I heard or read that the Walden Farms dressings are ok on HCG program. Is this true? If so, I want to order them now.

so is it okay to basically eat the same things right now? Ever since someone posted the simple chili recipe with the 100g lean beef and 1/2 can diced tomatoes, I've been eating that most days. It's soooo easy for me right now under my time constraints and it tastes good.

i believe the recommendation is to have a different protein, fruit, and veggie for each meal on a day(like lunch beef, apple celery and then dinner that day chicken, orange, lettuce etc.) i don't think it would be bad to have the chili for one of your meals everyday unless the beef stalls you one of my friends ate NO beef on her round because American beef is way fattier than the ones in other countries and is advised against in P&I i have a local meat seller that makes their hamburger EXTREMELY lean (like have to add fat to get it to hold together) and that is what i use for my chili..... but i have had a serving of chicken every day this round

oh and in Dr. S's time tuna was packed in oil so i have used a can of tuna in water once or twice when the sameness got to me butYMMV

P3 Day 8

Howdy Newbies!!

You don't need to count your carbs. Up your fats though, that seems to work well. I'll give you my sample menu for P3.

B: 3 eggs scrambled with HWC, cheedar cheese, and sour cream (bacon or sausage too if I feel like it)
coffee with HWC

Sn: apple w/cinnamon

L: big salad with lots of veggies, either 6 ounces of steak/chicken, with crumbled bleu cheese, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing

Sn: berries w/ sour cream mixed with stevia & vanilla

D: 6 ounces meat, large salad and veggie with butter & sour cream.

You want to keep your calories up to about 2500 per day so your hypothalamus resets at that. I would actually gain on P3 if I ate too little!
Thanks, Gracie. Thank you for your help. I used the word carbs because sugars and starches are carbs. But since fiber is also technically considered a carb, "sugar and starch" is more precise.

I haven't been posting daily since I started P3, so here's my catch-up post:

Last Day Weight: 233.8
Phase 3, Day 1 -- 231.6
Day 2 -- 231.8
Day 3 -- 233.6
Day 4 -- 234.0
Day 5 -- 234.4
Day 6 -- 234.4
Day 7 -- 234.8
Day 8 -- 235.4 (today)

My weight has increased almost daily since I started P3 and now I'm skating awfully close to my 235.8 limit, which concerns me. I stopped eating apples when I started P3 because they have sugar (fructose)! Should I start eating them again? 2500 daily calories makes sense. I haven't been paying any attention to calories, since Dr. Simeons didn't mention it. Maybe I've been eating too little! I skipped breakfast twice too -- just had coffee.

My typical P3 eating has been high fat -- cheese, butter, bacon, chicken thighs with skin, steak and roast -- because high fat has worked for others during P3. The cheese has made me quite constipated more than once. I regret stocking up on meats from a regular supermarket. In the future, I'm planning to shop at Whole Foods, etc for meats without the bovine growth hormone and other chemicals.

Yes, it's okay to eat the same things. I read Pounds and Inches twice and didn't notice any restriction on eating the same items repeatedly. I lost 28.4 pounds on round one while eatinjg skinless chicken breast at 95% of my meals, melba toast at 100% of my meals, apples at 75% of my meals, and rotating a very short list of veggies.

I decided to go back to school a few years ago, and I am now in my last semester of Nursing School...I am so excited to graduate in May and want to be looking and feeling my best for all the great things that lie ahead!

Today if my 1st VLCD for R2. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you better!

Have a wonderful afternoon,
Debbie

HI Debbie,
Today is my first day of VCLD too, so we are in the same boat, only I have never done this before. I am noticing I have been feeling super hungry today, I am trying to ignore it and keep drinking more water, listening to music to distract my mind, I dont like this feeling and hoping it goes away in a day or two. Are you feeling this way too ?

Hi, Debbie!!! Great, I'm on day 15 of 40, I know I can do it, I hope I lose close to what you have! Has the weight stayed off?
Kelly, I find the longer I hold it under my tongue (till it basically absorbs) the better appetite control I have.

Hi Dessa,
Thanks for the advice, but I am actually doing the injections, so there is nothing to hold under my tongue. I take 1 shot per day in the mornings.

i haven't ever done the shots but i remember some of the old posters saying to adjust the dose up or down a little bit to find which is best for your hunger control i really think it is rare to have hunger issues on vlcd 1 most after loading are relieved at the amount of food hope it goes away soon do you have any yerba mate tea?? helps some

I'm on day 3 of VLCD and I'm still hungry. I'm shaky, and light headed. I keep thinking each day will be better...I'll let you know when it happens.

What kind of HCG are you doing? It concerns me when folks say they're hungry or weak. The HCG is supposed to be preventing that, isn't it? My biggest concern is that the drops would really do nothing and I'd be, in fact, wasting away on 500 calories a day thinking I'm burning the right fat only instead I'm starving myself and burning up muscle and support fat! YIPES. How would you know? Wouldn't lack of hunger be a sign it's working and visa versa???

Hi I took the homeopathic HHCG drops,my first round ,I had lots of hunger after 7 days. I talked to the doctor I got my drops from about it.

She told me to eat a little more protein ( 1/2 oz or 1+ oz is about what I ate )and eat my fruit with the protein and that did the trick , plus if you get hungry have some hot tea , it really helps the hunger.

Later I was able to eat the fruit without protein with no problems , but still ate extra protein when getting hungry on both rounds and my daughter did the same on her first round ,and she lost 31 pounds in 30 days and no hunger with a little extra protein and hot tea .

I am starting my third round on March 15 and my daughter is starting her second round, we will be loading for 3 days .

How was your loading? And did you load while taking the drops? Remember you are to load while dosing!! Also some experience hunger for a week while starting---could be candida your body is trying to get rid of. If you have true hunger and not head hunger there are several things you can try. It has been suggested you drink hot tea when you tummy is empty--fills you up better than cold drinks. Green tea speeds metabolism and oolong tea is a "dieter's tea" if you are interested in speeding things up!!

You could also eat your food all day long. Just make sure you portion out enough for the day and eat a little bit all day long. I ate my fruit and melba for breakfast, then my veggie and protein at lunch and then again all 4 choices at dinner. But you can spread out the food as much as you want. If you have low blood sugar it is suggested to eat more often, actually. I take enough supplements for all my ailments and have kept most of them while on protocol.

Something else that has been suggested is taking l-glutamine. It is an amino acid that helps with cravings. I have powder, but you can buy the pills. Best taken on an empty stomach. I hope one of these suggestions works for you! I was hungry my entire 2nd round and it was not fun at all. Nothing I tried worked. And I tried everything. What kept me going was I was still seeing losses on the scale every single day and I did not want to mess that up. I never once cheated, even though I just wanted to feel full just once and was more than tempted!! I lasted til I hit goal, but it was difficult. I had to resist too many things!! What I ended up doing was to up my dose to include 1 extra time, so I was dosing 4 times a day even thought the bottle said only 3 times a day. You will not screw it up if you have to dose more often or more times than suggested. I went through more than one bottle so you may want to make sure you have enough. Good luck!!!

One lady did the protocol with all chicken once and lost well. I would however, rethink the beef thing. Dr S says not to have beef more than a couple of times a week. However, if it works.......I have pre-cooked chicken, and I have precooked my fish too, that I pull out when I want a change. And my shrimp is already pre-cooked so I just thaw and eat. And crab meat is already to go--no thawing even!!! There are some other choices you can do to mix things up.
Btw, I love chili on protocol. So tasty!!

I missed this recipe, would you mind posting it or a link?

Thanks!!!!!
I understand your excitement, but you may want to rethink the whole TOM thing. I had a friend whose period would not stop until she stopped the drops. You don't know how your TOM will behave with the hhcg in your system. For some it is heavier, longer, lighter, but it screws almost everyone up! Be cautious!!!

Daily check-in

Good morning All. Today is R3P4D13, and my weight is 180.6 lbs., another .6 lbs gained. I'm not panicking or anything, just wondering why. Well I can tell you I'm all carbed up today, I just had my oatmeal again . I bought two 4 oz containers of ice cream, but I'm holding off for now, until the scale stops moving up, or starts moving down. Just happened to get two, not going to eat both at one time. There just sitting on the bench, waiting to come into the game. I hope everyone is doing well.

Everyone have a great and INTENTION day.
