Didn't lose any today - still at 127. Hopefully I lose tomorrow. The cheat really got to me and totally wasn't worth it. Will probably only get to 122 now, but I'm satisfied with that.

Morning All!

Well, I have some exciting news! DH has to go out of town for work this weekend, so instead of waiting until after Mother's Day Brunch to start my protocol, I've decided to cancel Mother's Day Brunch and start my HCG tomorrow!!!!! I'm so excited to start, you have no idea! Tomorrow and Thursday will be my load days and Friday I will start my very low calorie days. I'm going to go to the grocery store today to load up on chicken and fish, and I'll portion them all out tonight and freeze them so that I'm prepared for Friday.

Hi. I am new here. I will be starting the HCG drops in about 2 weeks so I am just trying to read up on as much information as possible. I will be following Dr. Simeon's protocol. I'm a little concerned about not being able to use lotion/facial moisturizer. Has anyone found a lotion that is approved for use during the HCG? I am excited to start losing this weight but nervous about sticking to the 500 calorie diet. I hope I can do it because I'm sick of packing this weight around.

Nicole! Congrats on your decision to follow Dr Simeons protocol. I felt the same way as you do before I started but all those concerns went right out the window as soon as I started learning so much from everyone here! The 500 calories is very easy to stick to because your body uses the stored calories that is releases from using the hcg. This is day vlcd10 (very low calorie day) and I am down 10.6lbs. I have not been hungry once while using this plan. Sometimes I may have an 'empty" feeling, but its not hunger. Download the Pounds and Inches by Dr Simeon and read all of the posts you can from last months dicussions. I found that extremely helpful!

I was worried about the lotions too but have found that my body adjusted very well to using Ivory soap ... and DRY BRUSHING!! It's amazing..I think my skin is in better shape now then when I slathered tons of lotions on it! You can even dry brush your neck and face. As for facial moisturizer, one thing I refuse to do without is my suncreen. I found that Roc Lift Moisturizer with spf 30 contains no oils and neither does my makeup, Bare Minerals.

Good luck!!!!

I'm on VLCD10 as well, and while I was never hungry last week, this week I'm REALLY not hungry. I mean, really. I am in the middle of eating my lunch. I ate my beef and am in the middle of eating my small apple. I just put down the apple, half finished, so I can take a breather from eating. I'm full!! I'm going to finish it because we still need our nutrition, but I am full already!

...just wondering...
do any of you guys "do" the apple cider vinegar? I see that vinegar is allowed. And I was browsing around in the lowcarbfriends main lobbey....and came upon a thread for ACV. I don't know if I could actually drink a "cocktail" made out of this stuff...but if it helped to break a STALL, it might be "do-able".

I used to drink it after a meal for digestion aid. BUT I made it with hot water and honey so needless to say I haven't had it since doing hHCG! It does have lots of health benefits tho!

Jan....I do the ACV 'cocktail' every couple of days. It does seem to move things along better plus I found it cures heartburn!!! Love it!

R1P2VLCD9 = 10 pounds lost!

I have definitely had days where I struggled with hunger and wanted to quit, but have done some tweaking and found what I can live with and am clearly still losing.

Seems like that would depend on what you eat. Are you eating spinach and other dark leafy greens ?

Is it dark BROWN or some other color? Is it always this color or just sometimes?

I don't know of anything with the hhcg that would make your poo darker, but then again, I don't normally check mine. As I recall darker color means more bile is being produced and I think that is a good thing. BUT not eating fat should be less bile not more.

Taking any meds or supplements that might darken it?

I have a really good article on this and here are some quotes about the color [of course some of this won't apply to someone doing hhcg]:

If Your Stool Looks VERY DARK BROWN It Could Mean:

You drank red wine last night or have too much salt or not enough vegetables in your diet.

If Your Stool Looks GLOWING RED OR MAGENTA It Could Mean:

You've eaten a lot of reddish foods such as beets.

If Your Stool Looks LIGHT GREEN It Could Mean:

You're consuming too much sugar, or too many fruits and vegetables with not enough grains or salt.

If Your Stool Looks PALE OR CLAY-COLORED It Could Mean:

Minimal amounts of bile are being excreted, perhaps because of problems with the gallbladder or liver.

I eat cucumber, too, everyday, but I have the opposite result. I think hhcg would be excreted in your urine and not anywhere else. But if you think hhcg is the only change you have made and not your food - maybe it's that particular brand. Are you taking a supplement that has iron in it ?

My neighbor's cats (that spend as much time at my house as they do hers) brought me a tiny, tiny dead mouse.

I think they know I'm on the protocol because the last time they brought me a dead rodent it was a honking huge rat!

Thanks for the information Calli! Where do I find a body brush? Do you do it everyday? I've heard of it before and that it's really good for you. I can't wait to get started with the HCG and lose this weight! I've waited long enough!

Deb, I am sorry to hear what you and your family are dealing with , it hurts alot I know. We have had 5 furbabies to say good-byes to in the last few years . Try a funny movie ,or good book ,something nice to divert your thinking.

You can pick 'em up pretty much anywhere...I got one at Walmart and another at Ulta. Just make sure they are natural bristles. You do it everyday, preferablly twice a day. Here is a really informative site with very specific instructions.

For those who are doing or have done P3....what are some typical menus during this phase? Are you allowed to snack on allowed items? P&I does not get very specific about this part. Is it true that the fiber in veggies cannot be subtracted from the total carbs? Is there a target number of healthy carbs to stay below?
