HELP!! So today is my 4th day not losing anything and infact today I gained .4, so I'm at 128.4. Yesterday I had pickles and mustard because someone told me I could have them, well I gained. Today I'm doing an apple day and hopefully I can level things out and maybe get a loss! very discouraged!!

Pickles have alot of salt so you're probably retaining water. Can you post your menus? I haven't had pickles on protocol so I can't offer much advice. They aren't listed in the allowed foods - cucumbers are, but not pickles. I'm sure pickles existed when Dr. Simeons wrote the protocol too so there's probably a reason they aren't included. An apple day should do the trick for you. Remember to not drink water unless the apples don't quench your thirst.

Did you follow protocol clean yesterday? I remember your past menus included mixing veggies. It's not that the protocol isn't working, you are tweaking it. Try a few days of clean eating and posting your menus and you will be fine.

Don't be discouraged! You're just getting started right? It will take time to know what you can eat and cannot eat, what your body loves and what it dislikes. An apple day is rough and usually done for a stall. Let your body do what it needs to do at its own pace. It will balance itself out as you go along.

I was on P2 for six weeks and it took me two to three weeks to get to where I knew what I was doing! I did some tweaking too. Try not to hyperfocus on the scale. It is about Pounds and INCHES!

It will work!

thanks guys. I have done the HCG diet before and I'm usually at 120 pounds but I gained a bunch last month so I decided to do it again so I know it works! I have never had pickles before on diet either but I read somewhere I could have them. But after today and my apple day I'm back to strict boring HCG diet! I only have 14 days left to lose 9.4 pounds.

Awesome!

R1P2vlcd9 up .5lbs. I ate some ham late last night, NOT on protocol. Boo. Today NO HAM. lol. I'm going to get to onederland one of these days. Darn it anyways. Plus I slept terrible and I don't think I drank enough water yesterday so overall not my best effort. Moving on though today so maybe tomorrow I'll see that "1"

I have no doubt if you stick to protocol you will have those pounds off in 14 days!!!

UGH, it's almost like we self-sabotage when we're at a milestone! The sleeping can affect your weight too. Hopefully the damage from the ham won't spill over to tomorrow Drink tons of water today because of the sodium. Good Luck!

Yeah, I kinda feel that way Gracie, self-sabotage. Bizarre. I've been struggling to get over that hump (below 200) and once again.......it'll happen because I'll never give up but I wish my brain or mind or whatever could embrace it. I knew last night not to eat the ham but I was tired and did anyway. The whole time I was telling myself "don't eat the ham." Today I will do exactly what you said and drink lots and lots of water. AND take a sleep aid or extra melatonin. <heavy sigh>

Okay, this is almost eerie.

I have terrible, terrible insomnia and pretty much can't sleep these days w/o a sleep aid. Except that I need to take a day off every few days because it stops working. On that day, I have to stay up all night and the following day. My doctor says it should right itself after all my various levels (Vit D, iron, thyroid, etc.) are optimized.

Anyway, towards 4,5,6 in the morning, I was starting to feel, if not outright hungry, maybe just a tad peckish. I waited till about 8 for my injection though, as that is closer to the usual time.

Maybe 10 minutes after the injection, poof!, no more peckish feeling at all! Yay!

I'm not going to weigh myself today, though. No sleep isn't likely to have a good effect. I will happily wait till tomorrow morning!

It's happened to me before too. I always think we use our fat as an excuse for lots of things. Like, that person doesn't like me or was rude to me because I'm fat. But, then when we lose the weight we realize, hmmmm, that person still doesn't like me or was rude to me - must be ME! That realization is hard to handle sometimes. With each pound we lose, we are also releasing some major emotions. What will we have to blame everything on when all the fat is gone? Know what I mean?

Yes, I do know what you mean. I stayed fat for several years without even trying to lose weight because of "scary" things I was going through or felt. Fat makes you more invisible and that's kind of where I wanted to be. Not anymore. I'm happy and feel secure again. I "like" who I am, it sounds cheesy but I have finally figured out who I am and now I embrace that person who is unique and only me. I love the people I am surrounded by and the people I meet. Losing the weight is part of the experience that yes, life can be tough but it's tough for everyone sometimes and it passes. Deal with the pain or struggle or whatever don't run to the refrigerator. My mind is working on catching up and it'll get there. I have to say too that even though it has been slow going sometimes with the weight loss, it's okay. I have to get used to seeing that face in the mirror again. That's what finally set the wheel in motion. I kept looking at my face thinking, ???? I had an extra chin and a pudgy face. I was finally seeing myself for real and FINALLY I was ready to do something about it. It's a process and I'm willing to wait if I get to my goal with a healthy mind as well as body. I get that it isn't a race now it's just all a part of the journey. It's just awesome though that we are all on it together. I appreciate the support and encouragement and the fact that we truly understand what we're all going through. I love my doctor and he is a brilliant man but he doesn't understand the whole fat woman thing. lol.

I can relate to both of you in this, as I'm sure many fat people can. I have thought of my fat as protection as well. Protection from a father who belittled and mocked me yet tried to sexual abuse me as well. Protection from the unwanted advances and attention of men in general. There is a LOT of emotional baggage inside those fat cells and I wonder as they are being released if we must also release the pain and hurt and any other negative reasons for clinging to the fat on us.

It's scary yet freeing at the same time. I think food has always been a comfort [as booze used to also be when I drank!]. Stuff the pain down and/or drink to escape the pain. Now it's time to deal with and release the pain! From fat caterpillars to graceful beautiful butterflies!

i don't think it was in P&I that i saw that, just a lot of us have had more success with it that way and i thought knowing about it might help the person who was having troubles for some reason that is the way i always did it from the start though....maybe the info from my seller?? i have stumbled and googled so much since September i couldn't tell ya where i found ANYTHING but we have had great success doing it that way different veggies , fruits and proteins in a day
hmmm maybe cause one might have more of a vitamin or mineral the other one didn't?? and that could be more nutrients that way?/ IDK YMMV

anyone heard of these dried strawberries?? sounds good to have with us in case of an emergency or anything but i am afraid with 2 servings in one package i would eat them both at once thus defeating the purpose!!

Brothers all natural fruit crisps strawberry

something to think about if i could control myself!!

i walked another mile and a quarter today!!

Selahgal i agree maybe check out your blood pressure do you take meds for it?? maybe the doc may have to adjust your dose if you are on meds i know i went down from two doses a day to one of mine!

a few friends of mine and I were discussing this very thing that when we reach fat that is to be released from a traumatic or emotional part of our life some of the feelings and memories of then come back so maybe just as the nutrients we have stored away in our fat cells maybe there are other things as well?? and if this is so, and this happens to us we could say hang on another day or to it will be released and we can move on!!

You're absolutely right! I remember you posting (on the other site) about not feeling great overall emotionally. I think our fat cells release ALOT of built up emotions. We just don't know how to deal with those emotions anymore because we can't go jump into a bag of potato chips! We are learning to deal with our emotions instead of masking them. I also had a man (aunt's boyfriend) when I was young who would make very improper remarks and I think that's when my weight problems started. I thought if I was fat and ugly then men like that would leave me alone. I'm so sorry it happened with your own father - that's gotta be alot of buried emotions.

Well, I started P3 and I'm scared to death, but thanks to all the great info that's been posting lately I think (hope!) it's going to be ok. Who knew a couple of scrambled eggs this morning would taste SO good!? This is my proposed menu - is it ok?

Breakfast - 2 eggs scrambled with 1 oz shredded cheddar cheese (I shredded it myself so no potatoe atarch in it) cooked in 1 Tbsp butter (so good!)

Lunch - will be 3 oz pot roast with 2 cups Romaine (just like P2) but with 2 Tbsp Marie's Chunky Bleu Cheese dressing (sugar free)

Dinner - probably the same as lunch - DH is out of town and I don't want to cook - or maybe 2 more eggs.

I have those. We normally have them around and pick them up on our Costco shopping trips. Are you sure that one bag is two servings? The one I have shows it to be 1/2c net weight. Servings per bag=1 Calories=45 Fat=0 Sodium=0 Cholesterol=0 Carbs=10 Fiber=2 Sugars=6 Protein=1

And that is the strawberry/banana one so Im sure it is higher due to the bananas

Looks like a good "transition" to P3 menu. But after a couple days you want to add more food. You want to stabilize at a higher number of calories than what you have in your menu. Last round I was able to 2500 calories and NOT gain. If you are low on calories then you will stabilize at that low number, KWIM?

Thanks, Gracie - I don't want to stabilize at a really low number, that's for sure; I'm just SO afraid of gaining. Any suggestions on how much more I should eat? Snacks? I'm sooo scared...I know it's kinda pathetic.

I would double your protein at least at each meal. That 3 ounces isn't much at all. Add in lots of FAT!!! I'm telling you, do not be afraid - you are resetting your hypothalamus and fat doesn't make you fat!!! I will show you some typical menus for me for P3.

Breakfast Ideas
3 egg omelet w/HWC, butter, veggies, cheddar cheese and sour cream
eggs/butter w/sausage or sugar-free bacon & strawberries
1 Atkins PB Bar (cautious)

Lunch
2 rotisserie chicken thighs w/ broccolli loaded (butter, cheese)
BIG grilled chicken salad w/ crumbled bleu cheese, bacon, cheese and ranch dressing
double portion of P2 chili with sour cream (YUM)

Dinner
8 Ounce NY Strip, mashed cauliflower w/hwc, butter, salad
Homemade meatballs in fire roasted diced tomatoes w/ provolone cheese

Snacks
Veggies/ranch
Berries w/ sour cream mixed with splenda

Jess- Try Atkins, not HCG. If you have PCOS, consider also starting Metformin, which has helped many women get pregnant.

Don't do HCG yet!!

1) It can result in multiple pregnancies at once, and
2) It increases your chance of miscarriage.

I did a lot of research before starting this!

Question: Do you guys aim to maintain during P3 and P4? Or do you let yourself still lose weight?

I can't imagine taking 6 weeks off from weight loss mode!

Never heard of them!

I tried to chew Trident Cinnamon and I swear my losses weren't as good. Take it for what it's worth!

So is the Trident Cinnamon gum!!!! Honestly, I really try to stick to protocol - that way I keep losing. I'm not one to "tweak" alot. I haven't tried the noodles, haven't mixed veggies (maybe 2x), don't drink diet pop, etc. I am not hungry and I don't feel the need for extras. But, everyone is different so if you want to try them, go ahead. But, they are not on the protocol. So, if you don't lose it's not that the protocol doesn't work, it's the added items that are hindering you. KWIM?
