I have lost 5 pounds in three days on LC, but I am looking to losing lots more with HCG.

Trust me, you won't have any cravings for carbs when the hcg starts working. It is best not to tweak it your first time. When things don't work out, the first thing people say is how it didn't work for them, when they didn't follow the protocol in the first place.

RENO - AMAZING first day loss!! I can only hope to be like you in the morning!

As for me, today was VLCD1 and I was definitely hungry. I'm pretty sure the hcg is starting to work because I think ordinarily I would have been hungrier if I just ate what I did today, but I did feel pretty funky. I was also coming off not much sleep the last two nights. How long did everyone's P2 "flu" go on?

Also, tried really loading but the fat was self limiting so I am afraid I maybe didn't get in enough...actually lost 0.2 lb over the two loading days...

That's an unfortunate feeling when you don't load enough. People here urge you to eat more, even when you feel stuffed, because loading is so important. Feeling hungry can make you want to give up and quit. Hopefully that feeling won't last long for you.

really doesn't matter if you have been low carbing or not Dr. S did not say Gorge before loss only exception low carbers! honestly EVERYONE needs to load for 2 days at least and you do not have to increase your carbs just if it is something you will miss people who don't load properly WILL feel hunger it has happened over and over

Gain before Loss

Patients whose general condition is low, owing to excessive previous dieting, must eat to capacity for about one week before starting treatment, regardless of how much weight they may gain in the process. One cannot keep a patient comfortably on 500 Calories unless his normal fat reserves are reasonably well stocked. It is for this reason also that every case, even those that are actually gaining must eat to capacity of the most fattening food they can get down until they have had the third injection. It is a fundamental mistake to put a patient on 500 Calories as soon as the injections are started, as it seems to take about three injections before abnormally deposited fat begins to circulate and thus become available.

We distinguish between the first three injections, which we call “non-effective” as far as the loss of weight is concerned, and the subsequent injections given while the patient is dieting, which we call “effective”. The average loss of weight is calculated on the number of effective injections and from the weight reached on the day of the third injection which may be well above what it was two days earlier when the first injection was given.

Most patients who have been struggling with diets for years and know how rapidly they gain if they let themselves go are very hard to convince of the absolute necessity of gorging for at least two days, and yet this must he insisted upon categorically if the further course of treatment is to run smoothly. Those patients who have to be put on forced feeding for a week before starting the injections usually gain weight rapidly - four to six pounds in 24 hours is not unusual - but after a day or two this rapid gain generally levels off. In any case, the whole gain is usually lost in the first 48 hours of dieting. It is necessary to proceed in this manner because the gain re-stocks the depleted normal reserves, whereas the subsequent loss is from the abnormal deposits only.

Patients in a satisfactory general condition and those who have not just previously restricted their diet start forced feeding on the day of the first injection. Some patents say that they can no longer overeat because their stomach has shrunk after years of restrictions. While we know that no stomach ever shrinks, we compromise by insisting that they eat frequently of highly concentrated foods such as milk chocolate, pastries with whipped cream sugar, fried meats (particularly pork), eggs and bacon, mayonnaise, bread with thick butter and jam, etc. The time and trouble spent on pressing this point upon incredulous or reluctant patients is always amply rewarded afterwards by the complete absence of those difficulties which patients who have disregarded these instructions are liable to experience.

During the two days of forced feeding from the first to the third injection - many patients are surprised that contrary to their previous experience they do not gain weight and some even lose. The explanation is that in these cases there is a compensatory flow of urine, which drains excessive water from the body. To some extent this seems to be a direct action of HCG, but it may also be due to a higher protein intake, as we know that a protein-deficient diet makes the body retain water.

To .1, I already tested it with my son and it was correct. He weighed 55 on my old scale, and 54.6 on the new one. I was so afraid it would weigh a lot more than my old one, so YAY!

You don't have to load w/ carbs, it's best to load on tons of good fats like avacados, eggs, bacon, coconut oil, etc.... I'm planning on doing 2 load days sugar free, starting next week.

Have you ever tried goat's milk? Almond milk? Coconut milk? Maybe taking digestive enzymes? Probiotics? Milk kefir?

I've been taking acidopholis thinking that would do the trick but apparently not. Great suggestion - I think I'll do some probiotics.

Yea I just don't know! I mean I literally would have thrown up if I had eaten anymore yesterday and I probably hit about 2,500 cals. Heading to bed soon and hoping for less hunger tomorrow. It wasn't unbearable, but I did feel a little fuzzy. I'm hoping it won't last long too because I am not planning on giving up!
