Yeah, why are you not drinking coffee? You can have coffee in P2 with your milk serving each day. I use the hhcg spray and drink coffee every single day!

Hi everyone - just popping in here to say that I use regular non-dairy creamer or Mocha Mix and I still have good losses. I have to account for 50 calories each cup of coffee however, and really down the water. Oh, and 3 packs of stevia each cup

Same here debkeversole! My husband and I did not drink coffee before we did the protocol the first time - in fact he hated it - but when it becomes that first treat in the morning for 40 days straight...yeah, that will do it! Now, we are full-on addicts...

I know with the hhcg spray, they are pretty vocal about the "no coffee at all" rule - that is why I felt like I should be giving it up.

But I've still had an iced americano here and there and done a-ok!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Yum.

And, congrats Deb!!!!

Personally, I stopped drinking coffee because I hate it black. I tried it iced once (black) with some SF vanilla, and it was palatable but not at all delicious.

I also do the spray but it has more to do with homeopathics and not hcg. There's an entire discussion on another site about it. It's actually an individual thing - so you can test your losses with and without coffee. It doesn't affect some people but does others. Luckily, it doesn't affect my losses or I would cry!! I need my coffee

Well, darn it!!

Only finished half the cup of at-home coffee and no longer feel a desire for any more coffee! The cream was very...creamy.

My goodness, what a difference six weeks can make. My last injection was Monday, but I still don't have my appetite back!!

Oh, I did cave with two vodka-sodas last night. I was out to see a show and I just caved. Haven't weighed myself yet since Bernice hasn't come round in two days and it won't be accurate.

We'll see if the vodka hurt after she comes round!

Any suggested eating for load days? I can't eat wheat/gluten, so have to be careful with breaded foods and cakes/cookies, breads, etc. No donuts and cheesecake for me.

Ideas?

I just made these yesterday for my kids! They're super! I added about 1/4 c baking cocoa, and had to add roughly another 1/2 c sorghum because the dough was too wet. Definitely put them in the fridge for at least an hour, then use your hands to make them into balls. They keep for days on the counter without getting dried out, and once you're done loading, pop them in the freezer. You can pulverize them and use them down the road as cookie crumbs for pie crusts! I do it all the time.
Check out her other recipes, they're really great! Oh, if you can have eggs, the flourless chocolate cake is SUPER!

Oh, I just thought of another one! Gluten Free Pantry's French Bread and Pizza crust mix is really good if you add fresh crushed garlic (2 cloves) and some of your favorite herbs. I use rosemary and thyme. Just add it in when your beating the mix together. You can spread it out on a cookie sheet and bake it that way, or if you have a pizza stone, divide the dough in 2 and spread each one out on some parchment and once your stone is hot put the parchment directly on the stone. Once it's baked for about 10 minutes you can slide the parchment out and have a really nice crunchy crust.

Or, if you have several gf flours, I can send you my 'scratch' pizza crust recipe. Also, gluten free goddess has a very yummy focaccia bread recipe, but it's best eaten warm. Dip it in olive oil/balsamic!

Technically it doesn't say no turkey; it's just that turkey isn't included. Based on its nutritional profile, I didn't see any reason to exclude it! Worked better than beef for me.

I LOVE Gluten-Free Goddess' Recipes! I haven't experimented much with the mixes/flours, since I still eat fairly low-carb. I'll save that for P4 when I'm at my goal! But thanks for that!

Have you tried Pamela's Ultimate Baking and Pancake Mix? I've heard wonderful things about it. At the risk of sounding lazy, it sounds a lot easier than having several different flours and such around. I have a very tiny kitchen!

HA! I totally missed that part; my bad!

Aren't most other "birds" all dark meat? Duck, duck, goose...

I think that's the assumption. They aren't all dark meat, but waterfowl have higher fat content for metabolism reasons(ie cold water, long travel). Turkey being a land bird doesnt' have the same high fat issues.

The darkness just has to do with the amount of blood vessels and they tend to be in the working muscle more. and modern chickens that don't fly don't work their breast muscles much and are bred to be ultra lean ( and top heavy)

Most waterfowl would probably NOT taste good lean.

Yup.

I'm VERY confident that if Dr. S had had access to the sort of white meat turkey breast we do now, he absolutely would have included it.

Likewise - my last dose was Tuesday midday and here it is 48 hours later and I'm in no way craving anything and am hoping to make it into tomorrow (closer to 72 hrs) to make absolutely sure all the hcg is out of me.

Then, the treacherous P3 begins...and I SO don't want to screw it up this time. I'm glad Victrola that you will be in it the same time as me.

This time I WILL NOT dive into the almond butter and will shun all nuts - especially peanuts (yeah yeah, I know, technically it's a legume...)

I lost track of how many steak days I did my first P3. Ugh.

That's similar to bison. It's not mentioned in the protocol because he lived in Italy and they didn't have that meat there, but it's actually a better choice than even lean ground beef, nutritionally.

I'll take your scratch pizza crust recipe. Dh has already demanded that we figure out a way to have pizza soon after we're done with this round. He really misses it.

I know that the turkey breast has lower calories and fat but it also has much lower protein values. We are at the minimum level of protein while in P2, maybe that's why it wasn't included. Chicken breast, ground beef, etc. all have higher protein levels than the ground turkey breast. Do you eat more than the 100 ounces to make up the protein? I've never tried the ground turkey breast - do you cook it just like the beef? What kind of recipes do you use with it?
