I'm stuck! Today is the 3rd day with no loss/gain, now I know TOM is due next week so I expected to see the weight loss slow......but I'm surprised that it completely stopped as early as VLCD 13.
Anyway what would you recommend? An apple day? Can I do a steak day in P2 or should I just wait (ugh) it out until TOM and see how it affects the scale.

I've increased my water to 3 liters a day up from 2, can't drink green tea because it makes me nauseous on this diet or some reason

Thanks!

Hard to say what is going on!! What foods are you adding in to your P4? They could set you up with the cravings.

Wait it out!! Dr S says to do an apple day when you are stalled at a weight for 4 days. You might have a good whoosh tomorrow--you never know! Here is hoping for one!!

Has anyone had any experience with using Carbquik in P4? Did you gain, lose or mainatin using this product?
Just wondering about my game plan when I'm in the maintenance stage of hcg.

Hmmm Oopsie pancakes, I might have to try that in P3. I've made regular Oopsie rolls before when I was doing Atkins, but not pancakes. Sounds yummy!

Day 13, and I bounced up .6lbs. I have been clean on protocol. My body is going to fight me to get out of the 240s as usual. Going from 252 to 242 was a breeze. But it's taken me all week to go from 242 to 240. Hope the next 7 days is better. I feel like I lost a week.

I haven't been on here for a while. I have the mediral homeopathic "weight loss". Has anyone else used this and had good results? I really struggled big time and I have a bottle left and want to try again but just need encouragement that someone lost it with this kind.

Hello,
Was wondering if I could join your group, I have been on this site for years and have done Atkins and Southbeach, lost the majority of my weight on Southbeach but kinda hit a wall and I have a couple friends who started going to a local clinic and doing the HCG injections. I noticed how much they were losing and how quickly, so I wanted to give it a try to finally get to my goal. I just got my shipment in today ,I am doing the injections. I did the first one today and am loading today and tomorrow. So far, so good. Just wondering if anyone has felt hunger pains once they started with the 500 calories ? I guess that is my biggest concern right now.

heahyou, welcome to the group. I'm pretty new to this as this is my first VLCD, but I'm not hungry at all. I tend to wake up hungry sometimes, but after the second loading day, today has been pretty much a breeze. I've only had chicken thus far today, and tons of water, but I'm thinking the HCG is working. I'm using drops, so I'm not sure how that would compare to the injections, but this is a great support thread so as long as you're committed I'm sure you'll get the results.

Thanks Dessa, I am hoping that I will feel too stuffed too and not feel hungry. I did my shopping today to get all my protein and fruit and stuff, so I am ready to go. Today with loading I have eaten Velvetta Shells & Cheese, making up from fried potatoes right now, gonna put gravy on them. I plan to stop by Dairy Queen and get my fav, Brownie Earthquakel lol. Man I wish I could eat like this all the time and not gain lol. Later I am thinking about some Burger King double cheeseburgers for dinner. Tomorrow maybe some Pizza Hut pizza, my old fav lol.

Sounds Awesome Kelly! Absolutely take advantage of it. I actually only gained 2lbs during the load and lost 5 by the 3rd day. I had Pizza Hut too, and drool time on the fried potatoes! Wish I'd thought of that. I loaded on the weekend also it was better for me to start VLCD while at work.

very little real hunger if there are cooking smells the head hunger can get to you! only time i had a problem with real hunger was my first round and i didn't carry my homeopathic drops with me and we were stuck 65 miles away for HOURS longer than i had planned and i hadn't taken anything legal with me! so that taught me to keep my drops in my purse(not RX) and to carry apples with us most people find after their load days that it is a welcome relief to have simple portioned food and not so much of it!

HAPPY LOSING!

Hello everyone.

I hope you don't mind a couple of newbie questions. I have read back several threads and also done some searches, but haven't seen my particular issues addressed so I am hoping you will all have some good advice for me.

I am allergic to chicken. Do you think it would be okay to substitute turkey breast instead? I looked up the nutritional comparison and turkey has the same amount of protein but is lower in fat and calories.

Also I have celiac disease so is it okay to skip the breadstick or should I find a gluten free version keeping in mind that gluten free breads are usually higher in calories and adjust the size accordingly? I typically eat no breads of any kind.

I have loved reading the threads and thank you all so much for sharing your experiences. It has given me the courage to try this out.

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you!

if you can't have chicken i would say very lean turkey breast it is not in P&I and so not protocol but we do what we have to do

if you could find a gluten free version that would be great Dr. S included everything for a reason and while IDK why this or that works it works, so as close as you can do it without compromising your health is the way to go

i read somewhere where they were subbing those low carb tortillas for the grissini but of course i can't find it when i am looking for it
can you eat fish and shrimp? those are on the lists of protein along with 3 egg whites+1 whole egg for a serving and i believe 100grams of low fat cottage cheese too (not the fat free it has sugar) those would expand your choices if you could have them

Dr. S also said that those people who felt that the amount of food that was allowed was TOO MUCH could leave out anything they wished.

Quote:
"Every item in the list is gone over carefully, continually stressing the point that no variations other
than those listed may be introduced. All things not listed are forbidden, and the patient is assured
that nothing permissible has been left out. The 100 grams of meat must he scrupulously weighed
raw after all visible fat has been removed. To do this accurately the patient must have a letter-scale,
as kitchen scales are not sufficiently accurate and the butcher should certainly not be relied upon.
Those not uncommon patients who feel that even so little food is too much for them, can omit
anything they wish."

HA! You sound like me. Been planning my two loading days as well. Trying to remember to eat high FAT not high sugar tho! OY. So far, I know that several pints of B&J's ice cream are on the list, at least one McD's angus burger with fries and a shake, a SW sub sandwich, maybe Pizza Hut and there's some rich chocolate somewhere with my name on it too!!! I've been doing Atkins for six weeks going on seven so these two loading days will be a BIG CHANGE!!!

I just ordered my homeopathic HCG today and it's already on it's way! Now I just have to decide what weekend to pig out and begin!

Marci

P.S. About cottage cheese, Dr. S's book POUNDS AND INCHES states " In countries where cottage cheese made from skimmed milk is available 100 grams may occasionally be used instead of the meat, but no other cheeses are allowed."

That would mean the good ole US of A, yes?

Today was my P2D2...down 4 lbs so far. Today was also my first challenge...we had a family lunch at Cracker Barrel. I was planning to get grilled chicken tenders but found out from the waitress that they are marinated. I can't eat beef, so I got a dry pork chop, small dinner salad with no dressing and about 3 bites of green beans. Hopefully that was okay...guess I'll see in the morning! The fact that I was able to pass up the biscuits and cornbread was huge!

Just so I understand the lingo you guys are using, is p2 like phase 2 ? So that would be when you move off the load days and start in on the low calorie portion? I tried to go today to buy the book pounds and inches but the Barnes and Noble didnt have it, so I will prob have to order it online.

I have also noticed I have felt a little dizzy today, did anyone else have this feeling at first?

to all the new people! I was too lazy to do a multi quote

So I looked back at my journal to see if I could spot some carb or sugar creeps that made it's way into my diet. Maybe a clue that would explain my stall. Although I've eaten "clean" and stuck to protocol, I noticed that on one day over the last few days I ate cucumbers as my veggie for both lunch and dinner on the same day. I also had 96% lean beef for 3 days in a row.

I broke up that party tonight needless to say and had shrimp and spinach for lunch and curry chicken and cucumbers for dinner tonight.

So....I wonder if there's a connection between the beef and repeated veggie thing. I know beef stalls some people.....I guess I'll have to wait til tmrw to see what the scale says.
