The idea that you have to lose slow in order to learn how to eat at a lower weight.

What do you think about that? Do you belive that? Do you think that when you get to your goal weight via HCG , that you are gonna blow it because you don't know how to eat?
Slow or fast or faster I already know how to eat healthy and eat right, but doing it every day is the problem. I don't think it matters how slow or fast you lose the weight in that regard. I've been on one diet or another for over 40 years but I still enjoy eating certain foods that are not healthy or have the potential to cause weight gain. Once this weight is gone, I will have to keep a daily 'watch' on myself and my weight to keep it off.

Riotgirl,

If you have been hungry during all this time I think your drops are no good. I am so sorry that happened to you. I would not give the other bottle 10 days to work. You will know right away if it's working. I switched to a different brand and on my first day of loading, I was full after one of my formally "normal" meals.

I just got home but had to stop at the market first to pick up what I had been craving.

Red grapefruit and blackberries.

I am one wild and crazy chick.

p.s. I've eaten blackberries and had no problem losing on them. They have an even better nutritional profile than strawberries, so I don't see an issue.

i am pretty sure that is what the breaks for P3 and P4 were designed for! to also teach us how to eat normally while still maintaining our weight R4P3D7 and i am still 290.4 .8 below my LDW been right there within range since my LDW (10 days!) not hungry not craving satisfied with regular portions which for me is unbelievable!! while i might not understand why or how all the thing Dr. S. wrote in this it works if followed as closely as possible like i said over use of the word amaze but i am AMAZED everyday at this

Agreed. That's where simeons plan is superior to many others, in that he specifies very clearly what we need to do to maintain our weight loss.

After reading a few hhcg websites I noticed a difference in how long each one tells you to hold the hhcg under your tongue. For instance, mine says hold under tongue for 30 seconds then swallow. Nothing by mouth 15m before or 15m after. Now I have always done 30m before and after but for the first few weeks I had held the hhcg under my tongue for 30 seconds...until this week. I've started holding it for 2 minutes like another web site instructs and I have to say their really has been a difference for me. For instance, every day for the past 5 days I have woke up to a 1.5 or 1.2 loss and today I lost 2.2lbs!!! My eating plan hasnt been altered and I'm on day 30 something and TOM has been gone for weeks now so I know its not that woosh.

Anyone else experience this?

Down another 0.8lbs this morning. TOM still hasn't shown up. Can anyone tell me why we are to discontinue the drops during TOM? I think I read somewhere that it was because Dr. S thought that we produce HCG during TOM but that it has since been proven that we don't. Does anyone just continue to take drops during TOM?

Been wondering that also. I've been following the 15 minute rule. I'm game to add some time to holding it under my tongue.

I am so irregular any more I don't know when to expect mine. I was on P2vlcd4 when I started. I was just getting over the detox headache and not feeling hungry so I wasn't about stop them at that point.

Calli - I'm interested to hearing about your experience with the Baja Bob's so come back and report.

I'm happy to be here on vlcd6 with 7 pounds gone!

Thanks everyone. I think I'm just going to keep taking them. My naturopath adds thyroid, adrenal, and blood sugar support to her blend and I really don't want to go without those boosters for even a day.

It was very very good! Not as good as my homemade ones with sour mix, gold tequilla and orange Patrone...but it sufficed!! The next day I was up .8lbs but I am pretty sure it is because I added a bit of tequilla and I had alot of salt on my glass but the day after that I was back down. If you look up a few posts on this page you will see where I posted the nutritional data for just the mix.

Calli - glad to see you liked it, even if you had a little tequila in it! Yum!

Survived my first weekend doing vlc. Was concerned about the lack of structure that I get from work would cause me to lose control. Did really well. Held the hcg for 2 minutes like Calli suggested and was down 1.5# more this morning. A repeat today would give me the elusive 10# week No matter - I'm thrill to be where I am. I can already feel the difference.

Deb - I'm so proud of how much you've lost. To put it in perspective, I buy dog food in 44# bags and I think about how much dog food that would be.

Hi everybody! I started my hcg drops and loading on June 1st, after loading I made my way up to 209.5 I have to say that I am speechless after 4 VLCD's I am down to 197.5! For me this is incredible, I am hypothyroid and it takes me months and months to lose 12 pounds!

I have been reading and reading and reading and I think I pretty much know what I am doing, ( the beauty of this protocol is that it is so strict that I find it easy, kwim)

How do you all handle your social life on this protocol? I did really well this weekend, I had dinner out with friends on Saturday night and I stuck to protocol the best that I could. My sil had a few remarks to make about me not drinking my usual wine, but they all got over it. Then I had a graduation party yesterday and boy was that hard! There was not one item of food that I could eat, so I just drank water and coffee the whole time and came home and made my meal.

I am going to visit a cousin over fathers day weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I will be flying and staying at her house and I am scared to death that there will be nothing that I can eat until I get back on Sunday night!

I am so happy that I came over and started reading the hcg threads! Everyone is doing so great and I am so inspired by all of you! I hope I can have the same kind of success!

Congratulations on your loss so far! I'm hypothyroid also and I've struggled with weight loss so much in the past. On the hcg I've lost almost every single day which just blows my mind! I thought for sure that I'd have slower losses than most people because of my thyroid issues.

Good luck! I'm sure you're going to have great losses!

I think the 11 pounds was purely from the VLC diet alone and now I've hit the starvation mode. From what I've read, if the hhcg was working properly, I would be registering something on the ketostix at least in the morning. And I've seen nada on them. I've lost only one inch, and that was in my hips. Every other measurement I took was the same. Actually, my waist was one inch higher! I've followed the protocol to a T. So I'm calling it a round today, instead of doing 40 days like I originally intended.

I'm wondering if there's any way to tell if the drops were just crap? If they were, then I'd like to order from somewhere else and start all over ASAP. But I know if they were actually "legit" (I don't know what else to call it) then I really should wait and do the detox phase first before doing another round. I'm an instant gratification kinda gal. I don't want to waste another 3 weeks doing the no sugar/ starch if it's not necessary.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Riot Girl ~ It's hard to know exactly what happened - did you write down your menus, lotions, drinks, etc? Were you hungry for those 27 days? I wouldn't worry about the ketostix - I've never even used them during protocol. Plus, you should test the ketostix in the evening I believe and not in the morning. I would honestly think that if the drops weren't working you would've have been absolutely starving, weak, and nearly passing out. My guess would be an issue with your food, lotions, make-up, or drinks. Did you follow protocol or did you tweak it? It's impossible to say what happened unless you logged your foods and how you felt each day. Were you tapping the bottom of your bottle each time you used the drops to activate it?

Down another 0.2lbs this morning. I have been 100% on program and have only lost 9.6 pounds in 17 days. I wonder if my drops are good. I know they contain ZERO HCG, just a digital signature and with each day of continued slow loss I am more and more concerned they are worthless. However, since my hunger is manageable I think there must be "something" to them.

Would the fact that I had lost nearly 20lbs from low carb dieting on my own leading right up to doing HCG cause me to lose slower? You know, since I didn't have a lot of water weight to lose at the start? I mean, I gained 7.5lbs during the 2 day load and lost it back in 2 days.

Just brainstorming.

Still 200.8 on my last day!!

I did lose another half inch off my waist overnight, though. So, over the full protocol, I lost five inches off my waist. I didn't measure anything else. Well, my calves, but they are notorious so only lost an inch there.

My calves are notorious too. Wearing boots the past few winters sucked because I couldn't zip them over my stupid calves. I'm already looking forward to all my long boots that I'll be able to wear again this winter.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll wake up to the scale reading 199 tomorrow morning!

FitMommy ~ Please read my above post to RiotGirl - I think it applies to you as well. Your losses are actually right on cue - they are 0.56#/day so not bad at all. Maybe you could post some menus so we can see if there are any hidden no-no's.

I have great optimism that you will be in onederland tomorrow! Plus you have 3 days of vlcd without hcg for your wiggle room. For some reason those decade numbers are always hard to pass. I think you'll be celebrating onederland very, very soon!
