I am getting ready to start P2 and was wondering which soap or body and which shampoo is P2 safe? Thanks!

I'm struggling. I finished Phase 3 of the HGC diet the end of march and I kind of cheated on Phase 2 and 3 and never really let my weight stabilize and I think now I'm paying for it. I went on vacation and drank beer and ate pizza for a week and now I"m up 8 pounds. I am going to do another round of HCG but I'm worried about the yo, yo, dieting. I think a lot of my problem was because I cheated on my last round and didn't really stabalize my weight in phase 3. Any suggestions/comments? I am hating myself right now!

Don't hate yourself over 8 pounds!!! But, unfortunately cheating is the kiss of death on this protocol. If you cheat in P2 you will gain alot and if you cheat in P3 you will not stabilize. Drinking beer and pizza for a week probably didn't help you - were you in P4 or P3? I have drank beer in P3 (Michelob Ultra) and stayed within my window. You just can't have sugar/starch. There are alot of sugar-free substitutions that are delicious. If you start another round you need to be intentional about it. I do not yo-yo diet, I follow the protocol as written. The only reason you are yo-yo dieting is because of the cheats. Give it another try and don't cheat this time! You will have those 8 pounds off in no time!

Thank you Gracie. That is my plan. I have done the diet before and never struggled with keeping my weight in control, after my first round I stayed around 125 the whole time, then I did another round and got down to 117 and that is when I just cheated because I thought I was skinny enough, but it hurt me in the end. So I'm hoping that I can just stabilize after this next round and just keep my weight at my LIW! I just have heard horor storries about yo yo dieting and that is what I feel like I'm doing right now!!

I use Ivory soap with no problem or I'll use my daughter's baby wash. As for shampoo/conditioner, I use my normal products. I haven't had any issues with using them.

I use my normal shampoo/conditioner and even color my hair without any problems. I use Dial body soap and the Neutrogena oil free cream cleanser/Neutrogena oil free moisturizer. So far, so good.

Gracie is right, don't beat yourself up over it. You already know you can do it and you already know what happens when you cheat so already you are a step ahead on the learning curve. I bet you will do great this round!

I am looking into this diet-have an appt. next Thursday. Does anyone who is on this diet have a thyroid issue and do they make you discontinue your meds?

I was on another site searching for information and thought what I read suggested that they have you stop taking thyroid replacement, but it wasn't clear.

Thanks for any information

So, tonight we are suppose to go to a family birthday dinner. We aren't suppose to bring anything and I know there will be nothing there that I can eat!
I am trying to decide if I should go.....or stay home?
I hate being the one not eating and everyone asking why!

Wmac - I turned down an Easter dinner invite. I told my friends that I have to eat differently now so that I can live longer. I actually felt good about it. I knew they would have nothing I could eat and they would be insisting I try everything.

Do NOT stop taking your meds. I have severe hypothryoidism and the meds do not affect the diet at all. You want your thyroid level to be as normal as possible.

have you tried magnesium citrate? I believe there is a brand called Natural Calm that seems to work for a lot of people. I've tried the smooth move a couple times and more often than not it does nothing at all for me.

I need a smack in the head! Truly!!!

I had such great results through the entire R1 (23 days)!! I know that I would have terrific results again if I would just QUIT messing around with it. I just keep eating enough off plan that my weight stays the same, but I'm not losing.

It's weird though, even though I'm on hcg, and my calories have been up to normal daily amounts, I haven't gained. This has been for five or six days now. I'm excited that this bodes well for the long-term effects of this diet, but I'm frustrated because I know I could have lost more by now.

I'm really, really, really serious about being ON PLAN tomorrow, without any question--like I was for R1. Strict. Strict. Strict.

Will someone please come here and smack me if I don't. No, that won't be necessary, I'm going to do it right!

Junk...my doctor told me not to stop my thyroid pills and my blood pressure pills, I also take prozac. I don't think it has hindered my weight loss, cause I'm losing.

wmac..that's always a tough one as I face it a lot, I guess, it would depend on who the family member was. If I go places now, I eat before I go and just say I'm not hungry, and I have club soda with a lemon in it as everyone was giving me a hard time that I wasn't "happy" at happy hour..looks like a vodka and soda

stina - I've been drinking smoth move for years, when needed. If you liked the flavor try just starting out with 1/2 a cup first....always drinking in the evening too. I also heard the Natural Calm was good.

Nic - I'll come smack you if you need it...I need to get away Just look at your weight loss though...you have been going in the right direction...keep in mind constantly the end result and how great you will feel.

Ooops! I forgot something. When I went to the dr. today for my weekly weigh in, my blood pressure was low. It has never been low in about 20 years. I have been taking 2 pills a day and he told me to try one a day and we will check in next Tuesday! I guess that would be exciting to get off these meds.

Kerbear, I had a bottle of the stuff in preparation for my surgery and really did not enjoy it. Is it the same stuff that comes in lemon or orange flavor ?

Maybe I drank too much ? Last night I had a cup. Then this morning nothing happened so I had a larger cup. This afternoon I was in severe pain.

I know exactly how you feel! I have been messing around with this for months! And then I get on here and read about all these people that are following the plan while I am not and they have all these wonderful weight losses! So this time I am determined.

One of the best things I have done for myself on this diet is taking 4 calcium citrate a day and 1 acidophilus pearl .

My frist round was much harder as I tried the Natural Calm, and Smooth Move Tea ( hurt my tummy too ) even in weak and small amounts.

It really has amazed me what a difference !

Good Morning Girls! You are all doing awesome! Thanks for the encouragement. Dropped one more pound...201...waiting for onederland to appear....25 pounds gone now and it feels great.

wmac...great planning on the party..feels good, doesn't it?

Haleys....you are off to a good start too!

stina...I'm going to ask my doctor what else he rec for this if smooth move didnt work for you...just remember...don't take it in the day..just before bedtime. Maybe there is an ingredient in it that your body is sensitive to. Drink lots of water...I drink at least 128 ounces per day.

Nic - are you back on track today? Stick to the plan because you know you basically lose your hunger, then things will go much better for you. Drink lots of water and yerba matte tea a few times a day.

I've gotta run but, everyone have a great day!

I am frustrated but hanging in there. I was seeing losses until I worked this weekend. I followed protocol to the letter as always and somehow managed to go from 153.3 on Friday morning to 155.5 as of yesterday! I know that going back and forth from day shift to night shift messes with my circadian rhythms but this is ridiculous. Just because I needed to see a change on the scale, I did an apple day yesterday and the scale says 153.6 this morning. I really need to see some better results! I'm pretty much where I started a month ago! I still have a net loss of 10 lbs. from when I first started back in January but I'm just not seeing it since I restarted. I'll keep plugging on, though. Something has to happen!

The smooth move hasn't been working for me at all. And it's been several days now with no BM so I'm going to have to go out and try to find something else instead..

Anyways, today is R1P2VLCD24 and dropped .2 but I had gained 1.3 yesterday so losing just .2 wasn't the greatest of reliefs..oh well. I'm at an even 16 pounds lost. I did take my shot this morning so today might be my last injection and it may not..I think it will all depend on what my weight is in the morning. I am just taking it day by day now.

Good morning! My weight is holding steady today - same as yesterday. I'm thinking today is a good day to lose mad INCHES!!!! YAY!!!

Deuce ~ OMG, you are almost in ONEDERLAND, how exciting!!!! You need to reward yourself with a new outfit or something. How is the walking going? Kudos to you for exercising - I need to start but I just have too much kid activities and not enough time! I guess I could walk at work during lunch - maybe you'll inspire me to walk today!

I used the smooth move tea and my tummy hurt like bejesus! I drank an entire mug and boy did I pay for it. Maybe try a stool softener or a mild laxative to get things moving. Remember, we are not eating alot so there really isn't much to let back out Are you drinking enough water? When I drink over 100 ounces/day I don't have any problems with bernice.
