This morning I am going to make a big 'Happy Father's Day/Happy Birthday' breakfast for my DH and DS. Soon my house will be smelling irresistibly edible... But I am going to stay strong. I am going to resist temptation and 'take one for the hcg team.' I am going to continue with my clean track record of 'no cheats' and maybe just drink a second cup of hot coffee. Then I will be baking a 'Happy Birthday' (requested) batch of cookies, and I will still stay strong.

yes that is why we are suppose to take at minimum 99mg of a potassium supplement 3 x a day now i can't remember where i came across that i think it may have been in Sept or Oct 09s thread but i bought my big bottle of 99 potassium then and made sure i did not run out

also a spoonful of apple cider vinegar hels to i quite often put one spoonful in my water galss and it keeps them at bay and when you are having cramps it honestly relieves them withing 3 minutes

do not be alramed if there is a gooseegg or a gain these next couple of days we know it is the bananas so stay intentional and it will come off in a few

291.2 today on last day of P3 we enter P4 tomorrow but i am taking it very very slow mostly P3 eating may add a fruit or 2 extra here and there

going cycle this time and in 2 weeks Plan (no bad luck and super gains) to go back on P2

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of your Guys! and to you Moms who have to do the role of Dad too!

Fake HHCG?

Well, I'm getting ready to start AGAIN after falling off due to some personal stresses (Dad had an aneurysm, job problems, etc.) and I was surfing around the internet looking at HCG sites. I came across one that says "real" HCG doesn't contain any alcohol, and their drops don't, therefore, they are the only true oral HCG. Any thoughts?

The fact that most of us use something different and still have success would tell me that anyone proclaiming to be the ONLY one is falsely advertising. Besides, if you mix up your own stash, is yours fake ?

Good point - and I did lose well with another brand. It's easy for me to get caught up in wanting to make sure I do it the right way!

Real HCG is the RX Homeopathic has been distilled down look up how homeopathic remedies are made and it will explain it better than i can

ANYONE claiming theirs is the only REAL one is something i would stay away from ..

even when you mix the RX for sublingual use you use part alcohol for better absorption!! i honestly think they are scamming you

Well, so far so good. I still have the whole Birthday desert thing to deal with tonight, but I haven't sampled anything yet, and my DH keeps me strong. I have to admit, today was very hard for me, as I've been in the kitchen a lot today making things for everyone else but me. I even made popcorn this afternoon for the movie we watched! It was a very tough one, but it's almost over. And I only have 15 more days till P3. I know I can do it - I know I can do it - I know I can do it...

Hey, does anyone know if it's ok to have coconut products in P3? I'm referring to coconut milk, unsweetened dried coconut, and coconut flour. I would LOVE it if it's ok to have... I really miss my coconut milk!

I would check the sugar content of the coconut milk. Nut flours are not recommended in P3.

Not all coconut milks are the same. We should all be checking the labels.

This was from a P3 food list someone in this thread shared with me (maybe Deb ?):

Information about starch
Avoiding starch means avoid cornstarch, white flour, wheat flour, any flour, pasta, any bread or bread product, breadsticks, bagels, hamburger and hotdog buns, crackers, tortillas, oatmeal, rice, polenta, peas, corn, lentils, pita bread, pretzels, corn chips, potato chips, yams, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, nearly all root vegetables, any breading on fish, chicken, or other protein., beans, grains, acorn squash, butternut squash, cereals, granola, cereal bars, popcorn, biscuits, corn bread, taco shells, croutons, rice cakes, Cream of Wheat, corn meal, and some nuts.

As we say on the diabetes forum, YMMV (your mileage may vary - try it if you want !).

I wasn't making any inferences as to whether or not to use it.

That information is from the USDA nutritionalal database for coconut milk, so it is average at best.

Brand names differ, check your own labels. this was just for general reference sake for anyone who was curious. I personally dislike coconut except for the oil.

When I shopped for coconut milk in the grocery store, there were varying amounts of added sugar in them so I hope everyone makes sure they check the label of the product they use.

I'd assume people would be buying unsweetened and at least checking the labels. Unless it says unsweetened or sugar free you cannot assume that it is.

I had to special order Almond Breeze cause the store only carried the "regular" kind, which means sweetened. The unsweetened is fewer than half the calories of the regular kind. Same with Soy milk and coconut milk. They put the regular stuff on the shelf but you have to read the labels.

When I post the stats about a food, I'm usually choosing the simplest form of that item so there will be somethng to go by. if the USDA values say for example 3 carbs and your product label says 0 or 10 then you have an instant heads up instead of just taking the product labels word for it, because as you know product labels can round up and down. the USDA database does not. That's why I use them as a reference.

BTW: I'm not in P3, I guess you'd call it P4 or LCmaintenance, but the practice of checking labels and keeping references still applies to any diet.

It's best not to assume everyone does things the way you do. Sometimes I forget to check labels even though I am diabetic and then I am shocked to see what crap is in it. I was looking at the Glucerna diabetic bars today and saw salt was a top ingredient as well as corn starch. Even unmodified corn starch can raise my blood sugar, although some companies will market directly to those who shouldn't have it.

I haven't used this exact recipe yet, but I LOVE my homemade coconut milk ice cream. I can't wait to start replacing sugar with stevia in my baked goods, and in ice cream. I plan on making my own candied ginger (using stevia of course) and making ginger ice cream, it's soooooo good!

You could easily sub the strawberries for another kind of berry, or leave it out and just have coconut, or add cocoa... You get the idea.

A Truly Dairy-Free, Sugar-Free Ice Cream Recipe Wholesome Goodness

The kind of coconut milk I use is Thai Kitchen organic. INGREDIENTS: Organic Coconut Milk, Guar Gum. I don't know if Guar Gum poses a problem or not. I'll probably just wait, but we'll see if my craving gets worse or goes away!

You could easily sub the strawberries for another kind of berry, or leave it out and just have coconut, or add cocoa... You get the idea.

Thank you for sharing ! I have some friends who are crazy about my home made organic ice cream - they can't even tell it's sugar free ! Today they were telling me I should start selling it to diabetics. I gave them some coconut bark to try but I poured it in heart shaped candy molds. They loved that, too.

Ginger ? I will have to look into that, too ! Every P3 I look forward to my ice cream !

Let me clarify. If you are in P3, You SHOULD be checking labels.

If you are in P3, you SHOULD be choosing unsweetened and sugar/starch free as much as possible.

It's not about what I do, it's about what people on Protocol's P3 Should be doing.

So when I offer details about a food, it's the choice that I WOULD choose, because it's the one I Should choose according the the no sugar/starch instruction in P&I.

If someone chooses to not read labels, that's the chance they are taking.
But even if someone wants to know the nutrition data for starch covered sugar bombs, If it is in the USDA nutrition database, then I can help them find that information if they want it. Doesn't mean I think they should eat it or not read the labels. It's up to each person to do what they think they need or want to do when it comes to their personal food choices.

Stina ~ I take 2 potassium tablets with lunch and dinner for a total of 4 for the day. That's about 400 mg or the equivalent of one banana. If I get those awful cramps I will add another 1-2 tablets. HTH

Ok, gained 2.2 lbs on my 2 gorge days...today is my first day of the 500 calorie diet. So far all is well. I don't anticipate having a hard time today.

I have a question...has anyone used splenda as a sweetener? I am having a hard time getting used to stevia! I had my start date planned for 2 weeks before starting, so I had been blending it with splenda in hopes it would help(I had tried stevia before and knew it just isn't the same to me)....but it is just bitter to me. Maybe I should try saccharin...bitter too, but not as bitter(at least to me) as stevia. *sigh* Guess I shouldn't sweat the little things......

Ok, now someone help me with the abbreviations for where you are at on this journey...I'm in day 1 of the low calorie, and it is my first round.....Thanks!
