found a good recipe on youtube

she talks about combining veggies BUT in this the tomato counts as your fruit and the lettuce as your veggie good point about the seasoning blends i waswhen i starting looking at them and they all have sugar and/or msg! so been making my own with some old salt and pepper shakrs works great!! so HTH with some variety

And also, in the last 5 years since I started taking the depo, I've lost 140 pounds so definitely can say it does not make me gain weight. I only started gaining weight after taking lexapro last year. Yes, some people totally do gain weight on different birth controls but I think some people adjust to whatever hormones they are taking and at a point they no longer affect weight especially if you have been on them a very long time. So my little weight gain yesterday, I do believe had absolutely nothing to do with me being on Depo.

And speaking of which, I am down 1.8 pounds today (I know it was that darn water weight!) So my overall loss is 15 pounds and today is VLCD19. I am hoping that finally broke the stall but won't know for sure until tomorrow.
um if ya lost 1.8 pounds your stall is over!!! Dr S never said we would lose EVERYDAY just an average of .5 a day over the whole protocol congratulations!!

Wow! Everyone is doing GREAT AFter 4 vlcd's I am at 187.8, a one pound loss from yesterday and -10.2# total since loading. The 187.8 was the lowest I saw all last round (maybe for 1 day!) so hopefully tomorrow will be new territory

Deb~ Back in twoterville - AWESOME I had the boiled radishes last night with my meatloaf and it was yummy! I would think after you boil them you can add them pretty much to anything to get a different taste. They kind of reminded me of new potatoes. I think next time I'll add some garlic to them

Kerbear~ Yay!! Down 1.8# is fantastic! I figured it was just the water holding on for dear life. Onward and downward

Deuce ~ You are on FIRE Only 4 pounds til ONEDERLAND! I'm so excited for you! When was the last time you were below 200? I think I was below 200 after I had my first child - almost 11 YEARS AGO This protocol is just unbelievable!

Stinastina ~ I don't think Metqa was saying that no one has problems gaining on depo - just that not everyone does. And I think Kerbear cleared it up - she hadn't gained before so why would she now while on protocol. I'm glad I am not on BC - I always felt horrible on them. I'm lucky - DH got fixed

I'm done with the depo discussion - but let me assure you all I was able to comprehend the posts clearly.

At any rate, Today is VLCD4 I am only down .6 pounds and I did two things differently yesterday:

I did not drink any green tea. Instead, I had 2 cups of Mate Chocolatte.

I had 1/2 can of diced no salt tomatoes with my fish for dinner.

Is there any way to pinpoint the culprit because I really like that Mate Chocolatte !

You lost 0.6# - that's a good day! As long as you're losing and not stalling there really isn't any reason for concern. Some days you'll have small losses and others bigger losses. And sometimes you may even have a slight gain - but it's your body getting used to it's new weight. You are doing great and all the losses will add up in the end.

Oh I know! Actually week 3 ends today and I still ending up losing 3.1 pounds for the week so even though I had 5 days of ups and down, I still averaged out to a good loss!

Hi!

Happy Friday everyone!
Is it too early to be stalled? I've been stalled yesterday and today and it's only day 8. I know stalls are eventually broken, but I was just wondering if anyone had experience with stalling this early. Please give me encouragement!

Please post your menus for the last two days and any spices, lotions, make-up so then we can possibly see if there is any reason for not losing. I don't know how much you've lost already but sometimes our bodies just need to hold onto the weight for an extra day or so. Don't worry, we'll figure it out! Could you be at an old set-point for your body?

Deb - Thanks..No, I can't imagine before Dr. S....I have tried, absolutely everything! It is saving my life!! I'm planning on staying on the injections until day 40 (or whatever day it is, can't remember what my dr. said..maybe its' 46).

Gracie - you must feel very happy also! You're doing fantastic! I actually don't remember when I was below 200, maybe about 10 years ago. My husband died when I was 43, and I was 140 or so, and my weight crept up slowly ever since....food was my comfort.

Kerri - thanks...isn't this just absolutely unbelievable??? I was thinking this morning about how many people could be doing this and not suffering being obese. When I went for my physical in November and I was told I was in the obese group, I got so much more depressed. I go back to that dr. in May, and hopefully, I won't be in the classification anymore. I'm 61, so I also went thru menopause, and that also plays on your hormones.

As for the yerba matte chocolate, I've been drinking it every day, almost since I started, but our bodies are all different, and we could metabolize things in a different way. We are all unique, and I know we will all find our success right here as there is such wonderful support! Thanks, girls.

Thanks, Gracie! You're always so helpful. I'm on day 7 and have lost 8 pounds (im not complaining, but Im just worried about stalling so soon)

Coffee with stevia
lunch
100 grams of 95% lean ground beef seasoned with mrs. dash and 1/4 cup low sodium, no msg organic chicken broth, a tomato or cucumber, a little sea salt, melba toast, apple with stevia or strawberries

lunch same expect with 100 grams of chicken breast. I weighed 144 in high school and that's where I've stalled for the last two days, could that be why? and how do i get past this set point? I've been 130 from the age of 23 to right before I started my fertility procedures which has been over a year. I drink about 100 ozs of water/green tea and I have 2-4 tablespoons of ACV everyday.

Thank you so much. I don't want to get discouraged. Has anyone ever stalled this early on to continue on with great results?

First of all - you are doing great! It's not considered a stall until you are at the same weight for 5 days - so don't worry! Your menu looks good - I don't use Mrs. Dash - could you look at the nutrition information and make sure there isn't any hidden sugars in it? Look for high fructose corn syrup and/or sugar. I do recall reading 'something' about sea salt but I can't remember what!! I'll do a little research and see if I can find what it was. You could definitely be a set point for you body too. But I would just push alot of water today to flush those fat cells. Don't get discouraged - you have lost 8 pounds in 7 days!!! Your body is responding great to the protocol. Oh, are you using any lotions or make-up with oil in?

Well, continuing with "great" results is still to be seen. but I think we both have the same issue of our loss stopping at a point where our weight stayed for many years, and it is even mentioned in P&I.

The paragraphs says that if a person stayed at a weight for many years then experienced rapid gain and then started HCG, then they may stall at their previous lower weiigh, ie a set point, because that is where the body had been naturally confortable weight wise for many years.

It frustrated me as well because I started at a long term weight a year ago, had some life events that caused me to gain that weight back and a few more. Only three pounds more, but then my last short round of 21 days I couldn't get more than 2 lbs below my old weight. 5 stinking pounds loss and I was stuck! Then this newest round I spent a whole week in that same number!!!. But when the stall broke yesterday, I dropped almost two pounds and it seems I'm back on track. My average loss caught up with my weight goal chart even considering my 4 days of no loss and the gain that started it.

It says that in P&I also that the stall breaker usually puts people back on track as if they were losing steadily the whole time. That may not be true for everyone, but it seemed true enough for Dr. Simeons to write about it encouragingly.

Sorry, That doesn't sound much like pep talk, but stick with it. The only thing you get by quitting is guaranteed no losses!

I totally know what you mean! I am thisclose to be in the overweight category for my height! I think I just need to lose about 2 more pounds! It's depressing to be told you are obese so I can understand. You are doing great!

I think it just gets scary when you haven't lost for a day or two (or 5) because we are used to losing every day at first and then when you don't lose we freak out because it could be that we are doing something wrong. I think 9 times out of 10 it's just the body's way of catching up. I definitely agree to take your inches..if you are still losing inches then you are still losing fat and the weight will start coming off again soon! Keep up the good work! 8 pounds in a week is awesome!

Yeah, in my first round I stayed at the same weight for 5 days and it wasn't very fun! I did do an apple day and lost maybe 2#. I did lose alot of inches though! I think we all need to remember as long as we are following protocol closely we just have to let it work. And believe me, it does work!!!!

WOE: HCG
Start Date: restart 1/1/2012
I am down 1.6 pds today!
I have started this sooo many times in the last 6 months, but I always cheated. I think my mindset was it is so easy to lose the weight, I don't need to worry about it. I would let myself off the program for whatever reason and restart at a later date. I had lost 20 pounds. I then gained some back, now I am at a total of 15 pounds. I am determined to do this this time! I think April is a good month for me to do this as is May. I don't have alot going on, except this weekend. It is mom's weekend at my daughters college and I am trying to get myself ready for the weekend of challenges. I am not staying there I will be staying at home and going to visit everyday and evening, so that will help alot! I just have to focus on the prize!

Keep it up, you are doing great! Cheating on protocol is so not worth it - you can lose up to a week's progress. Just make sure you have all your food ready for the weekend so there's no reason to cheat - preparation is the key! I always struggle a bit more on the weekends in general. I always feel "snacky"!
