I should have mentioned the reason I have to give up coffee is because I'm using the hhcg spray and it says I can't have coffee because of the coffee oil. Plus, I would rather not even have it if I can't have the splenda and half and half that I put in it now so either way I'd be giving it up .

I've never tried the ground turkey breast - do you cook it just like the beef? What kind of recipes do you use with it?
Oh, weird! The ****** values I use have turkey breast as higher protein than an equal amount of chicken breast!

I browned it just like ground beef and added salt, pepper, and Taco Bell sauce. No sweeteners, no starches in it. Tasty over salad greens and when I reheated it with a bit of water, it made a sort of dressing.

Maybe I will try it my next round. I really like the P2 Chili w/ 95% ground beef and it hasn't ever stalled me. ******'s numbers are always all over the board - I can never find any consistency on there. When I looked up 3.5 ounces of cooked turkey breast it was 15.09 grams of protein, 3.5 ounces of grilled chicken breast was 29.4 grams of protein, and the ground beef was 20.4 grams of protein for 3.5 ounces cooked. I think if I would add the ground turkey breast my next round I would use more to up the calories and protein. When I use the cottage cheese as my protein I would use 3/4 cup which is 6 ounces instead of 3.5 ounces to equal out the calories.

I just looked at the back of a package of Jennie O ground turkey breast I have and the nutritional values are 26 grams of protein per four ounces of raw.

You're right, the ****** values do tend to be all over the place. I sometimes wonder if they don't bother to edit it because it's free.

I am going to try the lean beef again next round just because I like the taste much better than the turkey, but I stopped this time because it was a suspected staller. Granted, I had about three other possible stallers going on simultaneously so I can't be positive.

Next round, I'll be more circumspect and hope I can include it!

I haven't tried Pamela's baking mix because most of the recipes on the bag call for eggs, and we can't have those. I've learned from experience trying to sub for eggs in a mix can be disastrous. But my sister uses it for most things, and she really likes it!

I am glad I can help out and if you need more recipes let me know. I've been doing the gf thing for years and I have several recipes in my arsenal that I think are quite good, even the kids agree!

GF pizza crust

proof 1C warm water with
1 pkg (2 1/2tsp) yeast
1Tbl sugar

In a mixing bowl
2 1/2 C gluten free flour
1 tsp herb of choice (basil, rosemary, etc.)
1 clove crushed garlic
1 tsp xanthan gum
2 tsp salt

Add your yeast mixture to your flour combo and add
2-3 Tbl olive oil
1/2 Tbl apple cider vinegar

Beat it all for 2-3 minutes (this helps the xanthan gum).

Divide the dough in half, and with greased or wet hands, smoosh and spread it into 2 pizzas. Let rise for about 20 minutes and top. Bake 425 for about 20 minutes.

Notes: I use a combo of my own flours 3/4 C brown rice + 1/2 C sweet rice + 1/2 C sorghum/teff/millet (whatever you prefer) + 1/2 C potato starch + 1/4 C tapioca starch. I have a pizza stone and LOVE what it does for crust. I place the dough on 2 pieces of parchment paper (one half each) and cover it with saran wrap, then I use a rolling pin and roll it out to 1/4"-1/2" thick. Then I let it rise and top it. I bake it for about 10 minutes then pull the parchment out from under the pizza. Using a cutting board makes the transfer to and from the hot pizza stone super easy, unless you have a pizza peel. I hope you like it, I've even made desert pizzas with this crust, minus the herbs and garlic.

Blessings,
Leona

Victrola - I tip-toed into P3 a little this evening and had 2 chicken thighs and some blueberries w/ mocha mix and a pack of stevia. My real hunger started coming this afternoon, and the apple I had at 2:30pm didn't cover it. I know too that the hcg is going out of my system because my hunger was accompanied by a low blood sugar crankiness, which I haven't experienced for quite a while.

My logic is that we should gradually ease into P3, just as the hcg is gradually getting out of our system. Anyone agree?

Anyway Victrola - and anyone else - what things are you planning on eating (and when) as you get into P3?

You can definitely up your protein intake especially the night before. But I would slowly add any fats in. HTH !

Miserable tummy this morning. I ate cottage cheese and cabbage yesterday and I was up .5. I'm sure it's just a blip, but it's frustrating to see that number pop up on the scale again. Really frustrating because I know I'll be off plan today because of social events. I've planned out what I'm going to eat, but I won't be at 500 calories that's for sure.

I know a lot of you guys report your ups/downs in decimals. What kind of scale do you have. I just bought a new scale about 2 years ago. It's digital, but only does the pound and the 1/2 pound. Oh, it does the BMI and the water % also. But....I sure wish it was more decimal accurate. That must be why I get on the scale a min. of 3 times in a row when I weigh. Sometimes it can't make up it's mind which 1/2 pound it wants.

210.5 this morning. Tomorrow I shall commence LOADING

I wish mine did too but it's also only to the .5. I think I'm going to reward myself for getting through P2 by buying one that goes closer. I didn't want to switch scales in the middle. I'm also up for recommendations.

I've never been a huge cabbage fan except for the crackslaw versions. Thought I'd give it a go because last night I thought if I looked at one more bowl of salad greens I'd run off and binge. It was okay tasting, but it really could have used some bacon. I felt bloated and miserable all night and then the frustration of getting on the scale and seeing it up was not what I needed.

Hrmmmm, I forgot about that crack slaw. I enjoy cabbage but am used to it in coleslaw WITH MAYO so it's been a challenge to fix it differently. I did enjoy the crack slaw when I was doing Atkins. I normally shred cabbage AND lettuce and mix them when I eat salads. Been looking at some recipes now that COOK cabbage. Maybe a stirfry?

I've been pretty much stalled at the same weight for the last 3 days. My last dosage day is Sunday, so I want to make the most of these last few days, so I think I'm going to do an apple day today. I already had a cup of coffee this morning though, is that going to effect the apple day at all?

Wow I can hardly believe I have not visited at all this June!!! We have had a busy month with the end of school and my second eldest son graduating 5th grade. But now things seem to have calmed down. I am coming to the end of my 4th round. I have seen 116 again today. I decided that I am going to do an apple day. I have seen 116 or 117 for 10 days now and no other movement...tired of the up and down. So apple day it is!! I looked at my journal for last round and to break through the 116s I had to do an apple day. So I think my body wants to stay here!! LOL. We will see what happens on the scale tomorrow!! I am excited to see if my weight breaks!!! I see my round ending by next week. I hope to be in the 115s tomorrow and stay there for 3 days and then end my round. That way I am stable going into P3 AND I can finish the round before TOM hits on the 21st. Good luck to us all and Happy weekend to you!!!!! I am now going to get caught up with all the goings on for the month!!!

The apple day is supposed to run from lunch to lunch, so having coffee for breakfast shouldn't affect it.

Scale was up a pound from yesterday. This is my first round, so I'm not sure how fluctuations work. Does there have to be a reason to explain the weight gain, or is it common for weight to slightly flex up and then return to losing?

Need more information really. What day are you on? Is TOM due in the near future? Menu? Spices? Did you drink enough water? Calories? There are many things that can affect your weight. I looked back in my journal and I had a +0.6 gain that lasted for 2 days but then came back off plus some. It may just be your body holding water in your empty fat cells which is a good thing.

I know this is old, but wanted to comment. I was watching Dr Oz the other day and he mentioned that vitamin C unlocks our fat burning potential. So, I make sure to have grapefruit every day!!! I don't do the oranges either--not quite sure why, just never tried them on protocol. Probably because I love the apples, grapefruit and strawberries we are allowed!! I see no need to add in something that has caused so much troubles for others!! Anyway, I am all for the grapefruit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, I can give more information. I'm on day 11, experiencing TOM now. Breakfast was peppermint tea. Lunch was chicken soup (creole-seasoned chicken no sugar in the spices, homemade chicken broth and celery) and a grissino. Dinner was tilapia seasoned with garlic salt, pepper and lemon juice, romaine drizzled with red wine vinegar, and a grissino. I had an apple for an evening snack. I think I only drank 48 oz of water yesterday, so I was definitely under my daily goal there. Calories were around 400.

Some things I see:

1. TOM is in the house so water retention for sure!
2. check the garlic salt ingredients - mine had high fructose corn syrup in!!!
3. definitely need more water than 48 ounces
4. try to get the full 500 calories (at least in my experience I lose better)

My guess is a combo of TOM and not getting in enough water though. Try to drink a lot of water today (like 100 ounces) and I'm sure you'll have a nice drop tomorrow.
